City Lights was great. BBC2 England used to schedule this at awkward times like 8pm on a Tuesday, so you could easily miss it. I always loved seeing the Scottish productions, always high quality and great seeing those familiar faces. Thanks for posting and unlocking a memory!
Great show this. Me and brother used to watch it when we were kids. Never realised it ran for 7 years. Always liked Gerard Kelly as well. I remember him from a really good Hammer House of Horror episode from 1980 about cannibals. Bit gutted when I found out he passed away in 2010. 😌
Good to see this show, but may I respectfully point out this isn't the original pilot for 'City Lights'. What it is is the first episode proper of the first series. There was a different actor playing Chancer in the pilot for one thing.
mr McCelland was a very fair boss and very considerate and understanding giiving Willie his job back time and time again and putting up with his poor timekeeping and lack of respect you wouldnt get this treatment in real life City Lights was Ace
