Brilliant! Thank you so much for posting this!! Put in new dual pane windows about 2 years ago now and been stressing out every time I try to get screens out to clean the windows, and give up. WHO KNEW I could just lift the windows out of the tracks. YOU are a life saver. Still couldn't get screens out but cleaned all my windows and tracks today, and just brushed down the screens. Thank you, thank you, thank you! :)
Thank you! We recently moved to this house, it's monsoon season, and the storms are pounding a large window with two sliders. The tracks get a LOT of water. After watching this I'm ready to take out the sliders, remove the track, and make sure the weep holes are clean. Thanks again!
Hey Bruce, glad it helped. Let me know if the holes were blocked and if you were able to get through the rains! Subscribe and share. Any other videos I can make to help out let me know, always looking for new ideas...
Thanks. That was so helpful. After three years I finally got the window out and felt like an idiot for not being able to see that the clip on the left of my window looks completely different from the clip on the right, so much so, that I didn't even know there was a clip on the right. Once I got that, the window just came out effortlessly. Can't take out a window but can get dinner on the table for 6 in less than an hour.
Thank you for posting this! Your video was more helpful than the one produced by my window manufacturer. They didn’t even show how to remove the window or screen!
Hey thank you for the educational video! My college age son closed his window too hard and took it off the track. They are new windows to me so I didn't know what to do? Your easy to follow instructions were on point! Had no problem at all poping the window back on the track! Also at a later time I'll be cleaning the tracks the way you did yours. Glad I found your video.
Hey Kate, I'm glad my video helped you out. He must have slammed it pretty hard to launch it off track! Hope you had a great Christmas, subscribe and share. Happy New Year!
Thank you. That helped a lot. However, I have a sliding window, a left stationery pane in the middle and then the third pane seems to be on its track. Being that this is on the 2nd floor, is there a way to remove the middle pane -- there is a lot of debris -- dead leaves, bugs, etc.?
Can to remove the tracks off all windows like that (for example, those which are tall and you open vertically by pushing either the bottom window up or the top window down)?
Great video. I need to replace track. Do you know where to buy track? My window need a 84 inch track. If can not find this length, can I put 2 pieces track? That vinyl double glass window seal is dilated. Can replace seal? Thank!
Thank you for this video as far as removing the window. It would be super helpful if you actually show how to remove the screen as opposed to just verbalizing.
Michael, sorry for the late comment. No, there is no way to remove the fixed side yourself. A window/glass installer can but it's not a normal thing to do to clean a window. There are other options like magnetic tools used to clean the outside as it tracks with he inside tool. Research other cleaning tools for windows, but I would avoid trying to remove the window.
@@MRoberson68 Thanks. Was just hoping for an easy way to allow for a couch to be brought in. Sounds like a smaller couch is needed. Thanks for the feedback.

Hey Debbie, sorry for the late response. Hope you had a Merry Christmas. When you pulled out the track it was pressed in and came out tight. When you re-install it you have to drop it in tilted and then push it down from one side to the other. It snaps in, if it's warped then it has not snapped in the grove yet. I hope tis helps out. Please subscribe and share, Happy New Year to you!
Sorry for the late response. You can’t remove the fixed side only the active side. The fixed side can be removed if broken but by a professional. Not usually removed for cleaning purposes.
I’ve watched several of these videos, I don’t have any trouble getting my windows out, but I have one that I just cannot get back in. I think I’ve used just about every single expletive I know. I got all the other ones back in, but this one is stubborn ass hack. I guess that’s what happens when you buy from budget windows
Kissing bugs sound sweet! Even if the track cover warped, i'd be surprised if you can't get it back in. If not, you can order a plastic track cover from your local window dealer especially if it's Milgard. You might have to go to Home Depot if it's Jeldwen or another brand.

How do you remove the other window ? Only one comes out ?
That is what I want to know!
Slide it over once the other window is out and same process. Lift and remove. Same process in reverse.

Agreed. I literally clicked on this for the screen portion of the demo.
@@laurajean1855 Depends on the screen type. Google removing window screens.
Is there a way to remove the fixed side of the window? Have a couch that wont make a 90 degree turn down the stairs.

They need to teach this in school
How do you get the other side of the window out to clean it?😅

How can I get my tack to get flat again?
It's warped

The bottom track warped.
And there's kissing bugs trying to live underneath the track. Dead ones and live ones ugh.

im just scared i won’t be able to put it back in when i get back from sneaking out 😀
That's really the only reason I'm watching this video. 🤣
@@theyrereal2454 you figure it out?
I never this the window is screen on and I can’t take the screen off plus i can’t get out bc there’s a fence with no key💀
title is misleading..u did not remove the screen..which is challenging & why i watched...interesting..but misleading
Thank you!
