Really nice design. I use 8 frame. Building a 10 frame vac. I will build an adapter 10 to 8 frame. Reason is the other Beekeepers that I help all have 10 frame.
You're welcome. But I rarely use that one anymore, I have built a bucket based vacuum with a smaller battery operated vac that is great for smaller cutouts, particularly water meters and the like. Check out that video before committing.
Funny you should say that. I just got 20 one inch donut magnets complete with screws. That would be a great use for some of them. I will do that tomorrow before I forget. Thanks
Either way works, I find it less of a problem to have the hanging pieces on the part that gets set to one side. I tried it both ways and prefer to have the hooks on the main body.
why not use the 10 frame. im a 10 framer over here. I see that ur beekeepers stopped using the 10 frame but is a particular reason they had stopped using them? im a new beekeeper 3 years now. Ill be a newbee for awhile.

when adding the torsion clips, drill part way into the hive body & insert a magnetic to hold the clip out the way😂

Put the clasps on upside-down so the hook part is on the top box

If I may ask, where did you get the green seal? Looks nice and level across the whole top
It’s a piece of a sheet of closed cell foam. You could use a piece cut from a yoga mat or anything similar.

My reasons for not using the 10 frame is old knees and a bad back. I’m going to give the 10 frame vacuum to a 10 frame beekeeper.
