This is the third cocktail channel video I’ve seen that features Mr Black. I’m starting to think that this whole espresso martini resurgence happened because Mr Black’s marketing team pushed this stuff HARD and paid a bunch of content creators to advertise their product
Can't get Mr. Black in the stores here and I haven't tried it yet, but your recipes sound amazing and I'll for sure try them with the homemade coffee liqueur I made for the Revolver episode recently 🤩
I'm in the same boat Kevin, and I might have to get off my chair and make your coffee liqueur too! It looks very nice and because you clearly explained the process, I have very few excuses left.
@@AccursedSlug thanks! I can't it will yield the same result as Mr. Black but it makes for some nice cocktails. And if you want to check out another awesome coffee liqueur recipe make sure to watch the latest video from @Truffles on the rocks - he made his with vodka.
Can’t wait to try these! But please oh please don’t exclude tasting notes. They turn a helpful instructional and informational video into something even better: a shared experience. Plus they help me prioritize what to make first. Thanks for the great content!
Finally made the Cafe con Leche Flip and it's even better than I thought it would be. Usually I use Kraken as my black rum because of the allspice flavor of Cruzan but that flavor totally works in this cocktail. Thanks!
To Mr Leandro, I’m making espresso martinis soon for a family dinner. I’m thinking of the simple syrup used in this incredible recipe. Just wondering, if I was to make the simple syrup, what would be the most simple way to make a small batch of simple syrup?( I’m making enough espresso martinis for three people.) Thanks again for the advice and education. Your the best bartender I’ve ever seen.
I have the feeling Writer's tears would be so good in your Black Irish! Oh and I'm always amazed when some say they envy cold weather. For sure you never experienced a rough winter. I'm sure if you ever do, you'll never leave Cali again LOL
I grew up in Boston. I know what winter is. That said if you ever lived in a place that has just slight temp changes for each season, you’d get what I mean
@@TheEducatedBarfly You know, I'm just a grinch who hates winter. So many of my friends love winter and outdoor sports. I hate it so bad that I just don't get it. But I do appreciate fall though. The only problem here in Quebec is it only last 2 weeks then you get 8 months of cold rough snowy windy wacky winter LOL
I have a recipe identical to your Black Irish in my recipe document, called the "Black Shamrock", not entirely sure where I yoinked it from but it has the exact same proportions and even the same garnish (minus flaming).
To be honest, this is your best video. Nice cuts, flawless presentations, incredible creative recipes. Just perfect. I am only a little sad because everything you used is soooo expensive in Brazil. It's really a shame.
I have the same espresso machine at home (but then the European Solis branded "version"). I like the simple machine, it is a great addition to any home bar, it gets you into the whole barista world without breaking the bank :)
@@Runge_was_here The Solis (EU) variant is called "Caffespresso Pro 117", Breville (US) calls it "The Infuser". It's an older model at this point so not sure if you could find it. I'd recommend taking a look at James Hoffmann and Seattle Coffee Gear YT channels to see what is best ATM :)
Great recipes and video. I don't think the cola syrup recipe was included. Really want to try it. I've been looking to switch up cocktails that call for colas and use syrups instead. Thanks!
Went to a bar the other day with the husband, he asked what I was thinking of getting... 'Something to wake me up, and something to f**k me up', the barman pops up from nowhere and says 'You after an Espresso Martini?' It's now my most favourite bar in the world (their whisky selection doesn't hurt either)
Jesus, 110º? It's, like, 50º where I am while watching this. A coffee cocktail I really like is the Evolved Revolver from David Leibovitz, which I think has a recipe quite similar to the Black Irish in this video.
I can't get Mr Black where I live, but I recall it being described as a mixture of cold brew and alcohol, unsweetened and without any other flavouring ingredients. Is that right? (So that I can create my own at home of course!)
@@MrBlackSpirits Wow, I did not expect a response from you, but thank you very much! I am from Hungary, and I cannot really find Mr. Black coffee liqueur here, but truth be told, I haven't tried importing it yet, if that's a possibility.
In my espresso martini, I love to use half an ounce of Sambuca instead of simple syrup. In the end it is like making an Espresso Martini with a correct espresso. In addition, I also add a pinch of salt to bring out the taste of the coffee even more
3:54 - what was the BSR you used? My homie and I were discussing black strap vs Dark vs Anejo vs Spiced - and didn't get a whole lotta answers. for Dark n Stormy's/mai tai/ jungle bird, i've been using Plantation OD
I still can’t get Mr. Black here yet either, but I did find Coppermuse version to stand in for now. It’s pretty good, but very sweet so I cut down on simple most of the time.
For the Flip, what blackstrap rum did you use? I always have trouble finding rums that are labeled as blackstrap, even though sometimes they will have the word "black" on the label.
Beautiful! Especially the Delight. I can't seem to get Mr Black here in Sweden, is there anything that you can sub it for? Even if it includes combining 2 or more bottles.
For the longest time I couldn't get Mr. Black anywhere here in Germany and even now that it's available it's unfortunately rather pricey at about 30 bucks per bottle. Luckily i found a really good Berlin based coffee liqueur called Co'ps. It's infused with cola nuts and isn't overly sweet so it would probably work really well in your Afternoon Delight (named after the song, or a scene in Anchorman^^?)
Would you be against making any mix drinks with the Guinness nitro cold brew coffe. It's a pretty good stand alone drink but just wished it had a bit more creaminess without to much sweetness to it.
What’s something similar to the black strap rum if I can’t find that bottle?

Cafe Lolita is good, Tia Maria is also great, Khalua has its uses but just be weary to dial up and down extra sugar depending on the sweetness of the coffee Liqueur and of course you can always make your own :)
