HUGE yes to the quarterly writing craft book club. I would love to add new craft books to my stack and get to discuss them with fellow authors and hear your thoughts on them as someone who has written so many books
The book club sounds so awesome. I have been following for a while and have been collecting craft books and would love to have someone to read a long with.
Hey Sarra. I've gotta say your time off did you well. Your skin is glowing and there's just this pep and energy surrounding you. I'm so glad that you're doing this writer reset as I've been struggling with writing as well.
I love this - how organized you are. I have a few planners/notebooks on the go, with intentions of having 1 for RUclips video plans/ideas, 1 for notes on the books I read, 1 for notes on my writing project, 1 for daily life stuff, etc. I find it hard to remember to look in them all! I feel like I need 1 giant book to put everything in so it's all in 1 place, lol! The cacti notebook is cool. I love the colours in it. All the best with your writing reboot; I think you got this!
I love the craft book club idea! There are so many great books out there, so would be great to have a sort of 'guide' of great books to read (if that makes sense)
Getting to decorate and utilize your creativity is totally a stress reliever and helps you be in that happy flow state. It makes TOTAL sense that you enjoy tracking on the pretty pages!
Yesyesyes to a craft book book club!! Craft books are def one of the things that inspire me, and it would be so awesome to have a book club focused on them!!
Love the craft notebook. I recently started a productivity self study for the year and this involves reading many newer and more classic books on productivity and time management. I am capturing notes in a similar way but using Notion for my key notes and take aways. I know you have recently started using Notion. Capturing notes this way makes it searchable and easier to reference and categorize in the future. I have a video all about my method if interested. Great video as always. These are my favorite videos to catch every month!
One thing I recently learned whilst cleaning/tidying my space was... When I finish a project, I start a new project... I never clean up or tidy the area. I found a box filled with trays of tools that never got put away after the projects were over. A stack of envelopes that never got thrown out after opening the mail. So lately I've been making a deliberate effort to clean up my mess after each project and not let the stuff pile up to do later... Truthfully, it takes longer to do later because you have to review the pile of stuff, where as if you just took care of it upon project completion, there's no review. So next project, clean up your space before you move to the next and see how satisfying it is to start fresh every project! 💖🌞🌵😷
I love the post it note idea. I am in sales and that is such a great way for me to use to focus on solutions to challenges I have. Thanks for doing really helpful vids!!
Just finished HB90 and have regained my passion!! I am organizing my notebooks. Creating my writing space, and have learned to be ok with where I am. Q2 will be May and June for me. I am beyond excited!! Thank you Sarra Canon! ♥️
That productivity planner really caught my eye. I'm very checklist-driven, and the undated pages looks less intimidating. Gonna check that out for my writing. I love seeing all the different kinds of notebooks that you try out. I'm always getting ideas!
Love the writer reset idea. I can see the energy growing for you! and as always, love the notebook challenge video. It feeds my own notebook obsession, but also makes me use them. Spring is the perfect time to renew. Can't wait to see how you move forward with the writing.
Missed these videos. I have been waiting for this video for a whole week. I am no writer but I enjoy the stationary and the notebooks but I also enjoy the help books part, I don’t know why😂 I also respect Sara and I feel how considerate she is as a human being. Wish her all the success in the world.
Oh my gosh I love the notebook giveaway! I gasped out loud haha. Also I think a craft book club would be really awesome and fun. I'm looking forward to the writer reset vlogs!
I completely agree with you. Having stickers that you love and a notebook or planner that makes you happy really does motivate you to keep track of everything going on in your life. May we keep moving forward and reach our goals.
Your channel makes me want to get my butt in order!!! I seem to always come back to your channel as my inspiration! Sending love❤️ all the best in your journey to your best self!
For black paper notebooks, I have completely fallen in love with using Sarasa Decoshines. They're metallic, but they write SOOOO smoothly at least on the black paper journals I've been getting from Lights Planner Action.
Thanks for another brilliant inspirational post. I love what you say about not beating ourselves up over things we don't achieve and also about being able to come back to those notebooks that we haven't used as much as we initially thought we might. Gorgeous nails, too!
I really enjoyed this video and I have to add your rest break has done you so well. I can hear the rested vibe in your voice. That cactus cover is super cute.
So glad to hear you took a month to rest after 5 (at least) very busy months! I hope April is full of writing inspiration. Also, a craft book club sounds interesting to me.
Oh my goodness. I love the cacti notebook. It looks so fun. Green is my favorite color. Thanks for all of the writer reset information. I found it very helpful.
A craftbookclub spunds very good. And the notebook with the greencolors is so spring-like....I want to use it for writing ideas. So fresh... creates fresh ideas.. thanks for this vlog!
What helped me was taking care not to promise too much too early. That you have a good week doesn't mean you are back in the flow, it might be (and often was) just a spurt. And then people were expecting what I promised and I felt so bad it hindered my writing even more. So now I just write and not tell anyone and when I am done, they will be happily surprised and that will hopefully make me feel so good that I can dive right into the next story.
Love the notebook challenge videos! A sticker haul of the new stickers you purchased would be awesome! I’m excited for the vlogs and can’t wait to hear what’s next for you!
April is going great so far! hoping to finish a book I started during NaNo and trying some new changes to my writing day. I hope you have a great April!
I always look forward to your notebook videos! I recently started writing again and am determined to finish my book this month. I have just under 28K words and I'm doing Camp Nano to get to 50K this month. Thanks for your consistency and sharing tools to help us reach our goals. I have your workbook and it has really helped me to organize my thoughts and plan. I just need to follow through and I know building a habit through routine will get me there. I want to do one of your camps/workshops soon!! Happy Easter :)
Love the idea of a craft book club! This quarter I’m prepping to launch my very first indie pub book! Writing book 2 in the series (wolf shifters in the American Cicil War), and learning how to build up a platform for launch. Terrified and excited.
Thank you for the Writer Reset!! I'm so excited for it! I'm a full adult that loves stickers, so I'd be very into a sticker haul video. Another great video, thank you for the amazing content!!
Yay to writer reset and for taking time to relax and rejuvenate 🎉❤ Sarra, I love hearing the joy and excitement in your voice! Please count me in if you do create a book club for the craft of writing 😊🌻🌵❤
Hi Sarra. I enjoy watching your videos, this one especially. It was something I needed. Everything you wrote in the reset planning squares, is exactly the things I wrote down. When my room is in a mess, my mind is too and I can’t focus on my writing because I want to clean up. I also get ideas while exercising and watching Netflix. I wish you luck on your journey and hope you get the rest and reset you need. Take care.
Hi Sarra! First, I love your nails this month! Love the idea of a quarterly writers resource book book club - Count me in! I always love your notebooks and your honesty about when something doesn't work or you get overwhelmed and have to let it go for the moment. Like you, I had to reset and will be following along with that. What a fab resource box. Super cool!
Ideas that held me up for a long time: 1) the idea that I needed to wake up at 5am and write for several hours straight... And 2) Outlining, because people are always talking about discovery writing being inefficient. But I'm not a morning person. I can't write first thing in the morning. My brain is a foggy mess, and caffeine doesn't even help. It might wake me up physically, but I still feel as creative as a tree stump. My best writing times are from 6pm-12am. And outlines are not for me. Not before I write, and not after. My intuition will take care of the structure if I just get out of its way. I write better when I let my intuitive, creative brain have free rein. As soon as I start trying to force whatever I think should be coming next, my creativity shuts down and the writing becomes a slog. It took me many years to admit these things about myself. I kept trying to force myself into other peoples' boxes. It's really freeing to finally be in a place where I am comfortable in my routine.
So excited for the reset and to get going again. I will be on vacation next week and excited to bring my writing to work on my story again. Its been such a struggle lately with depression and anxiety, but I feel I have finally gotten it under control. So happy to see you smiling and the sparkle back in your eyes.
I absolutely love a writing craft bookclub idea. I was using my old Passion Planner as a way to track what I've been learning from my craft studies. :)
❤ yes please! Love your idea for a read-a-long. I sometimes find myself unmotivated to read nonfiction, and I think if we do book club it could open up another level to glean from one another. Great idea!!
I have SO MANY notebooks with a single page used. You are definitely not alone! That's one reason I love these notebook challenge videos. I get ideas on how I can use my "one-pager" notebooks. :)
Hunter Paper Co journals are so nice! I stocked up when a US shop selling them had a fantastic sale and I love the narrow dot grid. Glad to see you loving yours too!
Hi, Sarra, Yes, I would L O V E to do a craft book , book club! I read craft books all the time. It would be amazing to share that journey with other writers.❤
I am doing well using my journals. It's helping me to cope with my mental health. I am enjoying the Passover holiday.I would use the notebook for my health since I am more symptomatic.
This year started great with me on top of it all. Somehow, as can happen, I have shifted a bit into a more introspective period (many reasons for that), but has slowed down and changed the way and frequency I have been using my journals, planners and notebooks. Time for a shift for Q2! Thanks for sharing Sarra, missed seeing you!
18:59 Where can i find this notebook thing? I don't know what to look up to find this, It looks like it could be useful for me. If someone could tell me the name of this product that would be amazing.
Rest and rejuvenation is always a must! I’ve had to embrace the notion that I can’t be my best for other people unless I’m best for just myself. Great video! Thanks!
I'm working on an enviromental reset. I love calling it that because it's easier to get busy than if I call it cleaning or organizing. 😉 I'd enjoy a craft book club. I have a lot of books and need the encouragement to do more reading. Thanks as always for your honesty and encouragement. ♥
Hope your April is going well so far! Grab the writer reset workbook and join me. Also, hope you enjoy a long holiday weekend video haha.
HUGE yes to the quarterly writing craft book club. I would love to add new craft books to my stack and get to discuss them with fellow authors and hear your thoughts on them as someone who has written so many books
