Love the video! I definitely hope for a part 2. If you're taking ideas for scenarios, an interesting idea I've had is: "What if the Taiping were not beaten on the road to Beijing?" If that were to happen, and they'd take Beijing, then they'd have a shot at toppling the power of the Qing. It might be an interesting scenario. There was even a sort of line of succession from Hong Xiuquan to his son in place. The interesting thing would be to see how the "God Worshipping Society" develops, and how China as a whole develops, as the Taiping were in many ways even more isolationist than the Qing.
Thanks. Interesting idea, plus it'd be a good way for me to learn more about the Taiping Rebellion, since aside from a brief summary from WhatifAltHist, I don't know too much about it.
Interesting concept but I don't think it's very plausible, in otl the Hungarian half of the empire prevented them helping the French in the Franco-Prussian war and I don't think they really have a lot to gain from joining this timelines ww1, in all honesty I'd say that for Austria Hungary to join ww1 something has to happen to them, which I can't see happening in this world, though if Princip still assassinates a certain archduke in 1914... things could get interesting
Thanks, glad you liked it, I do try to make them longer but most of the time I don't actually know how long the video is until I've pretty much finished it.
@Patriotic British Mapper yes the Fashoda incident made the scenario more entertaining to watch. In our timeline it could’ve led to an early world war.
This is a very interesting timeline and hope for a part two. Here are some other suggestions for other alternate timelines What if Britain joined WW1 in 1916 What if WW2 started a decade later (1949 - 1955) What if War Plan Red Orange happened (US war plan for war with The Anglo Japanese alliance) What if the Anglo Japanese Alliance remained post 1920 What if the Empires of Europe survived to the modern age and What if the Cold War never ended.
@@patrioticbritishmapper8352 a few more ideas would be What if if operation Unthinkable happened in 1946. What if Britain never Joined the EEC/EU and instead created its own style EEC/EU with its Common Wealth around the same time as they joined the EEC in our own timeline. (Bit more bizarre I know but) What if aliens Invaded during the height of the Cold War.
Most of all, I like the continued Anglo-Japanese Alliance idea. Looking at the impact of that on the world might be really interesting since this friendship between Britain and Japan faced opposition from Britain's dominion governments and the US. Choosing Japan over them could spark some real diplomatic strains.
Cool vid, a part 2 would be nice to see. Also, I just found out something that you might find interesting: (North) Macedonia almost gained independence in 1912 as a monarchy, with Prince Harald of Denmark intending to be its king. Would this be something you’d wanna do? I feel like it could have big implications for the Balkan Wars and WW1.
Wow, I didn't know that. Now that could be very interesting, Perhaps it would be the unlikely catalyst to bring Serbia and Bulgaria onto the same side. I'll have to look into that more, thanks for telling me about it.
@@patrioticbritishmapper8352 No problem. Also it was supposed to be part of a “Balkan Federation” with Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Romania, with the Greek king Constantine as President of the Federation. I personally think its unlikely such a federation would form, but that was another part of the deal I forgot to mention
With both armies well led and organized I can see a stalemate taking place. The thing is though France and Germany hated each other but both had good relations with Britain at the same time
Had France won the Franco-Prussian war wouldn't it also take Luxembourg since Prussia was the one that had blocked its sale in the first place and been one of the peeves the French had vs Prussia?
As the saying goes.... "you can't win every war". In many respects I think France losing the Franco - Prussian war was probably better for it in the long run, since it helped end the old Anglo French rivalry.
There's definitely potential for a part two in this scenario. Could we see the Third French Republic go the way of Weimar; toppled and replaced by a brutal totalitarian regime? Will the Anglo-Prussian Alliance be the start of this world's Allies? And what roles could Russia and Austria play in the future? I really hope we get a continuation here.
I think you've got a good idea for how this version of the Third French Republic might go, granted I'll have to find if France had a "Hitler figure" at the time who I could put in power. And I definitely want to give Austria a bit more screen time in the next one, safe to say a part two is coming, thanks for the support.
This timeline is far better than our reality mostly because even though France is unstable it has not lost anywhere near as many lives as ww1 and same with the rest of the countries, and russia didn't fall to communism and if the next war doesn't happen for a while then Russia should be strong enough to survive and Britain should keep its colonies without ww1
This is actually very realistic, don't even say this isn't supposed to be. Although I think Napoleon would likely push for a new Rhine buffer state separating France from Prussia.
Thanks, and indeed a buffer state in the Rhineland is possible, though I think some of the other great powers might have tried to get involved in the peace process if Napoleon did that, Britain wouldn't want France getting too powerful.
Ayo prussia would steuggle waaaaay more in a modern conflict against russia in the 1890s as the most valuable land in germany is in the parts they control or only partally do.
If he's still in power by the beginning of WW2 then I'd expect that to become a three-way conflict at some point. Trotsky was far more in on Lenin's ideals than Stalin had been.
I had assumed Austria would be very Anti Prussian not wanting them to get too strong and Russia being allied to Prussia as the biggest reasons for Russia hating Prussia never happened and them wanting to weaken Austria and the Ottoman Empires.
my heartbeat going up dangerous levels as soon as Austria Hungary comes up: ....would stay neutral.... ....likely still a respected power.... Meine Kameraden! We did it. For once we survived our own existence and did not start a devastating war
