Very abnormal for a person like that to walk into an anbondoned place alone (without documenting it) at 1am just to "look around", carrying a grocery bag. I'd bet his name isn't Brant either.

I'm surprised that a mall would be abandoned for so long and that the owners wouldn't question why there was a high power bill for an abandoned mall where everything was supposed to be turned off.
it would be so cool, if there would be a mall that would be abandoned and it had a nike store, champs, etc. and it had most of the things in there - up for grabs! :D

15:30 Either there are other retail outlet's still open around this abandoned mall at 1am, or he's homeless. He had like two bags in his hands. He didn't have the appearance of someone you'd picture as homeless, but he might have been. Kind of strange to carry bags into an abandoned mall like that. Poor guy seems nice enough. Just down on his luck. Kind of sad to see people like that. Maybe he has a drug problem. Maybe not. It's always intriguing to dive into what other peoples life may be like.

Great video! I've only encountered one abandoned building I've explored where the power was on in one small part of it, which was a former hospital in Gary, IN. Police station occupies the other half of it that's separated from the abandoned portion(though not so much the power inside the abandoned part), and that's why it isn't totally off. Surprisingly enough years ago when I explored it, an urbex friend secured permission from Gary Police for myself and a bunch of others to all get in there that day!
Believe you still could get in there if you want to, but I have no idea how that place is today.

I don't see an issue with the homeless sleeping in these abandoned places at least the place isn't torn down for nothing I think the reason why the lights aren't turn off is the fact that owner cares about the homeless people and want to let them stay their or he's just want people out with lights being out

That was really good, reminds me of something I would have done in my younger days. The sound design (intentional or not) reminded me of One Hour Photo and some of the eeriest parts came when you heard nothing at all.

Funny thing is, this mall was supposed to be demolished not long after this video was released. To this day ( at least when I wrote this comment ) it's still standing. And I hope for a long time as well.

would be to turn it into a thriving housing development, I mean, all of
the infrastructure is already there. Convert one of the larger spaces
into a grocery store, maybe even a bank outlet, a pharmacy/dry
cleaners/salon, all under one roof.

I use to work at a shop in a mall. I worked afternoons, so I would be there until an hour after the mall closed because we would have to stay late to get inventory and stuff done. It would get really creepy at night. Walking through the mall after closing time always gave me the feeling that something bad was going to happen and no one would be around to help me. I knew nothing was going to happen, it was just a feeling I got. I ended up parking closer to the area where I was working so I wouldn't have to walk all the way to the other end of the mall to get to my car. We weren't supposed to do that, but we could get away with it as long as it didn't cause any problems for shoppers. This video brings back a lot of memories for me.
I think the reason they don't turn off the power is so no one steals the copper wiring from the building and destroy it completely beyond repair.

As i watch this i was scrolling through the tv and abandoned is on viceland and they are doing a "ghost mall" episode looking for ghosts in one of the malls im pretty sure Dan did(Rolling Acres).
One of the guys pissed in one of the plant displays and remembering how much of a thing Dan has for mall plants i thought "what a fuckin dickbag pissing on the plants".

It was pretty smart of the mall owners to keep power to the building. That way, vandals and metal scrappers know not to play around in the mall.

No one seen that sword on the floor in the room b4 the room with the small knife on the cabinet he should of picked up for protection the place was booby trapped by old buddy he's an opportunist killer and there was also a shooting target in the 1st theater they went in on the left wall... that's where I felt like they would of gotten got if they didn't have their cameras on... its sound proof in there he was crunk till he seen the cameras notice first thing the guy said was about the cameras he was ready to attack!!
