before trying the spikes, just get some fishing line tie it to various spots around the cupola and see if it doesnt keep them away, ezpz. At one of the Jersey Shore outdoor restaurant they have the fishing line strung above the eating area to keep the seagulls away, works great.

Brilliant! I didn’t want another season of bird poop all over our outdoor furniture and you solved my problem!!!

Hi @melanieharris2281 . Thanks for the comment. I know what you're talking about. I've cleaned up plenty of poo before I came up with that. But a funny story that happened to us last summer... we were away overseas for over 2 weeks, and a bird had made their nest on top of one of the ceiling fans that you see in the gazebo, lol. I'll actually be posting a video soon, under my Dealing with Garden Critters, showing that. I set up a GoPro to watch the birds as they grew. It'll be a pretty cool video ... keep an eye out for it. But the spikes still worked if we had been around for those 2 weeks, they would have never had a chance to set their nest on top of the ceiling fan. :-) Thanks for watching! Jackie and Dan

I found a box of those tall spikes at Goodwill. So glad I found this video to see how you are using it. I’m so glad I found it at Goodwill. The birds are definitely getting started in my area. Thanks for sharing.

Hi RB the Garden Nanny, LLC: Thanks for the comment. They really are the simplest and cheapest way to keep the birds away. There's nothing like waking up in the morning and finding that a bird pooped all over your patio furniture ;-) . Best of luck with them. Thanks for watching! Jackie & Dan

Hi @nikl250 . Sorry for the delayed response. Glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah, birds like to put nests everywhere. After we did that, they built a nest on one of the ceiling fans in the gazebo. I'll be releasing a video and a short about that soon. So keep an eye out for it. Thanks for watching! Jackie & Dan

Hi Andrea. Thank you so much. Those lil rascals drive me crazy when they make themselves at home all around our property :-) We thought people would really get a kick out of that one. Thanks for watching! Jackie & Dan
