at the moment as an independent developer choosing what to do I am torn between to start building health-apps with FHIR or OpenEHR. OpenEHR seems to be the ideal candidate for clinical data, as FHIR is for national -or hospital apps dat use EHR's like Epic. What is the way forward on the short run in order to find real job opportunities in this specific health app space?

The short is answer is that you probably need to learn both frameworks. The learning curve for HL7-FHIR is possibly a little less steep than for OpenEHR, but they share many common principles. There are also lots of resources explaining the differences and similarities between FHIR and OpenEHR. I believe @medblocks has posted a couple on this very topic, seeded with links to more detailed blogs and more formal research papers.
