This is actually a weirdly brilliant satire of a show that came out around the same time and featured people blacking up. Because the show being parodied I remember famously scripted or planted people to be cartoonishly racist to the celebs who got blacked up, so this sketch is making fun of how fake the show was by tying it to something incredibly absurd to be violently angry towards - ginger hair. Of all things Bo Selecta season 3 has a spot on satire of manufactured outrage entertainment lol
