Yeah it was a weird time at Hey Hey then, when they were scheduling all kinds of local bands, presumably to support the local music industry. It was amazing, and I loved recording a lot of them for my collection.

frenzal rhomb didn't need "a leg up" from hey hey - totally different audience, they were absolutely killing it in the "underground"/"alternative"/"punk" scene at the time. this looked like a laugh to them.
