I own a female pup and she is quite stubborn and tries to get her own way, but she is great with family and a hard worker on the farm. She knows her job and is very helpful on the farm. I wouldn’t recommend this dog to anyone that doesn’t have time to train. This dog without proper attention will destroy everything they get their mouths on. Only get one if you can spend all of your time with them and really socialize and train them. I love my female Dutch Shepard, she is a great dog.
I wish i knew that before i got my bitch.. Lol.... Her brothers are soo cool but my girl and her sisters are really some divas!! BUT mine is so incredible cuddly. She want to sit in our lap all day.. That was cute when she ws 8 weeks - but now when she is 15 months.. it is STILL cute lol!!! I LOVE her so much.. incredibe dog.
@@DogsNowChannel Absolutely... I jump up and down on my chair every time i see you post anything about the breed.. Your channel has had the most correct info about the breed. as well - so Cudos for doing the reserach.. And THIS video is super important for everyody wanting a Dutchie. I know most bitches ( like the rest of us female population..lol ) can be a bit nervy and difficult..and often prone to phobias etc.. but i had no idea a dutchie bitch was so over the top.. in all the good ways as well.. :)
Where are you getting this information from? Some of its accurate ish but good with kids? These dogs are not family dogs lol people need to learn about working lines versus watered down Versions of dog breeds. A Dutch shepherd is just a brindle malinois. True working dogs are horrible family dogs just saying. The American view on these dog is not what it should be at all. They were bred for war by Russians and Germans lol some of them can be god family dogs but no there not just good family dogs
Dutch Shepherds "bred for war?" They are herders, possibly the best of all shepherd breeds. On Dutch farms they operated almost entirely without human supervision. It was quite common for a Dutch Shepherd being in sole charge of a herd of sheep all day, then bring the flock in at night, again on their own, staying with the flock during the night, and take them out to pasture in the morning. They are scarily intense, driven dogs, fiercely independent, and to my mind the most intelligent breed of dog on the planet. And "just brindle Malinois?" You got to be kidding. For one thing, they're an older breed, looking and behaving exactly like they did 200-300 years ago!
@@shynihunterptmy 1year old is amazing with our other dog. All she wants to do is be around our 9 year old lab mix. We also have a couple of cats and thus far we have had no issues with her around the cats. I joking tell my wife the cats bully our Dutch.
Mine is good with kids, infact i have 4 kids . She comes from KNVP lines, so a more "intense dog". She is also good at hearding poultry and had never killed a bird. Her obedience is good enough that she can also be around rabbits. She is still suspicious of strangers but not outright agressive. She does bite work too.
