Theme of "Oh no I sure hope it's not those two driller tanks that can incapacitate your front liners in a single attack even if you delay and smoke them"
Tip use the 2 of the mortars to use the stuns mortars aoe like elector mines. for the yellow and something like frag shell before they spin up. If you only get one stunned that is fine then swap to someone that can drop the other on the non stunned one and unload tills it gone. By then the other has spun things up and then you do the same but make sure to use targeted stun mortar skills. Don't forget you can also swap/move any number of kids out along rows to get a better time order for them. You then at worst will ever only get one drill to the face but odds are you destroy both before they get the attack off even the red ones.
Thanks to Chick inflicting bad luck I can always stun them reliably. While I love cute stuff I was had the "Must protect" reaction until this game entrüstet these children to my guidance. "You want to injure my little one? Not under my watch." That makes these tanks very satisfaying to watch. Another satisfaying view point is why there strat and team work comes from the player in universe it comes from them. It is very satisfaying watching them efficiantly and methodicly take down there enemies while avoiding injuries. They are so cool and competent.
I saw an interesting tactic the other day, with 2 turns left, defend and bench all your characters. Benched characters cannot be injured. They patched this in the second game by making it impossible to bench all characters at the same time.
by the end of the game (first playthrough) my crew was strong enough to just take them down before they could actually hit, so that became my late-game strategy for it....
That's literally "By my tail" motif from solatorobo

The song of "You better square up!"
I always want to face the best what the Berman army has to offer head on.
Man that Chick and Hanna combo saved me with the free healing 😭
Ah, the dangerous route music is awesome.
The path of regret. Oh boy, have I regretted it a lot.
The theme of regretting your decision to see how bad this next Elite Battle was.
Spoilers: It’s usually worse than you thought.
The route of the Sponge damage tanks.
A challenging battle!
The only way to feel real battle is the hardest one, and I'm glad I didnt give up and finish it
Who would win?
Two highly advanced tanks, capable of launching a massive drill at their enemies
Or
One corgi girl with the power of zap-zaps
alternatively: chonky cat boy power (and kyle)
My favorite of the three standard enemy battle themes!
Kinda funny that I was horrified when I heard this ost when it popped up sometime in normal battles when I'm not choosing the elite battle route.
You chose the dangerous route. Now prove you can stand up to it, cuz it's too late to regret your route choice now. >:D
I was always up to it and I still ended up lossing 2 children.
The way to the true ending is the hardest one, and I choose to make it even harder
That second purple enemy fight took longer to do that the first boss. There were a few times I thought I was going to lose to them!
Only the resolute can best the dangerous route!!
