One of the Greatest characters ever, should have been in the show longer.
She was offered to stay longer but she was offered another role in the theater.
That speech that Nola/Carole Skinner gives was one of the best moments of Prisoner, I think. I remember watching it all those years ago and just being mesmerised. Like bloody Shakespeare! Loved Nola. Hated her. But loved her! 😁
A Fantastic Actress who playrd a Fantastic Villian,she was the first Choice for Bea Smith but turned it down because her agent thought Prisoner Cell Block H wouldnt Last,Carole Regretted it,but jumped at the chance to pay Nola years later.

Nola's character was supposed to stay in Prisoner for much much longer than the actual time that she exited Prisoner. Apparently Bea Smith was supposed to committ suicide and that would have been the last for her and Nola would have taken her spot for some time till i believe the character of Sonia was supposed to come along. I got this info from a writer for Prisoner but Carol Skinner had issues of her own. Just imagine Nola till the 600th episode would have been amazing!!! SHE WAS THE ONLY CHARACTER WHO COULD TOPPLE SMITH AND HER STORY WAS VERY INTERESTING BUT ALL PRISONER CHARACTERS ARE ENTERTAINING. NOLA REMINDS ME OF LINDA BLAIR AS THE PAZUZU DEMON.
What were Carol Skinner's issues?
Ofcourse the screws were nowhere to be seen when nola kills paddy but as soon as bea tries to kill nola they suddenly appear 😂

I can't imagine that would have ever happened. Judy had a bad heart and Nola would have found that out if Judy had been in prison. Nola was far more menacing than Judy could ever be. No one was scared of Judy.
