This is my favorite rendition of this hymn, it reminds me of my first days of enrollment at Southern, I would have this on repeat while I meditated on my study material.
Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, Just to take Him at His Word Just to rest upon His promise, Just to know, "Thus saith the Lord!" Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him! How I've proved Him o'er and o'er Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus! Oh, for grace to trust Him more! I'm so glad I learned to trust Him, Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend And I know that He is with me, Will be with me to the end. Oh, how sweet to trust in Jesus, Just to trust His cleansing blood And in simple faith to plunge me 'Neath the healing, cleansing flood! Yes, 'tis sweet to trust in Jesus, Just from sin and self to cease Just from Jesus simply taking Life and rest, and joy and peace.
you guys are the best.......Kudos to you all.....Can you sing There was One Who Is willing please but in a slow version that you can really feel the pain bearing the cross, guys please.....more power and God bless
I like what they’re doing here, and I want to like this version, but some of these chords just seem a bit off. For a contemporary version of this song, I think I’d most recommend the version by Free As A Bird.
Beautiful song. I certainly wish the student body over there wasn't going liberal with all the heresies the students are taking on and all the sin and all the racial issues and so on. It makes this song kind of sadder, knowing while they may be on point hat so much of the school and even some teachers are slanting so far in a bad direction. Makes wonder how much longer they'll be a good college to go to and how much longer Southern will be a good seminary after that. Once Mohler is and some others are gone it's just a matter of time
Harvard started as a Seminary to form preachers of the Gospel, when an institution becomes rich, powerful, and worldly, it attracts worldly people, guided by their father the devil. Yale was stared by those that thought Harvard was getting too liberal. And thus it goes. God is eternal and unchangeable, institutions are not. 😰
Hate the arrangement, but what a voice!!! She totally saved this song out of this 2 chord garbage bin. But that’s what all the cool kids are doing these days: instead of playing beautiful hymns that have 27 different chords & notes, just playing a single one for the entire verse and another chord for the whole chorus .. I don’t get it but whatever. sheesh I still didn’t give it a thumbs down, I actually gave it a thumbs up out of respect for the band, the hymn itself and the girl who has the vocal cords of a legit DIVA, but that’s just my opinion. sorry if it’s harsh, but I hope the musicians can grow and mature as much as this singer obviously has in her craft.
There’s 4 chords in this song (E,C#m,A,B) and there’s really only 12 notes in all of music so I’m not sure what you’re so caught up on. Yes hymns might be more complex but they were also written for an organist and a full choir. I’d say they simplified this song so people in smaller groups could still bring this song. You’d have a hard time singing a hymn with one or two vocalist and only an acoustic guitar but you could easily do that with their version.
AWESOME VERSION & most people LOVE IT. It's not a hymn. every musician on this song is KILLING IT! the WHOLE BAND IS AWESOME! Not sure what you're caught up on, I'm a musician & play in many bands & church, EVERY ONE OF THESE GUYS IS KILLIN' IT! Can you not hear the piano, you think that's 2 chords? the bass guitar, drums, & acoustic guitar are putting down a serious rhythm section. lead guitar is SMOKING! It takes ALL of them to make this, not just the singer.
This is a little musically and spiritually ignorant, I must say. This pseudo-spiritual notion that more chords = better is absurd. It's no better than modern music apologists who trash talk hymns. Can we stop the worship battles please? They're bringing a classic hymn into the modern age, and for that we should applaud them.
You are right, but the gain on her large diaphragm condenser mic had to be turned down to keep all the (much louder) instruments from going into her mic on this live recording. So she has to get close to it.. Very good production for a live take.
I love it when old songs are brought into our times and done in a beautiful way. Awesome.
Simple and lovely. Modern but classic, interesting but not flashy. I love everything you're doing here.
Loving the passion and happiness of the guitar player. 😇
This is my favorite rendition of this hymn, it reminds me of my first days of enrollment at Southern, I would have this on repeat while I meditated on my study material.
Beautiful music, sung with faith. 🙂
Rhythm guitar guy, you know you wanna sing! 💗
Phantastic worship 110% it's so sweet... What a friend we have in Jesus + \0/
Precious Lord Jesus! Thank you Lord!
Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!

Beautiful song. But I hear mostly base and drums. Is is that your 'commercial'?
Hey guys: love the track - but this is almost not for note “low rising” by the swell season… coincidence?…
👐🙏

me encantaria instrumentales de sus canciones!
Is "Hay un nuevo en mi ser" Spanish version?

Fred Jan what are you talking about? I don’t see that happening there... are you talking about a specific situation?
I'm a but confused too. From what I've heard, Boyce and Southern are the exact opposite. Are we missing something?

that is not the kind of microphone you're supposed to "eat"...
