    • @zackhurwitz9441

      The funniest part about the debate is, that they're two completely different archetypes of edge rushers. One's a prototype DE, the other a 3-4 OLB. They're also completely different in terms of how their teams use them. One spot drops in coverage, the other can rush inside.
      If you had to make an argument, Pittsburgh basically never wins if Watt doesn't play, and hes had more game sealing plays. On the other hand; Garrett deals with more double teams than Watt, and has less help.
      Having said all of that, I legitimately don't know who I'd pick. I'm a 9ers fan, and playing against either of them makes me nervous for SF.

    • @TBGames23BM

      @ I would say watt bc he forces a lot of fumbles and sacks and can also pick the qb off too, Garrett usually rushes and doesn’t get as many sacks or fumbles.

      The Browns are 4-11 without Myles on the field. Everything else you said about TJ could be directly applied to Myles too. They are both elite edge rushers and thus need to be planned for by the other team. In fact, given that TJ was only double teamed on 14% of his rushes compared to 29% for Myles in 2023, it would be quite easy to say that offense changed their game plan more for Myles than for TJ

      Not taking anything away from TJ, the Steelers are one of the best organizations in football, like they set the standard for success in the league, so it’s no surprise someone like TJ would thrive in that environment. That being said, Myles is a great player, but he plays for the same organization that traded the same QB they drafted and took them to the playoffs for the first time in decades. I'll take TJ over Myles, and I am a Myles fan. But TJ is a game changer. Always getting crucial sacks in pivotal moments, strip sacks to give his offense the ball back. Always getting tackles for loss. Always giving it his ALL EVERY PLAY. Myles is a monster but I haven't yet to see a remarkable game changing moment on his resume, maybe I missed it. TJ Watt is a force mutiplier on that DLine and he ain't scared of no dominant LT guarding him.

    • @DoctorBiobrain
      @DoctorBiobrain 27 дней назад +2

      As a Steelers fan I actually DON’T think TJ gives his all every play because he always seems to do better when we need him most. Not that he ever slacks off, but I think he’s setting stuff up for later as the game within the game. So maybe he routinely does one move during the game but on a crucial third down in our territory he does an opposite move to catch the blocker by surprise. I haven’t seen anyone show that, but that’s my best guess as to why he usually does his big plays when we need it most.
      The greats are just like that. Guys like Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, and Tom Brady were never easy but they had higher gears they could switch to in crunch times. That’s the difference between guys who are great during the season but do worse in the playoffs because they always play in high gear but can’t elevate their game when it’s needed.

    As a Steelers fan i totally agree. Our defense has and always will be a show stopper. But our offensive line SINCE a year before Ben left has been TRAAAASH. This season I see us MAYBE making it to the AFC championship but with our line I don’t see a Super Bowl for awhile.

      @@amberreed4443 If our line is our biggest problem, I think that means we have a pretty solid football team. Did they give up a bunch of sacks against the Ravens? Sure. Russel was running for his life all day. Pass protection could be better. But also, we could use some help from receivers getting open.
      But the line has been an improvement this year, aside from Broderick Jone's regression. A rookie center who is playing phenomenally coupled with a rookie right guard in McCormick who is playing decent all things considered. Fautanu was playing well before he got hurt. Hopefully he can recover and avoid the injury bug that was a question mark when we drafted him.
      We're ranked 8th in rush yards per game. Najee is on pace for a 1000 yard season again. The team is already well over 1000 yd combined rushing for the season.
      I am optimistic that this line keeps getting better and better. I hope Frazier turns into another franchise center. And I'm also liking what I'm seeing with Darnell essentially being an extra lineman that can catch.

      Even last year the Steelers stayed with the Bills in the wildcard game despite using our third string quarterback who isn’t a starter this year, starters who came off the couch midseason due to injuries, and not having TJ. Heck, just missing TJ was likely the biggest factor. Yet I never lost hope until the end of the game.
      We’re much better this year. I think people just can’t comprehend the Steelers because they win in the wrong way. But we’re not a dominant team. We just have a well coached team full of guys who can make magic happen. We’re not going to blow out bad teams but we’re going to cause problems for good teams. It’s just gritty Steelers football.

    Games are not won or lost by great offenses or defenses, they are won by the team that scores more points than the other team does. And if the defense allows less points than their offense can score, that is just enough to win that game. Therefore the Steelers don't need a great offense that scores them 30 points a game, they just need an above average offense that scores them more points than their great defense allows. Just as we saw against the Ravens.
