"9th in the world", with that lead up to the race, is quite an achievement. Just those hotel shenanigans could have lost you a couple of places. Thank you for taking the time to make your videos.
Being an ambassador of the sport is critically important. Triathlon and xterra are both better off for all of your contributions. It has my son excited to be a part of both!
Eric, this video might be my favorite video you have ever made. I love the self-reflection and soul searching you are doing. I love that you are finding your passion off-road and inspiring others to do the same! How cool was it to see your dad riding alongside you!! Please know that your videos are meaningful and beautiful. Here's to playing in the dirt!
That video has possibly done more to promote triathlon, being fit and healthy and enjoying life than any other video I’ve watched. Keep making more of them. The off road/ trail based triathlons so much nicer..brilliant 👍🏻
Awesome Eric! Being a positive ambassador is way more important than winning races. TTL has and is doing so much to present the healthy, active lifestyle. Kudos to you and Paula.
Eric, your introspection lately has me feeling all your feelings! You are such an inspiration to so many for just living your life how you want to and doing what lights you up! Thank you for everything you do, from racing, to filming, to inspiring the up and coming generation. He also had these impromptu events in the San Diego Area. No entry fees, No rules really. Just a bunch of Multi Sport enthusiasts meeting up on Easter or Thanksgiving morning for a fun no hold barred multi sport festival. I see TTL as that same kind of spirit. Race results come and go
I think this is my first post ever Your outlook on fitness is an inspiration. Your editing and music is amazing and is what turns me on to your videos. I have been competitive my whole life in endurance sports but your style has inspired me to keep pushing the limits although my limits are limited at age 50. Keep doing what you are doing.
I've got Eagleman for my first triathlon next weekend. My triathlon interest started with finding TTL on RUclips. Rocked the TTL merch before I even considered actually doing a triathlon just because I enjoy your two journey so much. But you've fully inspired me to partake in the sport and join the journey too. I love the attitude you take and what you stand for, keep it up...we are inspired!

A great episode Eric, you often speak the language of us age group folk, you are a complete inspiration, the TTL vibe and community, keep this old almost 62 year old tri head turning up to training everyday still after 32 years! in the sport. Hey Eric, I was there doing my first triathlon because I watched your video last year and I love mtb riding so much. I came into T2 and asked my wife ‘how did Eric do?’ She said she congratulated you on a great race when you were walking out. Sad I didn’t get the opportunity to tell you how much I love your videos.

Great advice. Race short, local, often and with what you've got on the day. Love going gun to tape. And racing those around you. No peaking. No tapering. Old school seasons.

I love the TTL videos and 9th in the world is nothing to sneer at. I think all the struggles you have had lately with illness and injury and the hotel shit would absolutely crack a ton of athletes but you showed up and did everything your body would let you. good on ya.

Only 1 person can win any individual race. Most of us would love to be 9th in North American or better yet the world! But we all have trade offs - and differing priorities. It’s great to see one of our favorite pros wrestling with the same issues. Love the channel and the videos.
