My Westjet Encore experience from Seattle to Calgary was unexpected

I loved working Q400 when I was with Republic. Ours had the NSS (Noise Suppression System) so it wasn't too bad. I'm a turbo-prop Geek as I was raised on Convair 580s. To me the noise is like music to my ears. Sometimes when working the Q400 we would have up to 7 legs a day. Fun. jason.
All of my local Q400s are now gone. Boise used to be a main Q hub with horizon, but everything is now a E175 or bigger. 7 legs a day is crazy!
You’ll be happy to hear WJA is flying B737s to and from SEA for the summer. Not sure if they’ll revert to the Q for the winter, though I suspect that’s quite likely.
I do wonder if they have picked up any of Horizon/Alaska airlines Qs? My home airport used to be a main base, now all the Qs are gone in favor of E175s.
@@TrizityTraveling A few former Horizon Qs have been ferried to YYC. Don’t know if they’re being parted out and cannibalized to help maintain Westjet’s Qs or if they’re being refurbished and re-homed at another airline, though.
Good report, as always. SEA is much larger than I thought and the lounge looked OK but not special. The drone on turbo props makes me sleepy. Don't expect to join the Saturday gathering going to an early summer cookout. Take care
SEA is surprisingly big with the two satellite concourses. I'm probably going to schedule a couple of alternate times for streaming as I've also got Saturday conflicts coming up...Might schedule Sunday evening...stay tuned.
Fly twice in a Q400 back when they where flying out of Boise. Not a fan of the Q400. Glad they no longer fly out of Boise. Love the Embraer 175 that you flew into Seattle. I like the 1 - 2 1st Class seat configuration.
100% agree. I'm a big fan of the E175 as the replacement for the Qs & CRJs.

Good question! I've not had a FA come over the PA in mid takeoff telling someone to sit like that...someone must have had to go really bad!
