Korea called Forestella (포레스텔라) 2) They were formed in 2017 through a 13-episode televised contest, called Phantom Singer, to find talent and form a classical crossover group. They are the second season winners. 3) Their names going left to right from the viewers perspective: Woorim Ko (고우림), 26 (youngest with that deep voice!) - Operatic Bass, and he was still a student when Forestella formed. Hyungho Kang (강형호), 32 - Tenor/Sopranist. Believe it or not he was a chemical engineer and has no professional training! He has a rock band called PITTA and he's a great fit for this group because he has an insane countertenor voice! Mingyu Cho (조민규), 29 - Operatic Tenor. He's the leader of the group and he was in graduate school when Forestella formed. Doohoon Bae (배두훈), 34 (oldest) - Musical actor with a baritenor range. 4) Like other classical crossover artists, they sing in many languages. Mostly Korean, Italian, English and Spanish, and one song with some Latin. 5) Unlike the US (and maybe some other English speaking countries judging by the comments!) Koreans are overachievers when it comes to foreign languages. Many of them are polyglots. Most of them learn at least a basic level of English as children, but it's a case of use it or lose it. There are private academies specifically for learning languages in Korea. Also, English is not the most common language they learn fluently. For classical music singers/student , most of songs were written in Italian, French ,Russian and German. And the heaven of musicians or singers now should be China or Japan ? Especially cross over music which is not much popular all over the world . For me if all of members of Forestella or BTS can speak English must be better (for me non - Korean fan) but not be necessary to waste time to do if they have to manage to do many things such as dance practice,rearrange or compose music, exercise for their strong singing organ. ..Sorry , I am not good English enough to explain all what I think.

I saw it live in February 2023. It is unimaginable!!! The whole show was!!! I believe I had my mouth hanging open the whole time, sitting on the edgr of my seat. I do not believe I've ever heard such beautiful harmony. And their interpretations of these songs is absolutely splendid, enchanting brilliance. As beautiful as they sound on social media, they are even more stunning in person.
Haters are gonna hate and of course no one can sing it the way Freddy did but I personally think this rendition deserves a worldwide recognition! One of the best and authentic Bohemian Rhapsody cover I’ve ever seen! Bravo!

it's BECAUSE they are brilliant singers. forestella is a classical crossover quartet not a kpop group. 2 of them are even opera singers. unfortunately classical crossover is very much a niche genre. i also think the fact that they get seen by doing covers can sometimes hamper their growth. people see these covers expecting one thing and then get something else when they hear forestella's own music.

Mama Mia!! They are brilliant singers, why are they not as famous as BTS or others? This group is the best I have seen from Korea so far ....
it's BECAUSE they are brilliant singers. forestella is a classical crossover quartet not a kpop group. 2 of them are even opera singers. unfortunately classical crossover is very much a niche genre.
i also think the fact that they get seen by doing covers can sometimes hamper their growth. people see these covers expecting one thing and then get something else when they hear forestella's own music.
