95 degrees still huh should be cooling off a little bit for ya hopefully. That 110 crap has got to be brutal! Everything is looking sweet Lee see ya next time brother. 😉✌
I think swapping the bottom panels was absolutely the right call, and worked out well for both cars. I like the idea of reusing the bottom carpet to break up the black, I think that will look a lot better.
You have an indomitable spirit Lee like the way you prioritize and work your way through things. The buckets turned out great and the rest of the interior looks a challenge that I'm sure you will overcome!
The interior continues to shape up real nice. Like the panels you installed. Glad you put the aftermarket panels in the black one. That works for both cars. Dye Color looks good on the parts you re-dyed. Look forward to next time!
Mr. B. Here ! 👀😎. I am a big , big fan of two tone interior designs ! When working at Oldsmobile Dealer years age met GM Designers at that time we were toll it was cheaper to make . Yes where customers who wanted one color but not everyone ! Leave it to sales departments ( oh you can save money; CaCa ) you pay for interior anyway color makes a car ! Very nice job on your so far ! 😎👍😎👍👀. 🍻
I think if you paint the speaker door panels the camel color they would look sharp Moving the original door panels to the SS was a good call and they look great
Like the way you work. Use whats available and make it better with what you find. I’m would call my self a drive way restorer. Especially now when my son comes home with objekts from the 60:th and 70:th. Don’t know were he gots the interest from 😂 Anyway. Hard to find parts and extensive, so we do like you, but in a smaller scale. Shorter season as well in northern Scandinavia. Keep on what you are doing. 😊/T
hi lee awesome work love watching and learning a lot of your skills i noticed the jams in both cars are like new no rust for being a original doors thank you for sharing. have a great day you and nikky door panel came out awesome
Oh dang I forgot to say I think paint the black bottoms to match the top, and you could even do the speaker grills it would look really awesome the old color but new molded speaker panels. Only one like it. I love how good you made those arm rests look.
That my son has a 87 square body pick up and I told him about the lower panel that you're putting on your El Camino with the dual speakers. Maybe they make something like that for square body pick up. I will share this video with him.
Masonite and flooring adhesive for the cards. I’ve restored the grain on plastic with JB weld and sandpaper. Spread it thin and lift the texture with a popsicle stick. Lift it off. It makes peaks then let it harden and sand it Dow and paint it.
My kid & I worked on an '85 for her 1st car in 2016/2017. Looking @ the spreadsheet, I for some reason still have, I gave 90 for the weather strips & 80 for the felts to a guy in here in the states. So, yeah, the prices are stupid now. Anyway, panels look nice 👌. I like the black, but maybe paint the armrest black. Looking forward to this thing being done.
Hey lee if you cut some of that headliner material and stick in in the sides of them seats it would help with the wrinkles the sun will help some just trying to help 👀 good 👍
I think you should spring for another can of paint.hit those black ones and give them one more coat.ever heard of spray 9 its the best anything remover it removes grease grime mold you should pick a bottle up. well thats about all..peace...
That tan paint came out good. On the black car, you should either paint the arm rests black or the new black plastic tan. Looks a lot off the way it is now.
BROOOO !!!!! THOSE DOOR PANELS WITH MOLDED DOUBLE SPEACKER MOANTS OR F#&& BAD ASS !!! DO THEY MAKE THEM FOR A 3RD GEN CAMARO!✌🏻💗👍🏻OLD CHEVY NEVER DIE THEY GET MORE EXPENSIVE ✌🏻
Lee, don't run the cats off! The other day I was watching one of your video's and one of them was coughing up a fur ball! You can't script this stuff man! Keep it up. BTW I think that metal piece that's melted on back of the panel gives it strength for closing the door with that hand hold...that's if you don't use the pull strap instead. I hope you find a way to use that metal piece. Otherwise your new panel may break on you when closing the door.
Didn't know those newer El Camino the cubby hole with the full-length. Not like my 72 El Camino. I had to replace my floor in my cubby hole. But I had a panel that I could take off from the bed to do that. You don't in the newer ones.
Lee does that company that you got through lower panels from make any for different models of cars? I’m going to email you a link I found about “chroming” plastic it’s for model makers but some of them look awesome!!! I love the two projects at once thing you are awesome great idea!!
If you’re still looking for a tailgate and rear bumper for your elcamino I was watching puddins fab shops latest video, and he was at a junkyard that had a elcamino. I think he’s in Oklahoma
My ex-wife ordered a mahogany dining table from China $180 free shipping she said for that price she'd be stupid to not order it when it came in it was a antique mahogany dining table for a dollhouse it was only 4" tall and 6" long 😅
The black looks awful. The black plastic looks cheesy. Paint it tan . They sell covers for the pull straps . The glued on dash cover looks awful. I have put a cover on mine . You can not tell . Then again I took the dash out to do it . Must say the seat recover looks good . Some of your best work .

It was one hot summer.
I think swapping the bottom panels was absolutely the right call, and worked out well for both cars. I like the idea of reusing the bottom carpet to break up the black, I think that will look a lot better.

Thanks

Thanks
The interior looks great! Maybe I’m OCD, but I think I’d spray the dash and new door panels the original color. Lol, cheers! 🍻

All looks good and what you're doing. Gives me ideas as well.

Just search on ebay
that 78 El Camino dashboard decal is like impossible to find -___-
yes, nobody makes them
yea finding them used super hard to find as well @@clunkersandclassics
I think it look good either way remember that is a kick panel kinda sorta.
Hi Lee, i would put a piece of carpet in that bottom slot instead of that plastic cover it would look more original.
not enough left over carpet
Lee, finish the camel color on the arm rests surrounds,,,,,Looks 100x Better!
If you’re still looking for a tailgate and rear bumper for your elcamino I was watching puddins fab shops latest video, and he was at a junkyard that had a elcamino. I think he’s in Oklahoma
That junk yard is 4 1/2 hours from me, too far. Probably end up going to the Dallas area for parts.
Anytime you need to bond something together use panel bond for cars super strong
Maybe put some tape or something over the big holes in the frame of the door to somewhat insulate and save the door panels.
Maybe use the tan carpet you power washed and use it at the bottom. ?? Some double sided tape would probably hold the velcro for you.
Switch the insides. And use heating and air conditione silver crome metal tape for the 1/4" peice on doors.
You can go buy Velcro that has both sides at Wally world to attach that panel. I would like to put that in my El Camino 72 but my panel is 1 panel.
I think you should change them out
How did u screw the arm rest on
Fiberglass resin to stiffen soft cardboard
You can get it's called foam board to use on the top of the door panel.
How did you disconnect the cable mirror from the finish plate/bezel?
small allen key
do you have any seats for 78-80 elcamino for sale?
not good ones
Put a Bluetooth headunit and speakers in the 78
Try rolling the windows down and see if they'll hit your speakers. I hope they don't.
they don't

Rivets will work , JB will brake
Paint it
