Dude, all you need to do is pull the top section up & off from the rear first, then slide the front section up and toward the rear and it comes right out. You probably realized that when you put your side skirts back on first before snapping it all back in.
I'm going to let everyone know, no you can't. You do not need to go quite as far as he did, but you do need to slide the console back to get the top section out.
