I really cannot imagine it at all 😂 it’s absolutely insane, I’m relatively young still but just to think most of them were younger than me by the time they broke up after one of the most prolific careers ever…it’s mind blowing
Rubber was the one that got me on to them, ipreferred Stone Who Kinks and Animals, the dangerous bands, but Rubber Soul was a de[arture from the mop top stuff and i really loved it
Lol. The Beatles were the real bad Boys out of all those bands. The others (especially the Stones) just gave the image of being "dangerous bands". The Beatles manager had encouraged them to present themselves as professional, likeable guys in order to become successful. After the Beatles opened the door for those other bands they could put on the image of being more dangerous while still being allowed through the door.
When I compare bands my criterion is the quality of the music and not how "dangerous" they can be. None of the bands you mentioned had arguments to compete with the Beatles' creativity, so they opted for the "bad and ugly" public image as a way to stand out.
for me you articulated pretty well the uncertainty for brian after the band quit touring finding any way to stay relevant himself and keeping the band in the public consciousness. i think brian's loss signalled the inevitable end though paul did his utmost to keep them engaged and moving in a single direction. well done, another fine installment.
Agreed, it is something amazing about how albums like that came together though. Maybe it’s a sort of retrospective ;) bias but knowing how many songs had been worked on for months/years and weren’t necessarily specifically planned for each album, it’s almost hard to believe. Because when I hear the albums front to back it’s like they were all just meant to be there in their place & there is no other natural way
The idea originally was to make it a concept album .. but they seemed to quickly drop the idea . As you say though .. who really cares ?! .. it's just a masterpiece tbh . Owing to the record company who demanded a single , The Beatles could also have had Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields Forever on an already monumental album ... Imagine that !! 👍
@@richybatty234 If I was given a chance to go back in a time machine and change something, would I save the people on the Titanic? Stop the Hindenburg disaster? Kill Hitler? No, I'd probably tell George Martin to put Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields on Sgt Pepper. 🤣
It's a stage (cabaret) show about everyday life and just trying to get by. That's the thrust of "With a Little Help From My Friends," "Good Morning, Good Morning," "Fixing a Hole," "Getting Better" and kind of "A Day in the Life." "Lovely Rita" and "She's Leaving Home" are slice-of-life vignettes. The only outliers are "Lucy" and "Within You." The Sgt. Peppers are the bookends. All of the song characters are humble, working-class people looking for small pleasures like making it with the meter reader or flirting with someone downtown ("Good Morning").
The peak of The Beatles wasn't Sgt. Pepper, but a few months after that album had been made -- with John's masterpeice "All You Need Is Love" (1967). That was the pinnacle of The Beatles artistic & musical influence over popular culture itself, and the 1960s generation. It was also the beginning point of the "peace & love" theme that people now identify with the 1960s decade, and the point where Rock music had become something more than just entertainment ... but now an alternate way of reimagining Life.
Hm. I don’t know if we’re listening to the same album. Walrus, Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane, Fool on the Hill, All you need is love … these are amazingly good. Ever try to write a song?
@@onepointofview I thought it was a great EP . To anyone thinking that maybe the band had gone off the boil a little , you only have to look back at what else was going on in the charts back then . No kidding, I thought the same thing as I watched that footage of Beatles albums being burned on a KKK cross. You'd think things in America would have changed from those days, and for a while it seemed we were getting there, but the recent presidential election proves that we haven't moved an inch. America has been hijacked by the "Christian" Taliban.
I wish the lads had hung it up when they stopped playing live. 1966 or 67. From the late fifties to the end of their touring they were an exciting rock band. After that they tried too hard to be arty, or worse---Pop. They still had a few good rockers, but most of it was sad. Number 9, number 9, number 9... And then you have that dismal mess with Yoko in the studio howling.
You won't get many supporting this view but they were really being kept alive by the studio. Certainly after All You Need is Love, anyway. Paul could have launched his solo career at this point. John, a victim of drug abuse, sadly.
SORRY BUT YOU ARE SORRILY MISTAKEN PUT DOWN THE CRACK PIPE AND LEAVE THE ANALOGIES TO REAL NOT SOME GARAGE BOND HOMEBODY THE HAS BAD INTERPRETATION OF HOW IT REALLY WAS NOT YOUR VERSION,BECAUSE THAT’S WRONG
I think the 'White Album' was Lennon & Harrison's push to get the Beatles back to some credibility (after MMTour & Pepper) but then Lennon lost interest and McCartney + Martin were left to produce the banal, sugary (though superbly executed) Abbey Road (Let It Be being a lacklustre throw-away that foreshadowed much of McCartmoney's solo work)
Should the Beatles had not have the haircut and the publicity that they received, do you think they had sold millions of records? For example, "Good Morning,Good Mirning" do you think it would have been a hit for everyone to sing along like for example, "Happy Together"that everybody knows up to today and that it was released at that time more or less? Pepper is garbage.
Brilliant- I really enjoyed the Pepper interpretation
thanks
Can you imagine all this bizarre life compacted into the lives of guys only in their 20's??

No kidding eh
And it takes us decades to unpack
Paul or george or ringo could literally save someone from a burning building and John would still be like: "that was rubbish"
To be fair, maybe he just meant that the burned down building was rubbish
Yeah, John could be snarky as hell.
Sgt.Pepper is a miracle, nothing less.
Rubber was the one that got me on to them, ipreferred Stone Who Kinks and Animals, the dangerous bands, but Rubber Soul was a de[arture from the mop top stuff and i really loved it

It really doesn’t make sense to compare the Beatles to other bands imo. They were in their own category.

This channel needs to be meticulously studied for the upcoming films. Fantastic work
A great analysis & program! Thanks.

The Queen so young and beautiful in 1965.

Glad you enjoyed it
great footage!
Thanks a lot!
The Beatles Are The Best 👍 💯, Period
Yes a fine video as Ringo wld say
So much great info on the best band of the era .
Realmente!! quién sabe de dónde recopila estos datos, si bien la historia es conocida, hay ciertos detalles...
I’ve always felt the Magical Mystery LP was totally underrated
No, it was deserved, there is nothing there,no pop,no rock, nothing.
Hm. I don’t know if we’re listening to the same album. Walrus, Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane, Fool on the Hill, All you need is love … these are amazingly good. Ever try to write a song?
It's not an LP though. It's an EP with some singles stuck on the end of it. (It does have some of their best songs though.)

This video is cool ! 😊
It blows my mind that the KKK can consider themselves Christians at all,Johns remarks are tame in comparison to the Klans actions.
And people complain of “cancel culture” like it’s some recent phenomenon lol turns out one of the K’s in the “KKK” stood for Kanceled 😐

“He could sleep indefinitely.
He was probably the laziest man in England.”

Who wrote with a little help from my friends?
Lennon and McCartney i believe.
Not Blue Hawaii, but Paradise, Hawaiian Style.

I can't imagine Happy Together existing without the Beatles' (plus Beach Boys') pioneering work.
Been a huge fan since age 5, Pepper is my least favorite release. It's corny, campy, Paul dominated junk.
