Never did a rooftop in 12 years.. I wouldn't use half of the features and I would waste more time assembling / calibrating /etc... Than just using regular gauges and good thermomètre and just do some quick maths... Thx guys , good reviews

I have 1 question. Can you recalibrate the non wireless temperature clamps? The problem I have with my 550s(not the 550S), is you don't have the option to recalibrate the temperature readings. My suction side temperature has been 5 degrees off since it arrived, despite its calibration certification. In order for me to get that remedied, I'd have to send it in to be recalibrated, pay money to do so. Fieldpiece's digital manifolds have a little set screw in order to adjust the temperature read. Unless Testo makes their digital manifold field calibratable for their temperature clamps(wired), I will not buy another Testo digital manifold. I don't care if its software offsets, or if its a mechanical set screw, I need to be able to calibrate it myself, to a known temperature source(ice bucket challenge anyone?). I love the aesthetic of Testo, I really like their combustion analyzers, but until this one flaw(and to me it is a big flaw) is addressed, I do not want.
I'm an observer, and I have an ignorant question. One of you noticed the nice big sight glass on this manifold; does it only matter if you're charging the system and looking for a solid refrigerant column going in? Is there another reason to watch it?
Great reviews guys! The 550s definitely looks cool especially with that micron gauge. Did I understand correctly, the phsycrometers do not integrate with the manifold though? That would be a shame. The 550i honestly looks like a giant pain. A solution in search of a problem that doesn’t exist. Just my opinion of course :-)

I found this video because I am actually thinking about getting the 550i because it adds manifold capability to smart porbes. I do mostly refrigeration service work so a lot of the work can be done with smart probes exclusively and a charging tee, however I want a digital manifold for installation and repairs because (the charging tee works great for charge corrections but not so much for installs) but I don't feel a need to spend $600 just to add manifold capability to my smart probes which this does for $250 and I'm already using and used to the app. This is just my thoughts as a service tech and if I was on an install crew I probably wouldn't want this.

A few thoughts : 1- I agree that the ‘no user manual’ experience test is very important. But the review would also be more complete (and possibly fair) if you later read the manual to answer these questions, just for the sake of the video. It might also help avoid manufacturers deciding against sending product to the channel in the future , if they believe the outcome could be randomly unfair.. 2- it would be better to have had a single “4 guys” video instead of two videos. actually, why exactly are there two videos ? ? 3- the sprawl of content fragmentation destroys YT value creation. You guys should consider combining your individual professional channels and content , and this tool stuff, into a single channel like HVACOVERTIME and then only have a separate HVACOVERTIMELIVE channel for streams to insulate the main channel from profanity etc. (like bigClive does ). Positioning it this way would put you amongst very top of related channels. YT Channel mergers are bound to become a big thing in the future, methinks, if the history of media and business is any guide.. anyway, nice work!👍
I got the 557S it appears I’ll still be keeping and using my fieldpiece manifold and fieldpiece probes But the new Testo app works easier like it should have when they first released it with the old version big mistake TESTO lost a lot of customers because of their software

I believe FieldPiece is made in Taiwan and Testo I don't know...
The case is strong but like Adam mentioned the plastic closing clips won't last as long.
