If i had a way to make money,i would buy some of those guitars. Love your channel and i appreciate your work and playing. You are well spoken and i would be so happy if i ever got the chance to jam and tear it up with you.
Thanks for introducing me to Rock & Roll Relics Zach. That guitar through your new Friedman sounded great. If you get your hands on a 4x12 cabinet please consider doing a video showing the difference between the sound of the Friedman coming through a 4x12 cab and a 2x12 cab. Just a suggestion. Keep rockin my friend.
Will do! I've got 2 4x12's at my practice space, so I could potentially grab one of those. They have different speakers than the Suhr cab though so there are a lot of variables there. Cool nonetheless though! Thanks for watching.
So yeah I’m gas’g BIG time for one of these I seen below you sold it to fund another one with a TOM bridge... was the wrap around just a no go?? The one I’m looking at has the same wrap around and I wish it had a tone pros or TOM. Thanks for the feedback man love the chugs!!!
Yeah! I still haven't grabbed another Rock N Roll Relics yet, but it's still on the list! I think the TOM bridge adds a little bit of low end vs wrap arounds, but I haven't A/B'd two of the same guitar to do a more scientific shootout. The RNRR in this video was one of the best playing guitars I've ever had, it just seemed like it was a bit more geared towards vintagey rock tones vs the big heft and chunk of a more modern guitar. Of course, you could still get those tones out of it depending on what kind of amp you plugged into, but I think I'm just really used to heavy guitars that naturally have a lot of low end. I think the weight of a guitar is also a factor there. Not sure how helpful that all is, but best of luck!
Dig it! Been really weighing out getting that be100 deluxe- would be first head and cab style amp so not to familiar with cab selection, would be cool to see a demo that talks about 2x12 vs 4x12 with that amp
I'll see what I can do. I used to play combos back in the day but eventually two things started to bug me about them. 1) They're typically real heavy once you start getting into 2x12 combos. 2) The tubes would rattle a lot in some amps that I had. Generally this wasn't a problem for playing live, but when recording, you could often hear the tube rattle coming through the recording. Although cabs are heavy in their own respect, I feel like my setup is a bit more flexible now. I have 2 4x12 cabs at a practice space and then this Suhr 2x12 at home. Works out well. Thanks for watching!
Zach Wish I have similar issues with the combo set up as well- another factor for me is that I’m getting away from relying mostly on pedals for break up, don’t get me wrong the combos I’ve got all breakup great in their own right (Carr Lincon and mercury V) but nothing like a amp like the Friedman with a preamp designed to really push
@@tonyz4292 Nice! I've played a few Carr amps and they're great! Distortion pedals are getting scary good these days! My next video that I'm editing now is actually a Friedman BE-OD vs the real thing + a few other amp setups. Very impressive! As for the 2x12 vs 4x12 thing, I'd be totally fine with a 2x12, they sound nice and full, but I like having my amp up a little higher when I'm playing live so I don't have to bend down if I'm adjusting knobs. They definitely sound a little bit fuller in my opinion. To quote Yngwie "more is more." And honestly, I just think they look cool.
Thanks a bunch! You're mainly hearing the SM57 in the room that's on the Suhr 2x12 with Creamback H75s. I blended in a little bit of signal from an IR within the Neural DSP Archetype Nolly.
Zach Wish Many thanks for reply Zach ! How was the amp set up in this video ? especialy chan. volume and system . I just got be-50 deluxe and it’s great, but it does not have that tightness at low volume. it does sounds great cranked though.
@@obestertomas This was not crazy loud in the room, but definitely louder than bedroom volume. I have the BE and HBE channel volumes at around 1:00 or 2:00 and the Master Volume (system volume) around 9:00. I still have yet to play a BE-50 but all other Friedman amps I've played do have that really tight low end which I love.
@@obestertomas Gains on all 3 channels were maxed out. I still have yet to try the BE50, so I'm not sure about the level of gain between the two. When I checked out your videos, I thought they sounded pretty similar.
i got an acdc song i cant remember the name from bib, blackwater park, barbarian, jailbreak and lay it down (got the reference), what else im missing? killer riffs, playing and song selection this guitar is only missing the knobs and pickup switch being in the same location as in an sg and having the pickguard removed, other than that, pretty cool
AC/DC - Let Me Put My Love Into You Opeth - Blackwater Park Beavis & Butthead Theme Song The Darkness - Barbarian Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak The Toadies - Possum Kingdom Ratt - Lay It Down Alice In Chains - We Die Young Naked Pictures - Gasoline (my band, record coming out in a few weeks!) Black Breath - I Am Beyond Iron Maiden - Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter Thanks for checking out the video!
Thanks a bunch! The Friedman is a pretty forgiving amp and it's voiced really nicely already. I have the Gain on max on both the Plexi channel and the BE channel and then the EQ is right around 12:00 with the bass pushed up a bit higher. That's generally where I'm at with Friedman amps. Thanks for checking out the video.
It has a slightly mellower headstock break angle, so in theory it's better, but I actually don't really have too many issues with tuning on Gibsons. I always use Big Bend's Nut Sauce with every string change. That sounds like a commercial, but the stuff works, been using it for years.
I love your 'skate-boarding' point of reference when relating it to 'reliced' guitars! I still feel the same about 'reliced' guitars however I will purchase one IF its tone and feel is something special.
Hah! Yeah it really depends on the relic job. Some look completely obnoxious but I think Rock N Roll Relics do really nice work. Thanks for checking out the video!
Agreed, I wasn't a fan either until I played a Fender roadworn. It just felt and sounded awesome! I couldn't resist it and it's probably my most played guitar now.
So weird that it has no bridge at all, thus no way to intonate the guitar. My guess is that you probably couldn’t change string gauges or tunings drastically without serious intonation issues. Bummer, because the guitar looks really cool.
I did! But I sold it to fund another Rock N Roll relics build. I'm going to go with a singlecut and tune-o-matic bridge. They're seriously killer guitars though. Thanks for checking out the video.
I grew up skating and never heard of people marking up their board's to make them look like they could skate haha. I guess we never reached that level of posers in the U.K.
Killer video! That tone is unreal. Keep the videos coming man!
Thanks bud!
That Tone Is Killer!!
I like this channel because the riffs Zach plays are the same riffs I'd be playing. He just plays them better...
Awesome tone and guitar. I love the attributes of a lp custom crossed with a junior
Came for a great axe, got cool Opeth tune, Beavis and Butthead theme and Rebecca Dirks's photo as a bonus. Cool AF!
This guy gets it.
That guitar sounds amazing.
Pulling out the Thin Lizzy, nice dude
Damn let me put my love into you... Gotta love that track. Also great playing and tone!
Thanks a bunch!
I don't know how you could improve your tone, sounds like perfection to me. Subbed!
Dude! The BE sounds great as usual and that guitar is badass! Right up my alley being a LP Custom player
Right on! The LP Custom is the guitar that I compare everything else to. Good taste my friend.

Loved the scratch skate history lol! So true.

Anyone know if the neck pickup sounds much different with the placement closer to the bridge on these? Just curious

That amp/guitar combo sounds just f^%$#$ FLAT OUT WICKED!
Thanks!
hi Zach, you should do a video on how your record your clips. if you have one, then ignore this request. Cheers
I’ve known Billy since the early 80s. I was never a big fan of it is band, Jet Boy, however Billy is a super nice guy with a great guitar collection.
Do you still have this black Thunders Custom? Love the tone man.
Sounds great. What pickups are in this one?
Thanks! Not sure the model name, but these are the stock Mojotone Humbuckers that come in lots of Rock N Roll Relics guitars.
Best riff master on here...bevis

Just a question: The riffola extravaganza before Jailbreak , who is it by ? 'Cause it is devastating!
That's "Barbarian" by The Darkness. ruclips.net/video/GR35pRz7JQ8/видео.html Thanks for watching!
Blackwater Park!!
This guy knows.
I always wanted a t-shirt with a pedal on it
Alright I give up, what's the riff at 8:17? Where you say it's the wrong way to play it? Tone is amazing!
