Maths teacher here: this is NOT a histogram- notice how the y axis is frequency and not frequency density. To find the frequency of each bar on a real histogram, you would multiply the class width by the frequency density
It's a histogram. The one you talked about is also another way of plotting histogram.

it is not a histogram. it is the frequency diagram. the histogram should have frequency density in y-axle.
@Suhoom It's a histogram. Bar charts usually have spaces between the bars. A histogram uses data from a frequency table.
@@jh3142 You can plot a bar chart from a frequency table such as for categorical data. This is neither a bar chart nor a histogram
I tied this method to visualize and appreciate the median concept:
Instead of a graphical histogram, make a linear set of observations:
{6, 6, 6.5, 6.5, ...9 times.. ...7.5, 7.5, .... 25th & 26th value... 7.5, 7.5, ....... .. 8.5, 8.5, 9, 9}
Clearly, the 25th & 26th values are 7.5. Median value: 7.5
wrong- med is at 7.7

@@cassinova9241 It's considered/known as the "middle number". The "average amount of sleep" as you stated would be the mean. So educate yourself first before you try to be rude to someone else who's confused.
Basically it means the half of the days you slept more than the observed median hour and for the other half of the days you slept less than that

You shouldn't have pulled random numbers that don't relate to the graph. This makes it confusing to what you're looking at since both sides of the frequency and sleep hours are similar. When someone like me is comparing what I have to what you might have, in this simplistic view, I cannot figure out what you're doing step by step.

That is a histogram because each block is in contact with each other. There is a gap at the beginning and the end because the amount of hours that you slept is at a minimum of 6 hours and not 0. So you can't get any results for 1 hour, 2 hour, 3 hour, 4 hour and 5 hour
