I haven't tried the Cloudmonster 2, but I much prefer the original Cloudmonster to the Ecipse. I found the Eclipse sludgy and I got really sore knees. I found them super energy sapping. The Cloudmonster rolls along much easier and I don't find them significantly firmer than the Eclipse. I found the length of both shoes similar in my US 12. I had a thumb width at the end and found both roomy, but managed a slightly better lockdown on the Eclipse. I feel like my big toe may have rubbed on the side where the toebox tapers if I went a half size down. I feel the Cloudmonster could have used a little padding on the tongue. I also got a bit of ankle rub on both. I found the Cloudsurfer the most fun to run in and had the best upper of all 3, but was the least stable, bottomed out after 10km and started squeaking after 60km. The Cloudmonster is the only one that remains with me and to be honest, I'm mainly using them as a walking shoe. And I think running on tank tracks is maybe the best way to describe the feeling, especially after running in more traditional shoes. I'd almost argue they feel a little more like soft hiking shoes than running shoes, but they do feel unique and that's just nice sometimes.
I think that On's pricing is a real drawback. At $180 for either of these, there are top notch plated trainers with premium foams that I would much rather use for the same purposes. For those who don't want a plate, $180 is also getting really close to Superblast territory and Topo's Specter 2 is coming out in a few months with a full PEBAX midsole.
The On Cloud monster 2 is the first On show I have run in and coming from Hoka love it much more because I have some weight to lose and I don’t feel the road - Love them Will Try the other shoe next Thank you
I bought me and my wife the cloud monster I ran the Detroit International Half in them last year I love them. I’m buying us the monster 2 and the eclipse.
I thought Cloudeclipse was too wide and I didn’t like the way that plate felt in the midfoot area. Maybe if I went half size smaller they would feel differently . Still not convicted about one.
Ime with on shoes it's really not that bad. I never had anything stuck in the sides. If anything, it was on the bottom inbetween these pods. But that was years ago on an older model. I probably collect the same amount of stones in the sole of my Asics Superblast
This video felt like a therapy session.

Oh look, not a hostage video like the Brooks one 😂
Thank you! This video really helped me decide which shoe to purchase

We didn't ask

Good morning. I don´t like the big max cushion but the Like to Meaghan and Thomas. Have a nice day .
It's all about the trinkets....ha. Good luck w/ the final 10K!
We need a review on carbon fiber plated beaded seat covers that are firm but not too firm
Maybe someone can make tiny beaded insoles for Thomaswithbelieveintherun.
saucony speed 4 vs Adidas boston 12 ....
Cloud monster v1 fits me half a size small for some reason.
Which out of both shoes is best for over pronation?
Ghost Max vs Eclipse?
Off topic but wondering if the racing TYR shoe will be getting a video from the main 3 or just the written review? Thanks!
For now just written because those are the only reviewers who got it, but we'll see if we can get it in for a video review
Cloud eclipse vs say adidas switch fwd ?
Would you run a half marathon on Eclipse?
Could you do SuperBlast vs. NB SC elite V4?
Alphafly 1.0 vs Alphafly 3.0
The real question is monster vs monster 2?
Is the cloud monster 2 the new ON shoe y’all were hyping up not too long ago? 😂 (this was Like post eclipse release).
Squeak vs non-squeak
The cloud eclipse wore down easily
I have the same issue with mine too. The outsole on worn down QUICK. Aside from that, it’s a great lightweight, easy run shoes.
First! Looking forward to it!
Second
Those holes in the sole is a MAJOR mistake. Pure marketing foolishness. The holes collect stones, sand, water and what not.
I hear they collect semen as well.
Wait till this guy learns that those things can get inside a shoe’s upper too because they also have “holes” 🤯
What????

Yes that's why you wash them plus they're not being used for trail
