That hurt my heart. That child probably just wanted to escape his disability for a few hours and have fun. And the pain the father must feel too. People see a disabled person for a couple of seconds, but rarely take into account their struggle and family’s struggle for the rest of their lives. My cousin has severe autism and developmental issues. He loves Spider-Man and the MCU. It’s the only time you see him light up, or get him to talk a few words and be present in a conversation. Learn some empathy and respect for others.
I hope the kid and his father had a good rest of the day to overshadow that terrible moment.

I always laugh when people get outraged over something they have no experience with. As someone in a wheelchair, I didn’t find what the streamer said as offensive. Stephen Hawking is probably the most famous disabled person on the planet. Is it funny? Not particularly and worth an eye roll but not offensive. What’s offensive is using the handicapped bathroom or parking in handicapped parking if you don’t need it. Things able bodied people do without thinking all the time.

When I was 12 one of our classmates showed me a picture of their disabled brother. I couldn’t hold my laugh but I laughed. Till this day this event runs in my head and I feel bad about it. I never apologized to the girl and wish I wasn’t a dunce at the age of 12 but if I could remember who she was I would apologize to her and her brother.

Hey, incase you don't know most wheelchair users prefer to be referred to in that way. Wheelchair bound implies constriction where as it actually provides freedom. Also as crazy as this sounds saying wheelchair bound makes some people think they are stuck in their wheelchair all the time, like can't sit in a regular chair or sit/lie move anywhere else. You seem compassionate so I'm sure you will take my comment in the way it was intented, I'm trying to help.

I had my bike stolen from my back yard the same night we moved in (we moved houses). I wasn't mad, just disappointed. Plus I always knew I could get a new bike but the paranoia lasts. The only further incident relating to this was when someone entered our backyard looking shifty. I'm 90% shure it was someone looking for something to steal but the yard was empty because of the previously mentioned bike theft. I didn't tell anyone about the person as they left empty handed.
