Don't mess around with back injuries they never get better glad you're OK
If a fall happens you can't move them at all. If they are responsive yet unable to move/in pain you have to let someone like a paramedic check their spine and neck. While others do BP , oxygen sensors, and cognitive questioning. Then an ambulance would arrive to slowly load them into a stretcher.
If they are unconcious you have to make sure they dont swallow their tongue by having them rolled to the side, or get injured again. Breathing and pulse takes highest priority at that point.
Bro people don't swallow their tongues. The recovery position is used when a head injury or something else may cause vomiting and the person is unresponsive or fading in and out.

Many say the head is the most sensitive and dangerous part of the body to land on, which is true. But a VERY close second would be the tail bone. You can literally paralyze yourself forever just by landing on your tailbone with a small amount of force. I'm very happy that Carlos is okay, but he's very lucky he took in a bit of force on his legs first or else this might have ended differently.
This was by far the most intense & suspenseful video I have watched so far. Carlos, you are one rad dude.

I used to be the safety coordinator for a performance group running a fire circus act and I have seen this sort of thing before where you push yourself but to it a few too many times in a row and the risks just go through the roof... That was hard to watch. Hope you're okay, Carlos. Make sure you get that checked out so it doesn't turn into a permanent, debilitating injury. I have to say, I'm really disappointed in the way that was handled by the other people there. Obviously I can't say too much as I wasn't a first-hand witness, but it really seemed like Mario was the only one who gave a shit, and even he was shockingly slow to react. Carlos really needs to see a doctor just to be safe. With someone that lean, a fall like that can do some serious damage to bones, ligaments, etc. and possibly even organs.
They were used to him laying there for a sec and then getting up , that's the reaction was slow , and why so many cuts were in the vid

to many skaters a helmet is a distraction and theres so much sweat in there, not hating on people who wear helmets while skating, most preffer to keep their head free.
is avoiding uncomfortable sweat worth the brain bleed that may lead to a stroke that may lead to losing some function of yourself? He's young, and to live the rest of your life disabled when you once were able to jump off the braille drop will be depressing.
He might've just avoided getting a compression fracture on his spine...he'll feel it when he's older as a nagging pain for a long time, and hopefully that'll be it.

I know everyones different, but Andy Anderson wears a helmet all the time and he has the best balance ive ever seen. Even if you dont wear a helmet 99% of time, if youre trying something new, from a great height and onto a concrete floor, then wear a helmet. He couldve worn a helmet and grinded a few normal rails to get used to it, then use it on the drop. Even if he doesnt want to wear it anywhere else. For something like this he probably should

He was feeling the wind speed to calculate the amount of time it would take for the impact to occur. And using that data he would contract his muscles to absorb the impact with his tailbone.
