    For anyone saying just use superglue, some plastics (if it says PP or PE) are oily and only get glued by melting. There are some very expensive industrial glues for these plastics that still will not hold as well as melting. Very good video.

    Excellent tips on how to weld plastics and make useful tips for a soldering iron. One suggestion on the triangle plastic repair: The metal mesh used is a little too small as it should overlap on the borders of the repair piece. Also, consider using the plastic from the offcut (the broken piece) to melt over the mesh to fully cover it. If you don't have stainless steel mesh, use fly screen mesh....or a small piece of NEW steel wool, the one you use to wash dishes. Keep them coming!

      Actually, that's what it was originally made for: liquid stitches. It was made to close lacerations without the need for numbing before stitches.

      I guess it depends on what fiber you have available. Steel wool is cheap and one piece can be used to repair dozens of plastic cracks. You can also use a piece of cotton like from a shirt....NOT Polyester..:)

    what kind of metal rod you put inside the solder? any specific kind?

      It's a normal nail, made of ordinary steel. Iron nail will be good too.
      In the 1st part the rod was of aluminium

      0:23 aluminium - I didn’t realise that was aluminium but it makes sense now.
      Apart for that one, a galvanised steel nail is used.

      Это была сломанная или уже использованная ручка, её только выбросить - а вот пригодилась как запчасть. У меня самого куча таких запчастей - пригодятся возможно.

      Нет: чтобы чинить что-то мало-нужное самому, если чинить редко - потребуется потратить уйму времени, много хороших инструментов и несколько ненужных вещей.

    Oh come on use some glue. Either super glue or PFF both cst about £2 PFF glue is the stuff they use on phone screens. It sticks anything..

    I read that the fumes from melting plastic are carcinogenic. Shouldn't there be some safety warnings in this video?
