I was stunned how quickly this aeroplane went together. Slot the wings onto the carbon wing tube and use the provided thumb screws. The carbon rod for the tail slots into the fuselage and then the V tail halves slot into place and held in with screws. Attach the propellors to the motors and you are ready to install your receiver.
On 4S4000 with Caddx Walksnail FPV the CG is achieved. Launching was super easy. Barely a throw gets this Altus in the air on full power. Cruising around on less than half throttle this aeroplane is stable but does waggle a little in yaw axis on a windy day. I suspect a gyro on a flight controller might help. The Altus slows up nicely for belly landing. On a subsequent flight I tested the stall and it is non-existant. It does not drop a wing. Simply sinks !

Predesigned FPV planes are sure an easy way to get around all that model aircraft building and straight into capturing video and this one looks super easy.

Hi Dom, looks like nice plane. Switched over to Radiomaster last year, don't regret it for a second. Have heaps of receivers that I can use now 🙃

Wow! I have seen a few people crash this right out of the box. You make it look easy. Do you think its all about the setup? Or maybe other people are blaming the plane for their mistakes. 🤔

CG as stated in the manual is important obviously. Didn't require much power in the hand launch which was good. All control surfaces were neutral and it flew straight and level on launch. Only launch after both motors have spun up to full power. Don't understand why others would have problems. This is far easier to launch, fly and land than a lot of FPV wings I have reviewed. Slight negative is that it did 'waggle' in yaw a bit in flight BUT it was a bit breezy so forgivable. I think it's quite good value considering how easy it is to assemble.

You mean they don't allow it? Maybe you need to demo it to a committee member? If done safely and within VLOS there's no reason to stop it. All too often it's down to lack of knowledge and understanding of something new so these things just get banned. Make a case for it and push it through.

I never believed all the stories of old folk at clubs and hating new things turns out it’s very true such a shame , even watched a guy get the boot from the club for fpv then two weeks later a committee member flies fpv without spotter , seems it’s rules for me but not for thee …. Nice plane though dom watched my mate fly one the other day went really well

That's tragic but I've seen it happen. It's a very sensitive area as a lot of rules around it. Fortunately folks are my local club are getting more used to it and I've been asked to clue up other members on the pitfalls if they want to do it. Good luck with it.
