Great freaking video. I learned everything you just said after watching a couple hundred videos and through experience and you summed it up in 9 minutes. I really cannot believe this information is for free. Great job mate. This video is a must for anyone starting on calisthenics and any other kind of training to be honest
Yeah pulling is far harder to develop, but once you build up a solid base, you'll find there to be way more carry over into lots of skills e.g. if you can learn to do body rows, you will find pull ups significantly easier =] Keep pushing, Anita!
I cannot state enough how much I enjoy your videos man. You break things down so that they are so easy to understand. I can't wait for the beginner calisthenics video
Looking for guidance on how to get started with calisthenics on RUclips, it seemed that the majority was just click-baity "get super-strong with these 17 exercises!!1!" videos without a whole lot of substance. I really enjoyed this video and your style of teaching. You seem genuinely interested in sharing knowledge and experience, rather than just showing off.
I love the video bro. I have been watching from early on you channel and you can see that you have gotten a lot more definitions in your abs and you even look healthier in your skin
Like so many people said in their comments: your videos are a great ressource for a beginner! Im really looking forward into starting calisthenics this year and this playlist is a huge help. Big thx man!
At the moment I’m what would be considered as a skinny fat kinda guy but I’m watching this video and damn there is more info in this video alone compared to most of the rest of the internet. Imma start to pair some calisthenics like this with some full body cardio and see some results! Thanks for the motivation man you’re the best!
Hey, I know you focus a lot on progressional moves so do you think you could think about doing a video on starting from nothing with prehabilitation like you mentioned in this. There were also some cool progressions I saw in relation to that portion of the video
My training is split (mon)skill (tue)strength - break and repeat (weekend off) as over weight some skills dreadful with & no chance of German hang so regressed too do stretch for in mean time.
Ton anglais est bien meilleur que mon français hahaha! Welcome to the channel, Joe!

@@CaliToTheCrowd thanks i really appreciate that you Share ! I ve found à solution to improve or Master the transition to muscle up by using as you shown using a élastique band
Ohh okay so i should be doing pull ups as much as i do push ups 😯 I am just having a hard time to build my pulling ability because there is no place or a bar at home to hang on. Anyways, this video is so helpful especially for those who start calisthenics including me lol. Thanks!
balancing strength in different movement patterns is so important! I found that once I increased my focus on pushing, my pulling strength increased, and I think it is because the joint (in this case the shoulders) was more structurally sound! Keep going man, you'll get it! 👊🏿
Andrew, any suggestions on home equipment to purchase that can help in developing and completing pull strength at home (no gym)? I’ve seen dip bars or pa roulette bars for example.
hmmm... For pulling strength, the two pieces of equipment I would suggest are: Rings are almost a must in my opinion I'd also say a doorway pull up bar What exercises are you mainly looking to develop? Just conscious that you couldn't do muscle ups on a doorway pull up bar if that was what you were looking to do =]
I get what you said about pulling and pushing equally but I am far stronger at pushing than pulling and it is making learning how muscle up so difficult 😪
Me too! I cant pull nearly as explosively as I can push, but I know I will get there eventually. I just have to keep at it. It is mad frustrating at times though!
yeah the balance between the two is so important. Just be careful at only doing the one that you are good at - because that is damned tempting. Just think of it this way: training what you're worse at will be a larger marginal gain than training something you are already good at =]
@@CaliToTheCrowd haha its honestly from doing years of what you described in the video: Pushing way more in proportion to pulling. I used to do the lat pulldowm machine, but I rarely did horizontal pulling like bent over rows because I always felt like they hurt my low back. I also never deadlifted or really focused on the lower part of the posterior chain. That is probably why I used hurt my hamstrings quite often playing soccer! Additionally, I never got good at vertical pushing just horizontal so there is a lagging strength in there too. Thankfully I found calistenics so I can address all of these issues and create a more balanced, mobile, flexible, and stronger physique than I ever got trying to lift weights!
Yeah horizontal pulling is soooo underrated! not to mention that it actually benefits vertical pulling too! You're right in that with weights you have to be very focused on not missing any of these areas, but with Calisthenics, and the compound lifts that you do, you can't escape becoming more a more well rounded athlete (to steal your words) 💪🏿
Size can be built, but if that is your primary focus the that may be hard to achieve as a calisthenics beginner. If you want to build size using calisthenics, then definitely work on understanding the movements you are looking to develop, and then progressively overload them; i.e. increase range, slower reps, shorter rest times, add weights etc.

Mate, that is so nice to hear!
I pour my heart into making these videos and I'm so glad whenever they help anybody.
Really glad you enjoyed it, Cesar!
I am a pusher, several push ups are way easier than a pulling up for me. I want to do pull ups easily also....

Just so I understand your question, do you mean If you started today - day 1 - what would good prehabilitation look like?
Perfect💯👍
Such an effective and motivational communication style. So good.

Sounds awesome. How's that going, Ken?
@@CaliToTheCrowd would it be better too work on strength for while as still heavy and lose say 10kg before working on skills at present 100.75kg??

Pull up is a difficult one for almost everybody. Just gotta keep pushing and working on those stabiliser muscles =]
