hey Björn, we were the ones with the C40 Volvo from Hungary and met you when you were charging. I just wanted to say hi but you were in a rush. It was so good even for that small amount of time just to shake hands with you. We were so lucky to met you and it was so random i was hardly believe it. Keep up the good work and i hope we meet again.
oh wow cool! I'm close to austria and will go to Andalsnes (so basically to where he just drove) in a couple of months. Not quite as far north as you, but still through some beautiful landscapes :D Doing it in a Renault MeganE E-Tech
God I just love the late light there this time of year, Bjorn. The scenery there is beyond beautiful in Norway! Your trips and hands on information are second to no one else sir!
Strange Bjorn that you have problems. Yes at first using the pre-heating you need to get your head around it. But after a couple of times it becomes easy. Like many other cars. “If you you know you know” Also on pre announcements out now that Hyundai and Kia will look to show charging stations on route. So be Tesla esque albeit not as good. However not everyone wants a Tesla. 🤔I have been using the GT and getting fantastic speeds and omg it goes like a rocket especially mid acceleration. Beautiful video of Norge. 👍👍
Wow, thanks for showing the printout for the fast-charging procedure! There's not only no way one would chance into having a full-speed charging session, I'd say it's unlikely for many regular drivers to commit this to memory for the few times every now and then you might want this for a longer trip.
👍 The car is beautiful - and so thirsty even at low speeds. 😧 I wish for a preheat button near a way point that leads to a list of close-by charging stations.
A preheat button for any arbitrary destination would be ideal, as new charging stations are added all the time that the navigation system may not know about yet. No weird hoops to jump through, just set a destination then press preheat, and the battery will start warming up in time to get you there at the ideal temperature. That's the way that the system _should_ work (in addition to just doing it automatically for known fast charging destinations like Tesla does). Heck, even Tesla should have a preheat button like that for navigating to third-party fast chargers used with the CCS adapter.
@@KevinT3141 With just manual preheating the information of which type of charger with what approximated charging curve and the aimed for state of charge at point of leaving (this is to guess the optimal battery temperature on arrival), length of pause and availability is lost - but yes, better than nothing. Having to use the SEXY buttons on a Tesla as a crutch for manual preheating is something so unnecessary.
@@LearningFast Thanks. Unfortunately that's third party and a software update could disable it tomorrow. Tesla (and Hyundai/Kia, Ford, VW, etc.) should just make it a 'button' in the navigation UI itself.
When you mention Trollstigen, I immediately think: I would be interresting to se som test comparing towing trailer with and without inertia brakes. 750 kg trailer dith and without inertia brakes, compare regen with both.
It's much easier and quicker to use "Live Chargers" for preheating. I have that on my ⭐️-button. Works every time, with one press of a button and without Ninja car scanner EV wizardry. However, unless it's really winter, preheating isn't worth the hassle and loss of range. Even if the battery is cold-ish, EGMP will still charge 10-80% faster than almost all other cars.
KIA might consider gathering ALL essential info from the car to make ONE screen for the user to see, in one glance, if all conditions for fast charging pre-heating are met: Condition 1: check Condition 2: check, etc!
Hi Björn I think you have to "meny" and "navigetioen"..seek the name "Dombås" and go too the map and push "target mark" att inonty and "set destionetion".. this is the way Ido and "pre hesting" is going on every time for me.......
Nice Video, Preaheating in the EV 6 is to complcate. I drive one the GT Line and it is a great car over all. But Software in some features is old-fashioned. I conroll the Icon in the Instrument cluster to check if preatheating is working. Sometimes Yo Yo it is the eaysier way, this should not be the case. I was thinking of trading the GT Line AWD for the GT. But now 9 mounth after, i think i wiil hold it. The GT Line is fast ennough and less thirsty. Perhaps i will rent it for some Holydays to have fun. Is it a big differnece in the aspect of fun?
manual seat ajustment ?? still bad info sys and map ?? for the price ??? looks nice only thing I see thats goodish is charging naaaa Tesla all the way for me but i liked the compass info
The instruction is actually less than 1 page :) the rest are just screenshots. Every car needs to have algorithm like this, to prevent stupid mistakes and unnecessary preheating
@@m00O0 That's a pity. They should signalize it better on screen, to show if this will work or not. It's frustrating to learn it only after you plug your car :/
I think “No one seems to like this car” is a bit of an overstatement. 😬 There are about a gazillion reviews of the car where approximately 80% - or more - are positive, with the range as the only downfall. Beside of that, it was awarded World Performance Car of the year 2023 2 months ago by a jury of 100 distinguished international automotive journalists representing 32 countries. 😊

Sorry for the rush. I was doing 1000 km challenge.

In summer I will go from Austria to Nordkapp in an EV6. So much looking forward to beautiful Norway!

Last summer we visited Trollstigen. It was breathtaking. Nice road trip video, thanks.

Just drove my ev6 GT, to netherland, what a beast at charging just so fast . The was ready befoe i came backm from the toilet stop
Bjorn Nyland's Road Trips should be "Route Nein Nein Nein" harkening back to the old TV series Route 66.
love a good roadtrip!
I'm glad you are staying in Norway. It's a beautiful place like Canada.
Nice to see you return to your roots in this video. Great video shots of your country and as always so beautiful it is. Thanks for posting

Do you think the minimum temperature has to be below 21 when you set the charger as a destination in order to activate the battery heater?
