Born on 1947, so of my first memories are the radio. We got a TV, but when I was 8yrs old I got a broken Crosley radio. Got rid of the broken plastic cover went to supermarket got new tubes and would listen to radio. Now I can hear all these old shows again. The sounded a of science!
Wilmer, what a story you tell.❤ 1952 here. I listened to the old-time radio at night under the covers in winter when dad bought us kids little transistors. The signal came and went. I just waited and loved it.❤
Nicely put - but I think by accident. Just as then it was fiction; the idea that things are so bad now is also a fiction. Things are pretty good despite not being perfect. 👍
Science fiction and drama aged the best of the old time radio. Many are remarkably sophisticated. I recommend X Minus One and its predecessor Dimension X. I also recommend the Whistler and Suspense which are more Twilight Zone for radio. This collection includes Alien Worlds which is from the seventies and not of the classic era. I can't say its a favorite of mine. Old time radio is addictive!

Back when the science fiction future wasn't the horror fiction present. Thanks.

I hesitated to listen to science fiction first. But, didn‘t regret it afterwards.

It's my first choice.
Now I wanna visit Dimension X!
On the tv is the great Basil Rathbone in Sherlock Holmes and the secret weapon. Wow good idea have a guy strung out on meth talk to the aliens.
I feel like I am in the future while listening to this at night...
Is that host the same computer guy from Starlost?
Wonder if I can download these episodes and listen to the stories as I make a road trip?
If you never found out, try Tunein Radio.
The almond joy commercials, good lord. How obnoxious. 🙄
Sometimes you feel like nuts sometimes you dont? What the hell was that....?
"Almond Joy"and "Mounds" are candy bars. Almond Joy's got nuts, Mounds don't,because... "Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't !" 😂
