I grew up in Maine. We had a cottage on the ocean and we had seafood every week all fresh halibut and crab & lobsters on the weekend. I couldn’t stand the taste of lobster -I would opt for a bologna, American cheese sandwich on wonder white bread -and then I went to college in New York and I realized lobster was chic so I learned to like it I used to order male lobsters 😮only.

For those who are checking the comments to verify what he is saying, yes, that is a very impressive specimen of a lobster of any age, especially one potentially at or over 100 years of age. Good strength and responsiveness, minimal shell damage if any, seemingly unharmed antenna on both sides, no barnacles, and all legs accounted for. This lobster is essentially THE silver fox of lobsters, and lobsters in the sea that are that old AND healthy are extremely rare to find.
