the argument i have heard is that the gotcha mechanic is so it’s free to play. Subscription services are expected to not have these mechanics. But maybe that’s just the circles I am in
You right... they didn't need to lock the good stuff behind a pay wall. The stat buffs are just bonuses that go along the new art refine. If they implemented a limited way for everyone else to be able to battle the same map multiple times ( tickets or something) and it cost nothing if you had the Feh pass people would be less upset. The summoner support thing also kind of bugs me... they didn't have to lock it behind a pay wall... just have it be free until we buy the pass or until we use 20 orbs per slot (thus drying us of orbs but optional). The quests are also completely fine. I see no issue with an additional 10 orbs a month alongside some nice upgrade items. but like... (sigh) I dunno man. Implementation is key.
When they introduced the special heroes, I was already dead set on getting the pass. Locking the QoL stuff behind the pass is just extremely scummy and unnecessary
The worst part is that even though I don't support the Pass I can see myself buying one that affects F! Corrin for example, specially if they give her a Hel outfit... But remember guys, they can take our money and our life, BUT THEY CAN'T TAKE OUR WARP STAFF!

Im uninstalling the game and gonna go back to replay the 3DS fire emblem games.
My biggest fear is that they can increase the number of features the pass could give. Like a fifth unit to your team or a game mode for pass members or... higher, another more expensive pass tier. Then I remember this is IS we're talking about, so we would probably get more flags or crystals.
