1986!! Bad ass year for movies....Ruthless People, Rocky 4, Top Gun, Big Trouble in Little China, Aliens, The Golden Child, Crocodile Dundee........the list is endless.
There were so many funny parts in this movie. But in my opinion the funniest part was near the end, when Bette Midler was on the pier with Danny DeVito, and after he tells her how great she looks, then the cops were walking away saying I hope my marriage is this good when it's been that long, but behind the cops backs she's beating the hell out of him. That was by far the funniest scene in the movie
Well Sam did basically leave her at the mercy of kidnappers and refused to pay her ransom. They may have been incompetent at first but they still abducted her and kept her chained to a bed. I would beat the crap out of my husband as well if he did that to me lol
Until I just viewed it, I thought when he does that silent cheer, it was because he could hear her being tortured, not that she was trying to withhold any further information about his assets.
I remember when this and Steets of fire, Back to the Future, and Hiding Out, used to play on HBO 24/7. LMAO!! And I can't forget Poltergeist 1 through 3.
I live in Birmingham England. In 1986 I went to Manchester England for the weekend. I went into a cinema and saw Ruthless People. Judge Reinhold is the consummate 'movie star' ❤So much charisma 😊
@@ChilliCheezdog This movie is soooo underrated! The cast is amazing & the script is just gold! You’re absolutely right, Judge is spectacular! I’m thinking of the chloroform scene right now lol 😂
This was a great move! But even better was "Outrageous Fortune" also with Bette Midler and Shelley Long and "Big Business" with Bette Midler and Lilly Tomlin.
If Bette Midler's character had not been kidnapped, her husband would have killed her already just to get her fortune and she wouldn't have been alive in the end to later find out what a scumbag he really is, wanting her dead this whole time. Thank goodness she ended up befriending her former kidnappers and choose not to press charges against them.
😫 I've been kidnapped by Kayyy-mart!😫 As a former asst manager of Kmart, that's the line that sticks with me somewhere near my funnybone. I still howl when she delivers that line 😂
One of the most underrated movies of the 80's.
I agree. It's one of the funniest and most original movies that I've seen in a while.
This movie is weird, this movie is strange. This movie is brilliant. Judge Reinhold is magnificent.

That was priceless for me too. It's hysterical.
The ultimate joke from this movie is that the Kidnappers were the good guys! This and Down and Out In Beverly Hills are gems!
This movie is too brilliant for words.
Fire up the stove, get the tofu burgers out of the freezer, we're calling Sam.
I can’t believe this is happening
1:36 I love how Danny goes cross-eyed with rage!
"YOU INHUMAN SLIME!!"
"THE BITCH BLABBED!" lol. Consistent! He doesn't care a jot that Barbara's being tortured!
Until I just viewed it, I thought when he does that silent cheer, it was because he could hear her being tortured, not that she was trying to withhold any further information about his assets.
Isn't that like Danny De'Vito's calling card? "You inhuman slime!" I swear I've heard him say it in like 3 movies. It's like Arnold's "I'll be back."
I remember when this and Steets of fire, Back to the Future, and Hiding Out, used to play on HBO 24/7. LMAO!! And I can't forget Poltergeist 1 through 3.
YES!
"...The Bitch Blabbed"!!
I love Barbara more than I can fathom.
This is one of my all time favorite movies!! Fantastic movie 😁😁😁😁

Sandy was murdering that burger! 🤣🤣🤣

Hilariously funny movie!!
everytime iam doing barbecue, i remember this part of tortering poor cotlet
The hamburger scene! One of the best scenes from Ruthless People 🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Helen slater is so hot
For so long I confused her with Olivia Newton John when I was a kid. I had such a crush on her after The Legend of Billie Jean.
Sam sees Barbra at 'this' point as Hannibal, needing her, not wanting her.
Holy crap ! I missed thai one. Terry Thomas is hilarious. I'll be searching Amazon now...
love this movie.
They got him by the balls and he’s stuck between a rock and a hard place.
The cheif placing cyanide in Sam's desk scene should be cut 'cause it's too much.
the torture of this movie!! it's Hilarious!
My favorite part I laugh so hard
Take me back to this time.
hahaha the looks on bette's face

Scared me, this woman , scary ...But what the hell.
My favorite scene
I never caught he was cheering the torture around 1:02.
Not the torture, he was cheering for Barbara because she -- at first -- refused to tell them about the gems.
@@tomtrinchera8405 I lost it when Sam muttered "The bitch popped!"
@@largol33t1 the bitch BLABBED
great film
Timeless!
i always wanted there glam house xxx love it
Haha! Omg I have to find this
Wait...this is not a Disney movie?
It is, in fact, a Disney movie. Touchstone is the Disney company that made R-rated films.
@@DivineGraceQueen Also, PG-13 films
