Fantastic find! The house I grew up in had that exact same model. Over the years I used it a great deal. For the most part it was trouble free. I know we replaced the hose and accessories at least once, maybe more. But with extensive use in a big house full of kids, that is to be expected, kind of like brakes and tires on a car. Have fun with your new tool! I wish I had it.
Owen, I'm glad to see a video on this. I couldn't think of a better person for it. It originally came from a local estate sale. The guy worked for the Sears catalog warehouse in Greensboro, NC. The whole house was Sears appliances. He bought this in anticipation for building a new house, his wife ended up dying, and the new house never happened. I found it and didn't know what it was at first, until I read the boxes. It was neat to see. He also had other NOS Sears stuff for a house garage door openers etc. It spent many years in the garage. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it and all the best!

Totally cool Owen!
Always a treat when Owen uploads!
That's an awesome haul!
Wondering what motor was in that unit and what it sounded like, wonder if the motor still works after all this time.
Owen if you ever want to sell that with the hose and tools id love to buy it from you
Yes, the PowerMate would have been mid 1980s. My parents had a beige canister with black trim that had that exact PowerMate.
Very nice!! What year would this have been made?!
Thanks! These items range from mid 1970s to mid 1980s.
My heart hurts see those hoses torn. Lol😢😅. At least you can use hose ends to make new hose. 😁
I know! Never used, yet ruined 😢 I'll have to Zambrano something together 😉
