I enjoyed your adventure going after this humble little fruit belonging to the famous Rosaceae family!
Thank you. It might be humble but it is delicious
Never heard of these before
They grow all over Europe
@@allthefruit neat :)
95% of the things our ancestors ate regularly are unknown to their heirs...
@@edi9892 I agree with you fully
Really enjoyable video, thanks
According to a study, the portuguese word 'sorvado' is used to designate over ripe fruit, is derived from the Sorbus trees ('sorveiras') as these trees' berries were to be consumed in the over ripe state.
Makes sense
That's cool, never heard of it. Wish I could find a tree.
Where do you live?
@@allthefruit Central Washington, USA growing zone 6. Love seeing the rest of the world!!!
I bought a medlar tree have 1 fruit on it now. Very curious of taste. Neat info about the checker board
Wait till your medlar gets soft on the tree and hope it does not rot
@@allthefruit hah, I sure hope I can tell the difference. I saw a video with one that looked rotten but that was the way to eat it.
Great to know information 🤘👍🇬🇧❕
Thank you
Adlitzbeerwasser (Austria) is made with these fruits
Thank you, i did not know sth like that existed
Thanks for the video! What castle is this near?
You are welcome. Schanzenköpfle. It is a former castle, just a few walls visible
You remind me of the Danish guy from Survival Russia
Danish? Russia? 🤔
@@allthefruit I guess he wanted guns 😂

So, Danish it is? I thought that it's not German but some other Germanic language accent.
Do these grow fast?
No, it is a slow growing, very tough and valuable timber
