Why Nagaland govt could not arrange direct market for rubber growers .... Assam are at control of Nagaland rubber price when producers are naga. We are getting only half price in rubber market . Next Nagaland govt should open an free training center for rubber tapping. If Nagaland govt is sencire Rubber farming can accomodate thousands of youth unemploy.
There should be a centre where farmers should be able to sell their rubber products instead of selling their products to dalals which we get only 60 percent
Assam people will always get the benefit because they are the main market price controller…..even if we are the owner they will come to our place and finalise the price for example ( Betel nuts , agar wood and rubber)
Because of Underground taxations in Nagaland can not establish industry so we Nagas must wakeup . But I am also a small planted rubbers trees so I want several times to rubber board of India in Dimapur for small financial help to find as per their advice and some people got but I want several times only money lost.
We use to get less than ₹200 per kilo in our village under Mokokchung district so many farmers are cutting the trees and goes for other options like tea, tamul(areca nut) etc.
Rubber plantations are bad for the environment in the long run as it diminishes the ground water level. States like Kerela are already moving away from planting rubber trees.
"Nation's shortage" . why only Nagaland. Kerala has opted to cashew nuts many years back /adverse effects on the soil. Other areas, land near the plantation, no longer organic. Some strategic studies are needed to be done by the govt. Eg ,the amount of oxygen we get from a rubber tree .
Rubber plants can have negative effects on soil in a number of ways, including: Soil detachment: Rubber tree plantations can cause soil detachment that is 10-23 times higher than maize plantations. Soil erosion: Rubber plantations can cause soil erosion due to a lack of biomass from other plants and the direct input of sunlight. Soil quality: Rubber plantations can reduce the amount of organic carbon in the soil by 24%. Water levels: Rubber plantations can cause water levels to deplete due to the obstruction of sunlight. Water holding capacity: Rubber trees have a low water holding capacity. Nutrient loss: Rubber plantations can cause substantial nutrient loss. Monocultures: Rubber plantations are often cultivated in monocultures, which can exhaust the soil and lead to soil and water pollution. Fertilizers and pesticides: Rubber plantations require a lot of fertilizers and pesticides.
Even in USA there's no rubber plantation, although they've given some unscrupulous reasons for not growing rubber plants because rubber plants are native to entire America(both South & North)! Just giving a fair assessment from geopolitical perspective, globally!
The thing about the US agriculture industry is that farmers there avoid growing cash crops that require expensive processing. Take rubber plantations, for example: turning sap into usable rubber involves a lot of costly steps, and in developed countries, the cost of processing and manufacturing is extremely high. That's why American farmers, especially in the Rust Belt, focus on cash crops they can export directly to places like China. It’s more profitable and less hassle for them.
Europe doesn't have rubber plantations because the EU imports natural rubber from other countries, such as Africa and Southeast Asia. The EU consumes over a million tons of natural rubber each year. Rubber production can have negative effects on the environment and human rights, including: Deforestation: Rubber production is linked to deforestation in Africa, where it's one of the main commodities used to convert rainforest to agriculture. Soil erosion: Rubber growing can lead to soil erosion. Hazardous waste: Rubber processing can lead to hazardous waste. Chemical smells and pollution: Rubber processing can lead to chemical smells and pollution. Social conflict: Rubber cultivation has been linked to social conflict and human rights abuses in some areas.
This is great. Thank you Global Window for the coverage. I hope our freedom fighters will at least support this project
without interference.

Avoid growing cash crops and yet they focus on cash crops for exports for more profit! Nice! 🦀

Nagaland has lot's of potential but too many fractions demanding money from sincere and hard working Nagas.
Nagas should consider the long term implications of Rubber plantation, not everything that's economically profitable is ecologically sustainable.
All talk , fed up of hearing potential
Is rubber considered a cash crop?
Larger farms tend to grow cash crops such as coffee, tea, cotton, cocoa, fruit and rubber
The most important thing how to sell to consumers directly was not dealt at all?
Helo

Sir Can you collect the data area of untapped rubber farm in Nagaland.
