    Today I had the pleasure of meeting Plant Based Gabriel, a real dynamo with an inspiring story you must hear. He cooks an easy and delicious bean burger while he's talking. If only I knew what he knew at 25!
    Gabriel Miller is an author, speaker, chef and avid gardener. Gabriel was a starting football player at the University of Nebraska until he suffered a career-ending back injury. At the time, he was also pursuing a degree in livestock production, but after his injury he began to do his own research on diet and health. Unable to maintain his previous active lifestyle, Gabriel began searching for ways to lose weight and become healthy through his diet. In the process, Gabriel found that what he was learning in his classes not only contradicted what he was learning about health, but also contradicted his own beliefs about animal welfare and preserving the environment. Still, Gabriel chose to finish his degree while also pursuing his own research into sustainable and ethical agricultural practices that promote health. Now 100 pounds lighter than his playing weight, Gabriel runs his blog, Plant Based Gabriel, which is focused on helping individuals and families transition to a plant-based diet and vegan lifestyle. In addition to producing helpful recipes and videos, Gabriel also loves working on his vegan and organic vegetable farm.

    Gabriel has, hands down, the BEST plant based cookbook out there. The recipes are ALL great, doable and with that great midwestern flair. I have probably 50-100 vegan/plant based cookbooks and Gabriel’s is my all time favorite BY FAR. Simple ingredients. I hope he does another one. I love the idea of his wife doing one for a plant based pregnancy.

    Thank you for your interview with Gabriel, just followed him. Took me a while but now following a plant based diet and down 17lbs. Feel so much better with less bloating and inflammation. You truly inspire me...thank you, thank you.

    I also make bean patties, but I add sautéed onions, peppers and the oats, but I am going to try your rice version!! What a delightful young man, about the age of my oldest son. Gabriel, You are an inspiration, God bless you and your wonderful family, in all your ways!!

    What a marvelous opportunity to get together as a plant based community and appreciate each other’s comments and input. We’re truly becoming
    “Plant Strong”. With the price of meat almost double from last year here in California, I expect a lot more people to jump off the meat train, just to be able to afford feeding a family.

    I love plant-based Gabriel and follow him. I make his 3-2-1 Burgers all the time! They're so versatile. I use barley instead of brown rice and whatever beans I happen to have! I bake them then I freeze them so I can reheat them for a quick Burger on the go! I also have his book and think it's a great starting base for people who are looking to transition to eating healthy!     ty a.j and gabriel….........ive been searching for veggie options,,,,,,,,my sister is a vegitarian... my other sister cooks for her and needed advise as to how to help her. I have 120 lbs to lose so ty. u inspired me. oh we loved bridget, mom and nanny bubbles.

    Many cultures around the world have always eaten animals. In fact, ALL of them have, at least a little, and even if only seasonal. This is a part of humanity since the fall in the Garden. So especially awesome when someone comes from the heart of that world and understands the value of plants. They don't have mental/emotional bias, just the facts. Very refreshing.

      My ancestors on my dad's side, in India, who are Jain, never ate animals. So not ALL cultures. That is an American myth.

    Breastfeeding offers parents the option of delaying foods until the little one can self feed. My last baby was over 18 months old before she regularly ate foods. Breastmilk is all a growing human being needs for the first 24 months

    Just found your Chanel. I am following Dr McDougalls face book page. I asked anyone had they found a good bean burger that was simple not a whole lot of ingredients and didn’t fall apart. Well this is what they recommend. They were simple, delicious, and versatile. They are now my go

    Does anyone have a link to the patty press he uses? I checked his website and youtube page but didn't see a link. I checked Amazon but they have a zillion different presses and none looked quite like his. The one he uses seems much easier and simplistic than the many offerings I saw. Thanks to anyone who can offer a link!

    Bless our very smart young people who have discovered that the Standard American Disease Diet has done them nothing but harm. I have just about given up on my fellow baby boomers discovering the same, but who knows. Some of my cohort may also be able to achieve discovery!

    Gabriel could go back to school to study agriculture. Growing crops is a good alternative to raising animals for food.

    I hate adding salt at the table. Salt in my opinion brings out flavour of food while cooking. Not a lot just a touch.

    And he has a horrible spoiled child. A baby he put on this same diet, who now has a serious obsession with food. He puts a baby on the same diet he was, for weight loss. Not very good advice!

    I find it strange that he barely acknowledged his wife standing right next to him holding their daughter. It could be a lack of social skills, I guess. If a friend or my partner had been standing next to me during recording, I would be looking at them to include them in the conversation I was having with AJ.
