I prefer GT because Forza fucking broke my heart. I loved Forza in the beginning (started with Forza 5) and I began to appreciate race craft, but the online is horrendous, so many arseholes who completely and utterly ruin the game. Also, GT is more of a sim, the bumps, elevation changes and rumble strips affect the car in such a nuanced way. The tracks are almost dead in comparison on Forza.
I haven’t played GT properly to give proper verdict, but it does look like a very good game. The only issue I have with it is that the chase cam physics seems a little weird to me with me being used to Forza. The simple fact and issue is that what one of these games has, the other doesn’t. Example, I love the look of some of the fictional tracks in GT sport, but they just aren’t really existent in forza. However forza has the superior car list by a mile. I think if forza could bring more fictional tracks, provide better racing with a different system including penalties etc like GT sport and just keep updating the game consistently to keep the content fresh, it would crush the competition. I think overall these games can learn from each other realistically.
Schindlers fist gran turismo is my childhood, sorry but forzas a no for me chief. Ive played forza from motorsport 3 till horizion 3. Playable but my love for gt is too much. Sport started off poorly but if ppl did there research, you would know that yamauchi was comfortable w the transition into next gen racing and would add content later on for free. To add, gt actually cares bout there fans, don't know the case bout forza, i haven't bern put in a situation where the game treated me bad or was jus bad in general for me to actually think the ppl who created the game didn't care about me or other playing it.
I'm Phazor owning both I would argue that the best Forza can do is compete with GT if they addressed everything wrong with the game and the areas it falls short. That said, it’s just my opinion and I don’t think my opinion is the be all and end all. I think where GT is concerned it’s a prime example of quality over quantity. Then again, as silly as it sounds I’m not a real car enthusiast, I’m more enthusiastic about the skill that’s involved with racing. So maybe if you’re in love with cars, having more of them is a deal breaker. But the few cars GT has are done very well, and not only are they done well, they also interact with the tracks on a deeper level due to the physics being more in depth and the driving being more challenging. So I think you also get more out of each car (and track) on GT, which is what matters more to me. However I am a bit biased as I ended up getting a wheel for my PlayStation and the force feedback brings GT to life. On controller I would argue that Forza has more enjoyable driving than GT on a pad, the rumble in the triggers on the Xbox pad is a deal breaker and I personally prefer the Xbox control - the triggers perform so much better as throttle and break pedals than the triggers on the dual shock which feel cheap in comparison. That said, my very limited experience of forza with a wheel echoes super GT in that wheel users can’t compete, and tbh wheels are where it’s at for racing games, it’s just so immersive. With a pad forza is probably the better game and it’s just lacking a penalty system to be as or more enjoyable than GT played on a pad. But overall GT beats Forza for me hands down if you’re using a wheel. But yeah I’m jabbering on. Basically I think Forza needs to improve their physics a bit, teach players how to race, introduce a penalty system and make a more balanced online in order to offer a comparable (or maybe slightly better) quality to GT. PS - I know what you mean about the chase cam on GT, but right now I really think that using a wheel with the cockpit view is the way to go!
No game has ever taught me about racing as GT Sport did. Its the first and only game where I have the feeling of REAL driving, not just playing. It may lack some cars and track, but that feeling is priceless
@@caseyj8313 not the last one, but yh I played both, horizon and Motorsport. Its great games, both. Each in different way. But even Motorsport was always to me more "arcade"ish. Still great but in GT I always felt more "real".
@@pavolridrich3434 forza shows more realism and makes you feel like your in the game while gran turismo shows you what your car can do I believe forza is always a better game but gran turismo kinda made way for forza but forza has passed gt in the racing category
I don't agree, Forza is great but its more arcade, same like pes and fifa. Both great but different. GT is the best mix of arcade(ish) and sim. Forza is more arcade(ish) but less sim. In GT you feel more (or at least I always felt) like on real car. Car response the way I would expect. And in forza you can't really talk about realism in online, its a pure joke. In GT Sport its like next next gen. But it doesnt necessarily means forza is worse, as I said its the last great game MS has, but feels more arcade on driving model and handling
@@pavolridrich3434 I played both of them and I really saw that forza as for me I only play racing games for the looks I noticed forza looks better than gt but idk which one feels better
That's a damn lie! He's completely biased towards the PlayStation! Before Xbox racing game out, yes they had Sega GT, but 2002 was real good on the Xbox, but once they finally got Forza Motorsport, it was game over then!
GT Sport has just done a better job of making it's driver community just better drivers. There are just more options more newbies to get better at driving such at proper racing techniques and track by track instruction for fast lap times.
Colezy_k GT is a real racing sim. Lewis Hamilton does not see a yellow line when he goes of track to make sure he stay clean. Actually you don't even need that there because if you race enough you know where the track limits are. The thing I like about Forza is that is has a lot of race option for online play, that I think is something GT should copy.
Colezy_k The track limits are always within the white lines. This is very strictly enforced in FIA races, but is loosened a little bit in other races, though indeed unclear exactly how loose.
Reydriel I was just saying that because GT is more racing based. If you just try to follow the racing line, you don't need any additional markers to really tell you where the track limits are. GT Sport will teach you through trial and error. Doesn't matter if it is FIA or just Weekly races. You will get the limits that you need to adhere to. Forza 7 came out first and they still don't have a full track limit/penalty system. Never mind the track limits, one thing GT has done is to virtually make it not beneficial to hit other drivers. It is much more beneficial to be patient and a safe driver. I will say this, if I am driving down a real road I really hope the driver behind doesn't play Forza.
@@redhunter1535 *ahem* then why did it get endorsed by the FiA to hold online races then? I've noticed GT lobbies tend to be more sensible than forza lobbies.
Well said, Super GT! My preference is Gran Turismo. Gran Turismo forces a person to be a better driver by learning track limits and imposing a penalty system to discourage rammers and the like. Overall, the driver's skill is better tuned and noticable when play "FM 7"
pingaslord97 FM7 already has a penalty system, but Grand Turismo’s penalty system is retarded. I get 3 second penalties for being wiped off the track in a hairpin. Also the simulation feeling is not there. There is no agression, the cars sound dull and the overall driving feels stiff and 2D. And with the camera angle the cars look like an image overlayed.
I like the way GT Sport makes you feel. It makes you feel welcome, festive, interested, and excited for not just about cars and its history, but also for history in other subjects. I also like that it gives you the feeling that any one can race no matter who you are and that everyone is there to play fair.
Love how thoroughly you cover both games. I grew up with gran turismo but never got to try gt sport. This video really makes me want to get a PS4 specifically for that game
@@Super_GT I will buy the PS5 just for GT7. Im an Xbox, PC Person, played all forzas from FM3 on. Also i want some real racing instead of "the winner is who can escape the carnage"
The last great racing game I bought was Forza 2, before that, GTA Spec-though I also have Dirt 2. I just bought GT Sport a couple of days ago: it feels WAY better than A Spec-and that game blew my mind. With that said, off road physics still seem rubbish (nothing changes there)-which doesn't worry me: it just means there are some wasted tracks in the game. Dirt 2 shits all over it. I hear that the driving physics are optimised for road cars in GT, and break down/are simplified more the faster the car. I can believe that, as A Spec was exactly the same. It's a perfect excuse to buy two driving games! Sport for production cars with road tires (my favourite anyway, as I love sliding all over the place), Project Cars 2 for proper high end racing cars.
i'm gonna get a ps5 specifically for gran turismo 7. i'm not up-to-date on ps5 backwards compatibility. but, if theres backwards compatibility, then "hallelujah! never playing xbox again!" i still do hope that gt7 will get a steam release, though.
I haven't played any of this generation's Forzas, but I've enjoyed the older ones for many years. That said, GT Sport is clearly trying to create an actual culture of sporting drivers online and I respect this a lot
Gran Turismo has the better physics by a landslide(although that doesn't mean it's more fun). Forza 7, the impact physics are crazy, the acceleration is overt especially on low-end cars, over-steer doesn't mess you up at all, and you feel like you are driving on ice. That being said, I completely understand what you mean by "Gran Turismo feels repetitive", because you do get a very clinical... non-engaging feeling. The thing that usually makes a game fun is the gameplay and not the realism, so sometimes Forza 7 can just be more fun on principle. I've played older Gran Turismo's too, and the handling on those games is WAY more stiff than modern GT, to a point where you are forced to drive how they want you to. In the end it's difficult to say which one is more FUN. But if you are like me and you've been driving for recreation almost everyday since the day you got your permit, GT feels more accurate at this point in time; yet at the same time being able to drive any-car in Forza 7 and not worry about if your braking was off by 5%, and still be able to win a race, then yeah Forza can be more fun.
Eisa S Great comment. Agree with what you're saying. Depends what you want from the game really, whether it be fun or realism. That will decide which one has the better physics in a way.
Eisa S I’m pretty sure that the impact physics are realistic, but since the damage is not like beamng and the car won’t crumble up at a high speed impact the cars just bounce of each other, but I don’t know if it’s true
Lol... I'm guessing u have no physics education. Gt physics may be the worst in driving games of this gen. I'm sure ure a better driver in gt but that's cuz ure being babysat..xoxo
gt sport has no car body roll, no burning rubber, fake collision sound (singular, as in one digitally created collision sound for every car and type of collision surface), no options for customization or even to turn traction control off. who in their right mind would prefer gt sport i do not know. even the background is bland compared to forza 7. i feel sorry for you gt guys, i'd rather play a mobile racer lmao
My opinion: Menu / UI: GT Sport Soundtrack: GT Sport Career: Forza 7 Content: Forza 7 Graphics: GT Sport Gameplay: TIE Physics: TIE Tuning: Forza 7 Customization: Forza 7 Sound: GT Sport Value: GT Sport Multiplayer: GT Sport Features: TIE Refinement: GT Sport Settings: Forza 7 Gran Turismo Sport: 7 Forza 7: 5 Tie: 3
yeah super gt lost tall credibility when he said the physics are similar but GT sport feels better on a wheel.. That's literally the best way to asses the physics. If forza sucks on a wheel it has shit physics.
Brilliant review with well thought out balanced arguments. Surprisingly this is reflected in the comments (for the most part). Keep up the great content and everyone can keep on enjoying their game of choice. Even though I play GT Sport I thoroughly enjoy the Forza videos and can see how it's a great game.
Very well done comparison. I think GTSport is made for the more serious racer, whereas Forza is for someone new, somebody that can hop in any time, similar to Need For Speed.
Forza needs stuff like practice, quali, flags, and ghosting lapped back markers. GTS adds a lot with tire wear, fuel, and pit stop strategies that is impossible in Forza. I'd love if Forza added challenges or a driving school missions like GTS does to help teach techniques or tracks. A new driver to Forza is encouraged to be aggressive in career races with drivatars and it makes shitty online lobbies.
Gautam Krishna I’m a gts player. I can’t stand f7. It’s just not racing to me but with that said I do kind of like the fact that controller is better. I’d rather them equal like gran turismo but the majority of players can’t afford a steering wheel anyway. The only issue with that is that there is less incentive to buy a wheel with f7 because it is worse
Forza needs to up the server quality and lag compensation. The amount of clips I see where people are jittery and lagging all over is crazy. Whereas GT Sport is alot of the time smooth and can actually get close to other cars without ramming wild.
I´ve waited for that sort of video, and it´s great! Thank you for all the informations. I am a GT Sport player because I only own a PS4+, but I also like your Forza videos. Keep up the good work. :-)
Watching the video for a second time and I realize how weirdly calming this video is. I don’t know why maybe it’s the BG music (amazing choice btw) and editing, timing, choices between subjects, analysis, rapping up, etc etc, but I feel like you could do this. More videos like this would be interesting. GG Super GT.
Gran Turismo Sport motivated me to become a better driver. As with other previous racing games I stuck with automatic gears and drove like a noob. Now I’ve come as far as being an AS driver in GTS, but normally a BS driver. ;-) Forza Motorsport looks to be a good game as well, but both seem to be winners in some way as you’ve stated. If someone gave me an Xbox I wouldn’t hesitate to give it a try.
Ruben g : i agree. I was always an auto player in every racing game because i was just too lazy to come to grips with manual. GT sport built the confidence in me and encouraged that.
Reading how GTS encouraged you to improve as a driver is something Forza has long needed. I don't think the game ever had any incentive to get better, aside from more credits from racing a higher difficulty? Does that make someone a better driver, or more likely to win by any means? I haven't played a Granturismo title in a long time, but just from what I see, Polyphony really put the effort in with this title. Forza 7 feels rubber stamped. More of what was in 6, but few substantial improvements, beyond graphics and number of cars.
Well I've been playing Fm7, never automatic, I love everything abt forza it has enough technicalities of motorsport driving and set aside some room for me to have fun with customizations. I've played gt, my main issue with it is the fact the all cars seem to handle the same, the same weight transfer and suspension. They feel the same on gt.
Could add how developper respect player. Forza miss huge parts at launch and they dont listen to player. Gran turismo feels like their dev work harder to satify every body
Tommy Landry I feel like turn10 are listening to their fans too. Every update the game gets better, they add things the community wants like time attack and drift suspension.
Yeah, but the next forza is soon to be out and they have just add this feature we ask from the begining. Also, it's been a while since I've played but can you now hotlap and tune your car while in the session like you could in the previous forza? That was the kind of bad decision I was refering
Forza 7 is definitely my go to fun racing game where you can do multiple challenges with the amount of vehicles they have where as GTSport is definitely the go to for competitive racing
GT Sport hands down for me, Gameplay > everything else. People still play Richard Burns Rally these days because how good the gameplay is in that game, not because of the graphics etc.
I’ll be a granturismo fan forever. Started there, having trouble getting used to other games. I’d quite like special editions of gt. Like classics, saloon racing or ralley. With the E. The Safari ralley first up
4:10 - holly crap, this is first time when I see that light effect in any game. I mean the way how lights reflects from shining surface in headlights depending of angle.
It's not just track limits but they need a penalty system for driver contact as well. Sucks that the guy behind you can just punt you off the track , ruin your race and then continue along their merry way like nothing happened. GT Spot makes in undesirable to race dirty.
SillySinStorm I was in a Forza GT race on Yas Marina short last night and I was in 2nd right. But they guy in 1st kept extending the corners in classic yas marina fashion so I had to do the same to keep the same distance behind. Then with 2 laps left the guy behind me punts me into the wall at the chicane because he couldnt pass when I was driving defensive on each turn. So naturally after that I punted him off at the end of the straight to teach him a lesson. I raced cleanly for 16 laps until this dude puts me into a wall then he deserved the same punishment. He could've just passed me on the straight
Kyle Lyons Yas gives me nightmares to be honest. Such a griefers/cutters paradise. Hoping T10 implement a decent penalty system that deters the fuckwits.
Gran Turismo has so much more love put into the cars. Detailed real time reflections, not just on the outside but in the inside of the car. Real time dashboards, every gauge on the dashboards in GT are real time including the odometer and realistic physics!
I will refer people to this video when they ask me which game they should buy. Great stuff. All I do on youtube these days is watch videos from the likes of you, kie, eeeeries, trl_lightning, tidgney, z28, f4h_rosso, and when I'm not on youtube I'm playing gt sport. I think I have a problem, lol. Edit: Pissed myself when it showed you liking the Pizza Hut logo.
Update in 2021, everything is the same but Forza 7 players are a tad more respectful from what I have experienced, not sure if anyone has any varying opinions, but compared to launch year, FM7 has gotten a bit better and good battles are a bit easier to come by, I suppose as the core player base has been established and all the kids left
forza 7 is better in every conceivable way lol. gran turismo is nothing but stock cars, lower resolution, blander backgrounds, fake collision sound (singular, one sound for every type of collision), no car body roll, no options to turn on traction control or car customizations past livery... mobile racers are better than gt sport
Gran turismo has lots of different cars, not as many as Forza ofc but they go from stock Cars to Lmp1s or even prototypes. There's an option to disable TCS and yes, there is bodyroll. Customization is completely free in terms of putting anything you like on the car. Backgrounds are inspired in realistic circuits so It is what It is. Comparing GTsport to a mobile game is like comparing arma3 or Squad to fortnite
Forza 7 just doesn't have any good rules to make people drive better and is why it isn't as good. Hopefully both GT7 and the next Forza can improve their rules or enforce some new rules to stop the carnage and punting.
You are 100% about the exaggeration of the differences between engine layouts in Forza. I never heard someone describe it before but that's very accurate. The rear engine cars feel overly like they're dragging butt. Its like they literally decided to make RR feel like the opposite of FF when there is actually far more nuisance. Also theres a traction issue I can't put my finger on.
I still have yet to play GTS. I’m an Xbox player tho but I must say, GTS looks way better. The graphics are astonishing. Gameplay seems smooth. Car sounds are even better than on FM7. I really can’t wait to get my hands on GTS. But I love FM7. So fun, entertaining to watch, the game looks really good even on a Xbox One S and 1080 tv. But even better on my X and my 4K tv. Both games really look beautiful tho. I just enjoy good racing games :)
OFR League If this was your comment, let's say, november last year.. yes, you wasted 60 bucks. Now tho, it's a whole other story. The game is an awesome experience and yes it gets addicting. Especially when you feel you are improving and getting better racing experiences.
you didn't waste your money. far from it. even as someone who doesn't love racing games, in the time I've spent playing it I can tell you its a great title overall.
Forza Motorsport 7 was my first sim after playing arcades and sim-cades for years. I really love playing it as it's playable with a keyboard. This has to be one of my most favourite games.
That’s the beauty of owning an X Box and a PlayStation. The diversity I’ve been offered. Play with my friends on PS4, but I chill and boot my Forza games. Just bought FM7 (Ultimate Edition) it was so cheap I couldn’t believe my eyes. I immediately bought it and now the game should be installed today. GTSport I can never betray though, it’s been with me since 2017 and I played it constantly, got all the 20,000,000Cr cars and absolutely loved it. One thing I could add, I’m a person who enjoys quantity a bit more than quality, but don’t get me wrong if a game is dog then I’ll hate it no matter how many cars it offers. But FM7 has a different feel to GT Sport and I like it. I love the diversity of cars so it’s very fun to play. GT Sport makes me feel like a real racer with the realism and how the game forces you to remember the tracks and how to take turns efficiently. Overall, I’ll say it’s GT Sport. Don’t forget the music in GT Sport 😍
Cockpit cam fixes that... but you'd actually have to know how to drive. Chase cam reminds of when I was a kid in the 80s playing Pole Position... before I could actually drive.
You didn’t talk about GTS fresh ass sound track. Also, the rewarding sound of getting gold in anything. I mean that sound just makes me feel proud. I don’t know how the music is in forza, but man GTsport is worth it just for that.
I think that you can fault Forza 7 graphically quite a bit. To me overall it looks in comparison to GT Sport outdated, especially in terms of lighting. The shadows may be a bit flickery or blurry in GT Sport, but in Forza they are so dulled down, barely visible, which gives the tracks a very bland feeling. Just compare the shadow work with PCars 2 or Assetto Corsa, they add so much more depth to the image. In order to keep the game running in native 4k or 60fps locked Forza intentionally has often cloudy or relatively dark weather so they dont have to implement too many shadows on the tracks. It's actually very annoying once you have your eye on that matter. Also the body roll of the cars looks a bit off in Forza, cars look too stiff. And the reflections work is really really bad in Forza, sometimes cars appear matte. Then there is the tail and brake lights issue, at times they appear off in Forza, you barely see sometimes if the car in front of you brakes. And at night you sometimes don't even see the cars in front of you because they have no tail lights. There is something really off with the Forza lighting engine and i think it's dulled down in comparison to FM5 and FM6 in order to accomodate dynamic weather and native 4k (on the X). As an overall package GT Sport is graphically superior if you are not only looking at resolution.
In general, most GT players use TCS and ABS, even if it’s just to launch off the line, you’re still using an assist. GT game physics are also easy to drive and on rails, FM is hard and like driving on ice. You’d be slow AF in Forza Motorsport leagues because you’d actually have to deal with car movement and oversteer and brake locking, wow finally on GT7 polyphony decided to bring brake locking into the game physics? Really? And you wanna talk about what players of what game are trash? 💀
I feel like GTSPORT was made by people who genuinely love not only cars, but motorsport as a whole. Both games are great, but GT edges it for me. Great content, super gt! Keep them coming!
Yes, it's clear that GT Sport was made by real racers/otherwise (which we know from GT 5 and the others). Forza was clearly made/published by Microsoft with raw money and power, but don't really know much about motorsport, or at least, watered it down for the Xbox masses. Almost all GT games are far greater than all the Forza series, in terms of sim racing.
I like both tbh. I'm a Xbox guy who took advantage of the times and recently purchased a PS4 Pro. First game i picked up for it was GT Sport. Imo Forza 7 is more fun/engaging, but GT sport has the better atmosphere, it's music plays alot into that. I can't get with the rock music in Forza. The best Forza atmosphere i ever experienced was the 4th interation, I wish Turn 10 would continue on with that. Polyphony Digital is more consistent in that regard.
Awesome review! I love that you went through both games thoroughly. I haven’t played GTS, but from watching your vids it seems to definitely be the better option for quality racing. That said I keep a pretty close eye on Forza and things will continue to change big time in the months to come. T10 needed a wake up call and FM7 was just that. They continue to work on this game and it’s come a long long way.
Many thanks. Yes, GT is the better game for quality of racing but as you say, Turn 10 are working on improving Forza with the regulations system and other things so it worth monitoring.
On the subject of assists, I really love GT's driving cones (even though they can murder you or cause dope bunny-hops). they really help with finding the breaking zones/apexes without being completely in your face like a driving line. Has any other racing games done this?
I think you absolutely nailed it! I own both games as well and man, I truly agree with everything you mentioned. I also think that over time GT Spoet will get better and better since they are adding more cars and especially more tracks. We’ve also seen a new car class in the Gr.2 group. Forza 7 while adding good new features lately still doesn’t have that fresh content feel. And no, hordes of car packs don’t cut it anymore for me. Actually there is 1 thing I disagreed on and that is the GT Sport time trials. I absolutely love comparing my own times with different cars on a certain track and that is something that is possible in GT Sport and not in Forza. A few things you didn’t mention in favor of GT Sport is the qualifying laps to get a good race position and partial VR support, also scapes and taking photos is just better in GT Sport. And last but not least the music in GT Sport is a TON better than those cheap guitar riffs from Forza. And 2 things in favor of Forza that you didn’t mention yet is that it’s also playable on Windows and it has the better controller (the PS4 triggers are too small and don’t have rumble). I love both games as well and I also favor GT Sport.
Just started watching some of your videos after getting back into GT Sport. I'm gonna have to get a PS+ card so I can race online again. Your videos are inspiring me at the moment!
GT Sport is the best for competitive Online gaming where as Forza is more of a 'game' for all - regardless of whether you game online or not, regardless of your skill level etc. I do think the fact that Forza also has dynamic weather that has an impact (ie not 'cosmetic') adds more to the game than having 'static' weather. The fact that 'any' track can be wet or dry, even change during adds a lot more to the game but in GT, the weather is 'fixed'. The SP in GT is more of an extended tutorial - at least until they added the Leagues after launch. At the end of the day though, you are more likely to buy either based on your console of choice rather than because one suits you better than the other. The closest to Forza on PS4 is probably Project Cars in terms of SP, content, dynamic weather/tracks etc. GT Sport was built for Online racing from the start and therefore has a lot of things in place to try and make it as fair and rule heavy as real Motorsport. Forza was built more as a 'complete' game and successor to the other games in the franchise where 'online' is more of a 'multi-player' with friends or community. Its much more rounded and built for a much wider range of 'gamers' - from the casual to the racing enthusiast. Whilst GT is geared more to the 'enthusiast', its not really for casuals but will accommodate enthusiast 'beginners'.
I too love how the car feels through the controller on Forza, and how the cars look. But playing GT1 on PS1 when I was a kid makes me a huge GT fan. I wish the menu and races we're set up just like they were in GT3 and earlier. That'd be great. Racing is often more fun on Forza but the career just feels the same all the way through.
Content-wise, GT and FM switched places, where'as GT used to be the leading brand in car and track porn. GT still leads in replay cinema. FM only has one or two replay camera angles for an entire race. GT exhaust notes still sound muffled and super compressed, and FM exhaust can be a little exaggerated, like how stock economy cars already sound like they have race exhaust. I'm all about amount of content tho, so FM is better for me but GT is still my religion. I just wish Polyphony stopped being so "by the book" on licensing all the time. Turn 10 is a little more reckless when it comes to that, and you get a more cut loose game. It took GT all these YEARS just to get a semi-satifactory level of cosmetic customization due to asking permissions every step of the way, SMH. You know the old saying about football and rugby? GT is a hooligan sport played by gentlemen, FM is a gentlemen sport played by hooligans, lol 😂
I think that both games don't have enough tracks. I vastly prefer GT Sports track list though, sadly missing many of my favorites from GT6. In general I liked GT6's content more than GT Sport's content and FM4's content more than FM7's content. They just removed so much stuff in both games, pretty sad.

Turn10 When it comes to Forza online, Steve is 100% correct. I stopped playing FM7 because of the atrocious multiplayer. 1. There is ZERO incentive to drive clean, and lots of incentive to drive dirty. 2. Why are back markers allow ruin the race for everyone. They should be in ghost mode! 3. Why are there standing starts with the fields so bunched up. They should be rolling starts, with a little extra space. 4. Why have simulation damage in a public lobbies? Yes it creates realism, as you have to return to the pits, for repairs, after someone smashes you into the wall, sometimes twice in one race. My favorite multiplayer WAS Endurance Forza GT. However, I would get rid of simulation damage and use fuel and tire wear instead, with one mandatory's pit stop ( laps would be calculated to make races last around 20 minutes). I RECOMMEND AGAINST BUYING FM7 TO ALL MY FRIENDS, AND ANYONE WHO WILL LISTENS, UNTIL THE ABSOLUTELY APPALLING CONDITION OF MULTIPLAYER IS FIXED!
I've been playing Forza for 7 years, I've never played Granturismo, but I feel like Granturismo is better. I'm gonna compare them in these categories and give you an explanation. Physics & Realism: Granturismo Sounds: Forza Motorsport 7 ( We wanna hear cars, not vacuum cleaners ) Cars: Granturismo ( Forza has stupid cars) Online: Granturismo ( *Punting Porsches* ) Single Player: Granturismo Nostalgic Reference to Older Games: Forza Motorsport 7
The sound the cars make has its reason. The cars are slightly modified to become a better race car. The change in the turbo or even in the motor itself changes everything. Do you understand?
Physics wise to me it seems like the Forza cars rotate too much around their center point rather than around the front axle. Looks much more arcady due to that.
I used to play a lot of project cars and it was good but undrivable with a controller. As in gt sport the controller is equal to a steeringwheel. My only fault about gt sport is the lack of technical adjustments you can do. LittleThings like tyre pressure that can help you gain some time on some tracks. But your vid is some of the best comparison vids ive seen in a while. Youve put some time in it, well done.
I can see why you think GT Sport is better. I got the game and was pretty quickly disappointed in it though. Last GT game I played though was GT3 and I loved that game. I'm more of a single player kind of guy though. I liked the driver challenges but what sucked was how the AI plays. That was an instant turn off. I also missed the vehicle customization with parts. I would have liked manufacturer's cups and I liked how they had used cars in GT3. It just felt more limited compared to what I remember in the series. Forza has always played like Forza hence why I moved more towards playing that series. I thought the vehicle customization was way better especially with how you can paint the vehicles. I think they could have fleshed out the the single player experience. I think though they have been really pushing multiplayer in these games and pretty much all games these days. As a crappy player I don't enjoy multiplayer in Forza that much mainly because of all the punting and wrecking. You run into vengeful drivers too and sometimes you get knocked into a guy who gets all pissed off and only saw you and so they hunt you down and run you off the road. Really sucks. Definitely would like to see more of a ranking system within the game.
ı suppose it falls down to what supergt said, forza is more about cars, and gt more about the racing aspect. career modes of previous GT games have always been about the cars, building a garage of good cars and tuning them and all. but gt sport is more about the racing, it's a more focused game than the previous ones.
I agree. The last GT game I totally loved was the first one on the PSX. I loved the fact that I had a limited budget, had to buy some junky old used car and slowly tune it. The act of progression from rags to riches was extremely appealing to me. I've still bought GT Sport as I plan to use it to become better at racing games and learn some techniques.
MajesticLion Damage in GT is mostly mechanical (if it's turned on at all), but no visual damage. It does not aim to try and simulate that part of motorsport :P
Visual damage does occur in Gran Turismo Sport, but at a limited level due to licensing issues. Polyphony does focus on visual and mechanical damage, but can't go overboard because of said licensing issues.
I subscribed a while ago but I gotta say this is the best review comparison I've ever seen since RUclips was launched. Long time GT player here but stopped after 4. Been playing a lot of Dirt Rally 2.0 and I hateeee it. I was always skeptical of Forza but now I really only enjoy Single Player progression, learning, and now I wanna play with multiplayer. I like GT's etiquette system so BOOM. Spending my money now. Thank you man.
Agree with most of it, but i think gt sport is alot better physics wise. It feels so darn good even with controller. Where forza feels floaty. But the rest yes forza has more content, but gt sport is the best racer of the moment in my opinion! Love your content btw!
I like the fact that in GT Sport because each daily event is based on classes (Group 1, 2, 3 etc) it doesnt matter too much whether or not you have the fastest car for that class as BoP is applied. There are certainly cars that are faster and are better at certain tracks but in Forza you can have 300 cars available for S class but you'll really only need 1 or 2 because they are just so much better then everything else despite having the same S700 rating as anything else in the lobby can have. I think this kinda negates the economy issue a bit for GT Sport especially seeing as completing certain events and driving 25 miles a day will net you a free car spin, though it is always annoying getting cars you already have as they arent worth anything. In GTS they also see far more committed to keeping cars balanced unlike forza as their foreseeable future is GTS while with Forza its always the next game in the pipeline
I feel like Gran Turismo captures the essence of motorsport, whereas The Forza games when they first came out with that game, catered more to the casual gamers. People who played Gran Turismo since the first game are fans of the game, but also play the game for the racing experience. In Forza, its different, especially the online portion of Forza 7. Polyphony Digital have always done a good job at teaching new & experienced players to finesse their driving technique, whereas Forza doesn't have this emphasis. I remember playing earlier Gran Turismo games where you couldn't even start racing until you cleared the licences. Forza is for casual gamers, Gran Turismo is for serious players who want a better, cleaner, more professional racing experience. That's the difference here. Great video btw.
Forza Motorsport needs to skip an extra year on the current release cycle, so Turn10 can take their time and tune up the online experience for Forza 7, in preparation for more of a comprehensive overhaul in the eventual Forza 8. I think it came out recently that T10 said they hadn't even started on Forza 8 yet, so maybe that is what they are doing. The GT games take forever to come out, and they have a fraction of the overall content - but what is there has clearly had more polish and attention paid to it. Forza Horizon exists for casuals and people who don't mind smashing and bashing a bit. Forza Motorsport need to refine their game for a more authentic racing experience. I don't care about the driver rating, but some sort of sportsmanship system is a must - even more than the penalty system they are currently putting in. Penalties aren't going to discourage a dedicated idiot - you need to segregate them from the people who just want to race. Make Forza 8 a launch game for the next Xbox in 2020, and take the time to make it truly superb again. It kinda feels like Horizon took the crown as the flagship series with Horizon 3, and I think T10 need to take it back.
Stop me right where? I already wrote my post. And paid attention to what, exactly? The Forza games for the last several years have had a tick-tock release cycle - Motorsport one year, Horizon the next. My opinion is simply that they need to give 2019 a miss, in order to improve and polish Forza 7, and get the Motorsport series back to a good place as far as online is concerned. If that is already their plan, then great.
@@Scottoest Of course, they won't and don't need to (non-sim racing-wise). Forza is one of the most popular franchises ever, having made them 1 billion dollars. They have both the fandom and money to not care at all. I don't think they will ever beat GT Sport -- and that's by design. Forza, more so Horizon, is meant to be simcade/arcade, not sim, for the Xbox masses, whereas GT is made to be a sim for the masses, and has sold 90 million copies to prove its worth! GT has always, and will always, be better. If you want unrealistic simcade, then the Need for Speed series is better than Forza, overall.
Don't you think the cars exteriors in forza look too stylized? Either the colors are too saturated or the surfaces are too reflective I don't know it's uncanny.
I've been A GT fan since GT2 and I must admit I have grown tired of the grind for cash to buy cars in GT, The better cars are too expensive, so you have to Grind to get them. That was fine when GT and Forza were the only titles for console but now we have P Cars2 and Assetto Corsa which focus more on the drive, not the garage, Which has spoiled me a little. Forza Motorsport has A better sense of speed and better crash effects and damage. But the biggest factors for me are Real Tracks, wheel implementation and online experience. GT covers two out of the three better. but Forza will soon have Race Regulation, and I think it will be enough to tilt things back on the side of Forza Motorsport only if the lobbies stay full as they currently are. Personally I believe these titles are fighting for second and third position, because P CARS 2 has secured the #1 position LOL!
I'm totally agree with You, Forza is a good car game with a lot of cars track etc but in GT Sport You have great Motorsport feeling and sportsmanship. In GT You always found equal rivals no Mather that You are A, A+, S or E,D ... You always found good fun and great competition as I said Aliens have fun and Sunday drivers who lose 10 seconds on each lap to top player, enjoy Motorsport on their own level. I like philosophy of PD with a lot of free updates to develop game. It's great idea to keep players with the game. If they had another philosophy like put 1000 cars and 100 track and no updates everyone have fun a lot of time but constantly less and less players will be with title. Now it's great. I'm enjoy GT from October 2017 and I never was bored because every single race is different story. We have great community and we create our own championships and leagues. One of the most important thing in GT is fact that Polyphony develop the game but We create vision of that game. We all had issues with penalties system but they try to improve. They work very hard on that and now I Think it's nearly perfect. It's very hard to write optimum scripts that penalty system but now Is OK. GT is a big brand and I think we will have more E sports event and more money maybe in that and more some kind of project like GT academy. Pioneer program for young player who always dream about racing but don't have possibilities to even try. Motorsport was always be expensive hobby but now... Thanks the Simracing games we have a chance to be a part of that world which yesterday was only for few. Great job Steve cheers from Poland SRC_madgreen

I do prefer forza but gt sport is good too but
@@AhmadGalalYT this explains why Super GT is so good ;)
I prefer Gran Turismo personally but as long as people are enjoying their favorite racing game it doesn't matter
Schindlers fist Very good point. 👍👍👍

"Yes."

No game has ever taught me about racing as GT Sport did. Its the first and only game where I have the feeling of REAL driving, not just playing.
It may lack some cars and track, but that feeling is priceless
Have you played Forza I'm not trying to be a facetious that's a serious question because that's how I feel when I play Forza Motorsport 7

Colezy_k
The track limits are always within the white lines.
Betters drivers ahahaha gt fanbase is made of kids
@@redhunter1535 *ahem* then why did it get endorsed by the FiA to hold online races then? I've noticed GT lobbies tend to be more sensible than forza lobbies.
Well said, Super GT! My preference is Gran Turismo. Gran Turismo forces a person to be a better driver by learning track limits and imposing a penalty system to discourage rammers and the like. Overall, the driver's skill is better tuned and noticable when play "FM 7"
Jarrod B. Armbrister yeah this comment hasn’t aged well
@@GTAracingUK how is that
@@GTAracingUK true
pingaslord97 FM7 already has a penalty system, but Grand Turismo’s penalty system is retarded. I get 3 second penalties for being wiped off the track in a hairpin. Also the simulation feeling is not there. There is no agression, the cars sound dull and the overall driving feels stiff and 2D. And with the camera angle the cars look like an image overlayed.
Forza took basically every good feature from GT now.
I like the way GT Sport makes you feel. It makes you feel welcome, festive, interested, and excited for not just about cars and its history, but also for history in other subjects. I also like that it gives you the feeling that any one can race no matter who you are and that everyone is there to play fair.

Very well done comparison.
I think GTSport is made for the more serious racer, whereas Forza is for someone new, somebody that can hop in any time, similar to Need For Speed.
Agree with that.
GT sport has arcade physics though, so i wouldn't say the "serious racer" more like the competitive racer.

The incentive to drive clean is a nice touch.
Forza's just a lot more casual. The fact that you can do better with a controller than a wheel kind of sums that up.
David hopefully they can fix that in the next forza to make it advantageous to use a wheel
Much of those features have been present since Forza motorsport 5 besides qualifying.
Now I’ve come as far as being an AS driver in GTS, but normally a BS driver. ;-)
Forza Motorsport looks to be a good game as well, but both seem to be winners in some way as you’ve stated. If someone gave me an Xbox I wouldn’t hesitate to give it a try.
Ruben g : i agree. I was always an auto player in every racing game because i was just too lazy to come to grips with manual. GT sport built the confidence in me and encouraged that.
Ruben g : got same opinion, used to not be competitive but gt sport has just turned it around for me
Reading how GTS encouraged you to improve as a driver is something Forza has long needed.
Automatic? For years?
You are the weakest link. Goodbye.

Forza 7 needs to hurry up with their penalty system. Despite the new track limits people still corner cut. Hoping the penalty system reins them in.

Many thanks! Yeah, that sounds unhealthy hahahaa!
Update in 2021, everything is the same but Forza 7 players are a tad more respectful from what I have experienced, not sure if anyone has any varying opinions, but compared to launch year, FM7 has gotten a bit better and good battles are a bit easier to come by, I suppose as the core player base has been established and all the kids left
gran turismo is quality over quantity and forza is the other way around
Gran turismo sport is quality over quantity gran turismo 5 and 6 in terms of cars were not.
@@kylecalobtraceharper yeah, the supra on GT6 was recycled from GT4
forza 7 is better in every conceivable way lol. gran turismo is nothing but stock cars, lower resolution, blander backgrounds, fake collision sound (singular, one sound for every type of collision), no car body roll, no options to turn on traction control or car customizations past livery... mobile racers are better than gt sport
@@jorgemartiperez4747 they are all stock cars, does TCS off give you the ability to burn rubber? or is it a fake option XD
Steve A-B does Supercars of London exhaust expert (glasses) style review. Good job Steve, nice reflective evaluation. GT Sport all the way for me.
I bought Gt Sport in a ps store sale, best fifteen quid I ever spent, put some serious hours into it. Forza 7 gets boring quick IMO

Literally ordered GT Sport last night so I'm coming into this video with hopes that I didn't waste my money..
Pretty much me in a nutshell tbh! Can't wait for it to come - I'll be waiting at the window for the next few days..
OFR League It's amazing, welcome aboard dude
OFR League If this was your comment, let's say, november last year.. yes, you wasted 60 bucks. Now tho, it's a whole other story. The game is an awesome experience and yes it gets addicting. Especially when you feel you are improving and getting better racing experiences.
you didn't waste your money. far from it. even as someone who doesn't love racing games, in the time I've spent playing it I can tell you its a great title overall.
Its a great game, its even better with the new tyre model, def not wasted any money.
Forza and GT should make a baby!
Content, Fun, Arcade, Career, Awesome - *Forza*
Graphics, Simcade, Competitiveness, Fun, Awesome - *Gran Turismo*
You can fix the stiffness of the camera in gran turismo just go to camera settings
Unknown Hostile it’s not the stiffness of the camera it’s the stiffness in the physics.
But can you make the forza camera stay still because it’s actually much better when it doesn’t move
Cockpit cam fixes that... but you'd actually have to know how to drive. Chase cam reminds of when I was a kid in the 80s playing Pole Position... before I could actually drive.
UNKNOWN HOSTILE good that’s kind of a turnoff
How? It's unplayable
You didn’t talk about GTS fresh ass sound track. Also, the rewarding sound of getting gold in anything. I mean that sound just makes me feel proud. I don’t know how the music is in forza, but man GTsport is worth it just for that.
The menu music in GT Sport is just eargasm. So good. But the other thing is I want more Content so FM7 takes the win imo
The music in Forza is not good at all, most people I play with turns it off.
As an overall package GT Sport is graphically superior if you are not only looking at resolution.
hi, will you have an update 2021 version video of this topic? Looking forward to it! :D
Don’t forget about Forza’s self learning AI, it mimics your friend’s driving, hopefully with the next generation it gets even better
No, please, this feature isn't nearly as impressive as the developers said it would be. The AI is still trash.
@@pogtuber5146 forza drivers in general aren't really impressive
@@TheUltimateHacker007 okay TCS and ABS
@@ashdog236 All assists are off on my end. But nice projection
Someone who love cards don't do standards cards that looks like trash.
They do dignity to all the cars.
Like Forza do.
I'm not sure if other games have done that to be honest but I agree with you. They helped me to get used to the game when I first started.
Motogp has an assist like this. Much better than using a racing line to learn a track
"bowling alley at turn one".....this should be on the back of the Forza 7 box.
cole delahooke _Forza: Pinball Edition_ included free with every (multiplayer) game! =P
That's hilarious.
Lol... Ur funny 😀 I'm a big fan of you & your channel 😎
Cones! They're a great aid when you're new to a track. (GTS)
the sound of gran turismo sport UI make my heart beats faster.
Would like to see a revist of this, one year on.
Or even now, two years on.
Fanboy wars incoming
Nah, there is nothing to fight about. GT Sport is a clear winner this gen.
Lmao forza 6 is alot better than 7 and gt
11910blackops no war fm7 lost
Spoiler: OnRush is the best car game.
Hi, just want to thank you for the level of detail and depth you go to while comparing these two games. I've bought GT Sport.
Thanks for adding the description and saving me half of my day lol
I think that both games don't have enough tracks. I vastly prefer GT Sports track list though, sadly missing many of my favorites from GT6.
In general I liked GT6's content more than GT Sport's content and FM4's content more than FM7's content. They just removed so much stuff in both games, pretty sad.

in my opinion if you want a GOOD online racing go with GT SPORT.
Turn10
When it comes to Forza online, Steve is 100% correct.
Since Forza Motorsport 4, they went downhill. Horizon is the only saving grace for the series, and that says a lot about a circuit racer...
After spending multiple hours on both games I feel GT sport is better
I've been playing Forza for 7 years, I've never played Granturismo, but I feel like Granturismo is better. I'm gonna compare them in these categories and give you an explanation.
Physics & Realism: Granturismo
Sounds: Forza Motorsport 7 ( We wanna hear cars, not vacuum cleaners )
Cars: Granturismo ( Forza has stupid cars)
Online: Granturismo ( *Punting Porsches* )
Single Player: Granturismo
Nostalgic Reference to Older Games: Forza Motorsport 7
The sound the cars make has its reason. The cars are slightly modified to become a better race car. The change in the turbo or even in the motor itself changes everything. Do you understand?
Physics better in GT? I think you didnt played Forza 7, maybe you played Forza Horizon
Physics wise to me it seems like the Forza cars rotate too much around their center point rather than around the front axle. Looks much more arcady due to that.
What a video ! Thank you for making the correct verdict. You have a new subscriber now. Happy days
I have an Xbox one s so I obviously play Forza but to be honest I never really liked the physics of Gran Torismo. Just a personal opinion
@@huleyn135 I like to have both though.
Hence why I like Forza more than GT now.
What about sound comparisons? Tire, engine, shifting, curbs, crash sounds, etc. Also damage.
MajesticLion
Damage in GT is mostly mechanical (if it's turned on at all), but no visual damage. It does not aim to try and simulate that part of motorsport :P
Visual damage does occur in Gran Turismo Sport, but at a limited level due to licensing issues.
Polyphony does focus on visual and mechanical damage, but can't go overboard because of said licensing issues.
StealthDesigns there is visual damage. It’s just limited
I think you meant to reply to Reydriel :P
I would say gran turismo is better because of their online matching is so much better
Nvmd I only have PC...... fuck
Forza just need penalties, online rankings, less meme cars and more ACTUAL race cars
*Gran Turismo 4 flashbacks*
Forza is better anyway because it has content lol
Penalties? If another driver makes you make a mistake then the penaltie is for you. I wish they not implement penalties in the next Forza.
Yes and a system to match player skill levels and sportsmanship.
you've won my subscription at marriage question LOL
FORZA 7 IS 100000000 TIMES BETTER
Don't you think the cars exteriors in forza look too stylized? Either the colors are too saturated or the surfaces are too reflective I don't know it's uncanny.
LastFreedom They’re paint shaders look like plastic and the lighting has some strange instagram filter on it.
Great job Steve cheers from Poland
