  • VHS footage of the RAF Church Fenton airshow 1992. Footage taken from beside the Tower and not the crowdline. Gives the shots a different perspective.
    Great shots of the Vulcan which I believe nearly stalled on the first bomb-bay doors open pass.at 21 mins, notice on second pass he did not bank as much..

    you are right about the near stall. It diverted off to Leeming that day. Some servos in the fuel system failed and the C of G drifted to one side. Good flying prevented a catastrophe.

    I remember this day well - can't comment on the Vulcan but a friend of mine who was freeloading at the fence made an official complaint about the Buccaneer take-off - serves him right! Great memories,

    I lived in Selby and my grandparents lived in Cawood, used to love Summers biking to Fenton :)

    Church Fenton closed down in the 1990s which is a pity as I used to live in Selby n used to watch the aircraft fly over for the displays good times
