Awesome to see new rising bands in the younger generation making music in the rock scene and keeping its impact going. We need more bands like these guys and Pastel who have been hard working and progressing talents.
Couldn’t agree more 👍👍
At last the wheel is turning and genuinely talented guitar based indie Brit bands are in the ascension! Great share.
Yeah man it’s exciting times 🎸🎸🎸
If only the States had bands like this all I hear in my neck of woods are shitty pop bands that try to play guitar
I actually picked up on them on FB as a Fan of pastel. It was one of those if you like Pastel you will like these guys and was blown away. It's so good to see the youth of today starting these bands and giving us 90's kids hope for indie guitar music.
Have a go on our band mate. Might be up yer street
Thank you, James for the awesome review and video. Appreciated.
Never heard of them before your video and i've decided to support them just because i'm french and i come from Marseille (also because they sound pretty good with a proper 90's vibe).
Thanks James, i'm going to share this
Unbelievable band. especially for their age
Good to see a band that doesn’t have keyboards, and sounds like it’s a great thing. (No slam against bands who do have keyboards in the band, it’s that these guys don’t need them.)
I love this band - I got to see them at Y Not, IOW festival and a couple of other gigs.
I believe they’re heading for great things.
Thank you for posting. 👍
Well, brilliant!
they’re the best band around currently :)
Pastel are 100 times better
Yeah they’re one of a bunch of the next generation of top guitar bands
Exciting times!

The best news is people are rating home grown guitar bands again. 😊
I'm getting Hurricane #1 vibes.
That’s some good indie rock n roll right there!
Just listened to all their songs on Spotify. They are amazing! I really do hope they do get to the top!!! 😁😁😁 spot on mate!!!
Really enjoyed that.
Glad to hear it!
Sounds a little too much like Oasis. I mean, their song, "Thinker", sounds very, very close to 'Don't go away'. They're young. I think, in time, they'll carve their own sound and style, hopefully. I wish them well. I just hope they don't get stuck in the past. Inspired? yes, as a launching point, but not sounding like the bands they love from the 90's, in my opinion.
this is what I came to say, the sound is great but it feels derivative.
Yup, I agree. Need a more original sound. They sound like a 90s Brit pop cover band. Sorry James but these guys and pastel are hard pass for me.
Good band. Along with The Institutes, Pastel. And us!
They sound great. Haven’t heard or seen any British indie band like this since oasis, the verve, and all the other bands from the 90s. The lead singer has a voice combo of himself, Liam Gallagher, Richard Ashcroft, Kelly jones from stereophonics, and john power from cast. amazing to hear this type of music these days. They have the potential to be big ❤
James, Marseille I know them for at lease 2 years. This is one of the best new group unknown similar to the Brit pop from the 90s.
Also I got another Indie band who called the utopiates that what it’s takes to become popular too. Their songs are really good.
Yeah Man these are Class!
Also another one is "Monkey in the Middle" Live for introducing East Midlands on RUclips! Which is what got Me Right into them!
It's Great seeing young Bands like these & other's coming through! Cheers 🍻
Monkey In The Middle really is a great tune!
Sayyyy something
It's getting better Man!
Yup top lads.
The Oasis legacy must be passed on
like the Beatles.
Good stuff! 😎👊
Fucking top that was!
Aye, they’re mint 👍👍👍🎸🎸🎸
Not bad! They actually remind me a little bit of Ride with this song.
Hi James, I’m just wondering in terms of theory what would you call the scale or mode you used in the solo of sitting on a rooftop . I know it uses some jazz vocab because I’ve heard it in other songs but is there a name for the mode?
Brightest Star, Forget It All, Only Just Begun are quickly rising to my most played songs of the year ahead of some of my favourite bands and people I regularly listen to. Just so good. 👏
It's....ok. Not bad, its decent indie rock.
You should do more of this James. Maybe once a month you could have a vid about an upcoming and unknown band? Would be a great way to use your fast growing channel. Not sure how you would pick a band each month though, without being bombarded with endless requests from bands 😂
Cracking shout out James, nice one👍👍
Pretty good
Always good to see young guitar bands on the rise. These guys don't quite cut it for me personally (yet) but more power to them!
I’ve heard of them in recent weeks as a ‘band to watch out for’. Whether they make it is another matter. Will they be the band who bring rock n roll or indie music back to life in the mainstream? Good luck. I like the early Oasis sounds of their rhythmic section and singer have obviously seen and heard Liam Gallagher before. I like that. Better to see a singer going for it, yeah. Up Marseille!
The original band Marseille by the way featured television star Neil Buchanan - he of ‘Art Attack’ fame - try it yourself, indeed!
Did you miss the band Sulk that was active a couple of years ago? Check out the songs Back in Bloom or Wishes. Best new Britpop/Madchester I've heard since -97. A shame they didn't really gain traction
Amen to that- so good, very summery shimmery vibe!
Lyrics like the verve sound like oasis very good 👍
Fair play mate, jus listened to this dream of mine on Spotify. What a tune!!! With all the talks of liam tickets selling out quick, if they were supporting noel I'd rather go to that 😁 think I'd prefer to see noel anyway atm 😁
We don't wanna be famous.. We just wanna make good music.. We r not Wham.. Ha.
LOVE.. SHACK... PASTEL.. MARCELLE.
Marseille, while good, sound too much like Oasis for me. I love Oasis, but one of them is enough. But I can appreciate the beautiful vintage Gibson's being played. We definitely need to hear more of those! The Johnny Winter/Mick Ralphs Firebird is stunning!
Don’t personally see the hype but great to see young lads making guitar music. Exit calm for me were light years ahead of these lad rock bands
There is a Heavy metal band from Liverpool called "MARSEILLE" formed by Neil Buchanan of Art Attack.
They sound like Oasis to me & I only know Oasis from their singles. Maybe they should do a cover version of the song Marseilles by the Australian band, The Angels. That would get the audience rocking 🤘
can feel alot of inspo from stone roses (even the haircut) I honestly hope this band becomes a uk sensation cause itll be worth it
Try the band ‘Another Day’ you will be blown away
have a listen to LUNARCA, they're a new Sheffield bannd
James u heard The Rolling People, another really good band
Heard them mentioned a lot, may check them out at some point
Marseille, Bastille, Louis XIV (okay they're well old so I'm stretching with that one lol!) What's going on with the French Revo names? If it's a new trend, I'm here for it. Bagsie the name Tricolour!
Yeah, it's alright. Needs rehearsing and a killer single. This isn't it, but keep going boys. Guitarists are fine, bass is fine, drummer was ok and the singer is cool.
Rehearse rehearse rehearse, then just get pissed, pick three chords and smash out your own columbia. The blueprint may be 30 years old, but it's a good un. Slow down. Swagger it. Long outros. Best of luck all.
Go see them live. You’ll change your mind ref the drummer. He’s class.
Voice is similar to the bloke out of the band the Music.
also nanci griffith singer
Not a bad tune, bit of a grower. But tbh, I can't see them setting the world alight, I think your songs are much better!!
Well, it’s not my kind of thing. But I’m hoping some of that kind of rock bands starts rising up too. I more like the downright and condensed rock n roll bands. None of rock music is around that I can tell. Although it sees bars and such aren’t as difficult anymore. Which is what killed off good bands when mine was together.
I wonder if they're British 😂
They are very good
Noasis
Just played the latest ep to a few freiends ,they just laughed and thought it was a young Liam .
PASTEL PART E PEOPLE..M. V. I. T. A... MARCELLE.. UP THE NORTH.. TOP LADS WILL BROWN.. LENNON...
Sorry, but if the future of guitar music is just looping back around to the early 90s again, its probably time to stick the guitars away for a while. Not sure how long they've been going for, or what their other music is like, but that was just aching to be Definitely Maybe-era Oasis.
Its been done, lads.
Yawn
How about listening to their other stuff before commenting with your negativity. Guitar music will never make a comeback with that attitude and we’ll be stuck with the generic shite that populates the charts right now.
@@thom0906 Right after I watched this video, I did just that and checked out videos on their page.
Too much Definitely Maybe-era Oasis, and pinching riffs from the likes of Sally Cinnamon and Las tracks.
Sorry, but didn't Oasis blow all this out of the water 30 years ago?
@@EddieG1888 sounds like a decent grounding to me
go and listen to the 1975 then mate this clearly ain't for you
They are just not that good, sorry folks you’re deluging yourselves and wishing for a time that has past
Saw Marseille top of the bill in Norwich start of this year, didn’t think much of the set, this song seems good, anything’s gonna be derivative these days. Cheshire band Called river stone James, anthemic as fuck, you may have heard of them
Just followed you’re advice. Oh dear.
