I have one. It's incredible and I won't be without it. I've cooked, heated my coffee water, heated my 29' 1988 fireball fifth wheel. Chafing fuel is relatively inexpensive and this thing puts out HEAT. Don't cook on the grill with raw meat- cook it in a pan. I recommend them, no chimney needed.
We use ours in our camper during power outages here in upper North Dakota. Was about -30 when we got it started, took about 2 hours and we were down to a light jacket and verry happy.
Incredible product! So thankful that we have it. Saved us last night when the power went out. We were warm and had hot food!!! It’s still out today and we’re still cozy!
I have this. I am in New York. And I use it to warm up the little pantry/storage room right off of my kitchen that does not have heating. This room gets super cold in the winter time and this heater makes that room bearable. When I first found out about it, I was a little skeptical, but I use chafing dishes, and the heat that comes off of them is pretty hot. So with the fan blowing that heat, it makes sense so I purchased it and as of now, I have no complaints. One thing I will say is stock up on the fuel, because you don’t know, like I’m in New York, when you get a snowstorm and will not be able to get the fuel due to shipping issues.
Siobon2 Very good advice to stock up on the heating canisters. I bought extra ones when I purchased my Vesta. This week I found the Safe Heat fuel canisters at Sam’s Club at a much less expensive price. I got 6 flats of 12 cans each just to have on hand for emergencies. Safe heat is safe to use indoors and is shelf stable for years. Therefore there is no waste, if I don’t use all the canisters this winter I will use them in the winters to come.
Nice video... I've been using my Vesta for about a year now..the best thing is that it's multifunctional in use. Quick tip...use a multi tool or needle nose pliers and carefully extend the wick out another quarter inch... you'll easily get another 10-15 degrees of heat..at the expense of about 30 minutes less run time.
Thanks, George, for the review of the Vesta Heater. They have been reviewed on YT but feel a lot better that someone I trust is giving the thumbs up for use indoors and positive overall review. Thanks again.😊😊😊
I have always been concerned about heating at least one room in my small apartment during an emergency. This fits the bill. I purchased it immediately. Thanks for the video!
The Vesta is awesome. I like sleeping in my sunroom year round (Ohio). I have this on a bar height metal table pointed toward my bed about 3-4 feet away. The room has electric heat which is dry and static - y. This heater makes sleeping way more comfortable. If something happened to my Vesta I would purchase another one. I love it. I have a container with scented oil behind it, and it makes the room smell like maple syrup on waffles. I used mine all last winter, and I have been enjoying it again now that winter weather is here again. I purchased those Gas One cans just for the opener. It's a necessity for my weak hands. It works great on the sterno cans from Sam's.
Hi Patricia. I think I recognize you from Henry's (SnC) channel. I always enjoy and look for your comments over there. Thanks for your experience with this heater; I am considering getting one now.
I bought one for myself and my sister. I later bought the Instafire Ember Oven made by the same inventor. It uses the safe heat and is an oven. I like to have many different options to heat and cook. I have at least 6 cases of the safe heat from Sam’s Club and will be purchasing some more. Be safe everyone!
That’s an amazing coincidence. I also just purchased 6 cases of the six-hour Safe Heat from my local Sam’s Club. There are 12 cans of Safe Heat in each case. I’m thinking that if I use 2 cans at a time in my Vesta heater and run it 24/7 during an emergency, that the 72 cans would provide continuous heat for approximately 9 days. Like you cocacolafiesta, I would really like to have more Safe Heat. Apparently Safe Heat is shelf stable for years if the caps are securely screwed on. So even if I don’t use all my Safe Heat this year it will be there waiting for me next year.
@@Jeffreymart no,but you can try it and it will work. It ain't rocket science. I recommend a can for a bigger flame,w which you will need more perlite and alcohol for,but get a hotter flame from.

Been watching your channel for YEARS. Love the content and this thing is so cool!!! So many uses but I'm thinking this could really work well in my greenhouse in the spring for my vegetable starts! Very cool! Thanks for the video!

I like the Vesta but I love the Ember. You should try it out. It's marketed as an oven but I've cooked eggs on the top in a light weight skillet and boiled water over the vent while baking biscuits in the oven. I used an Esbit folding stove to hold the pot up off the vent for air flow. The cheaper cans of fuel smoke so I am using cat food cans to snuff the cans out and contain the smoke until they cool down.
Also, I think, a strong flame will produce a more vigorous heat distribution so I am going to try my homemade crisco candle with a very thick wick inside to "see something ". 🤭
I’ve used Sterno for cooking a lot, but I started to use the same style you are using with the cap. The Sterno would dry out because of the style of caps they use. Greenscape has bio fuel you can use to refill the cans, I’ve used it for refilling their burners. ✌️
You can use small cans of vegetable oil with a small socket piece and a small piece of rolled up paper towel as a wick. A 4 litre bottle will last ages and way cheaper..its also safer to use as it won't ignite without the wick setup..even if the socket falls over
Alcohol's main by-products from combustion is CO² and H²O. That's what makes it safe indoors. High levels of CO² can be dangerous but generally those situations are rare. I'd use it in car. Crack a front window and rotate the sun visor to cover the window gap. Cold air will drop to the floor and create a circulation circuit as warm air at the roof escapes through the window.
I agree. Should be pretty easy to fabricate something similar to this for less than $50. I'd like to experiment using a bread pan to hold some homemade sterno-like substitutes, a metal grill top and a $20 heat fan. I don't need it for cooking. Maybe even incorporate some small firebrick in the design to radiate heat longer.

I suggest a simple camp stove that runs on propane for cooking. You'll know what I mean when you try to cook on that inept Vista stove. Takes 1/2: hour to boil water and never gets anywhere near hot enough for most cooking. I think it's only good for ever so very slowly warming up canned foods like soup and spaghetti O's.

One year later review. I bought two of the Vesta heaters, one for me, and one for friends. Today, a year later, I was trying to heat my room and the 3 fuel heaters just were not doing the job. so I took two, (not three) of my little alcohol heaters and put them in the Vesta. Worked great for about five minutes. The the fan stopped, the paint started coming off the back end of the unit and the metal slats on the bottom of the upper unit all warped. Oops! Apparently, you cannot use the little alcohol mini burners. Better stick to the chafing dish heaters. I don't know if I will get another one or not.
Thank you for info on using an alcohol burner, which Rose Red Homestead suggested to get more heat. The instructions recommended using only Instafire canned heat, guess your experience is why!!!
When I shot the video yesterday it was on for about an hour, then today ran it for 2 hours during my videos for the weekend, the cannisters still feel pretty full so it will probably be a pretty good long time, I am guessing 6 or so hours total
On the chaffing fuel canisters it will be printed either 2 hours or 6 hours. I have not seen any canisters that burn longer than 6 hours. Whether you burn 1 canister or 3 canisters of the six hour fuel at the same time the Vesta will be out of fuel after six hours. I use 2 canisters (to save money) in my Vesta. I have to replace both canisters every 6 hours so that equals 8 fuel canisters every 24 hours.
Be sure to buy the 6 hour Safe Heat canisters. If you get the 2 hour canisters you will be changing the canisters every 2 hours which is a pain during an emergency.
Heat, simple explanation is there are two plates inside the fan, the heat heats up one plate, the other is colder and the difference generates electricity

How do I access your store to order the vista..? Ty
The link is right in the description below the video
😅You sound like Mike Rowe. Thanks for the demo.
Just weld it together and put a chimney on it 😀😀😀
So how long will this thing heat for when using 3 fuel canisters at once ?
When I shot the video yesterday it was on for about an hour, then today ran it for 2 hours during my videos for the weekend, the cannisters still feel pretty full so it will probably be a pretty good long time, I am guessing 6 or so hours total
On the chaffing fuel canisters it will be printed either 2 hours or 6 hours. I have not seen any canisters that burn longer than 6 hours. Whether you burn 1 canister or 3 canisters of the six hour fuel at the same time the Vesta will be out of fuel after six hours. I use 2 canisters (to save money) in my Vesta. I have to replace both canisters every 6 hours so that equals 8 fuel canisters every 24 hours.
is it methyl or ethyl chaffing fuels?
Love it!
How long do these canisters last?
Personally I think $130 is a bit high for such a unit.
I could see $60, 'maybe' $80 but $130? 🤔
😱😱
Where did you get sterno?
Amazon has it as well as Walmart, matter of fact Walmart has the indoor safe "green" sterno type fuel that will be perfect in this
@@Iridium242
You are correct Sir.
I've also purchased the green Sterno from WallyWorld myself. 👍
Be sure to buy the 6 hour Safe Heat canisters. If you get the 2 hour canisters you will be changing the canisters every 2 hours which is a pain during an emergency.
@@lyndarina9839 hi is six hours the maximum or there are longer hours?
@@SnickerbarConsciousness 6 hours burn time is the most hours I have seen so far.
Very cool !
While Sterno stoves and grills are nothing new. This one looks well made. But, What makes the fan operate? If it is self powered!
Heat, simple explanation is there are two plates inside the fan, the heat heats up one plate, the other is colder and the difference generates electricity
I think I will use Heet and Perlite.
An interesting Idea ...
Yes. @@sanborns
150.00 bucks, not worth it. Thanks for the demo tho.
@@firefly2751 it is if you live in a van and it's cold.. how easy is the fuel to find .been to nine stores and two online n can't find a single can of butane for my stove..miss my hot water bottle..
technically its not selfpowered if it needs fuel
it is powered by canned heat not by itself
If you have to put cans of fuel in it it is not self-powered it is cans of fuel powered
