Due to the challenges we faced, we unfortunately couldn’t visit the Bartang Valley, which is such a shame! But hey, that just gives us a reason to go back someday, right? 😏 Ps. Apologies for the occasional shaky footage! 🙈 I wanted to prioritise quality, so filmed everything with our Fuji XT4. But those wild roads really call for an action cam 😅 No worries, though-we’ve invested in one from Mongolia onward! 😉
Thank you so much for this amazing video. It feels like a cinema movie and we are honored to appear in the movie, too - although we didn't have the proper DPF cleaner for you, haha :) While watching the movie, we wanted to be back again in the pamir mountains. We love your vlog style and want to see more. The music fits perfectly. Great Job to both of you! Lovely Greetings from Cambodia 💓💓
Oooh thanks so much guys 🤍 Either way, the title of heroes is firmly upheld 😉 In every sense, and throughout the rest of our shared adventure! Looking forward to your next video of China!! Enjoy Cambodia to the fullest, and hopefully we still have a chance of once meeting again in SEA 😘
Absolutely! You guys know all about it 😉Thank you so much 🫶 big head scratch to Lewie!! Can’t wait for the day they’ll meet each other again, they’ll go craaaaaazy 😂😍
EPIC EPIC EPIC 🤩🫠 Thank you so much for taking us with you from one side I could write a book now and from the other there are no words for that beauty 🙏
Dank 🎉🎉🎉
Hey Casper, haha absoluut!
Nice adventure - got yourself an extra sub and will go back and watch the earlier adventures. DPFs in high sulphur diesel area's is not a good mix, but the sulphur levels aren't too bad there, probably just the slow going, needs a sustained road high speed cruise. Hope that sorted it with the additive.
Do you have a Diesel Prefilter? Its a good addition to any Diesel Car. We also have a 140liter long Range Tank on our Hilux but I still filled up a bucket on the same station just for emergency :-)
Great video again guys... Pamir Highway has been the dream for a very long time... sadly not going to be able to get there for a few years at least. Can you PLEASE tell me what the song is at the start 0.40 - 1.20... I've heard this a few times on different videos but can't find it anywhere. Cheers guys and stay safe.
Prachtige reis maken jullie trouwens. Onze landcruiser staat nu in Armenië.
Afghanistan is normally not on our route for this journey. After our roadtrip through Southeast Asia we plan to go back through China once again, entering Nepal, India, Pakistan, Iran and getting back into Europe from Türkiye. But for sure we will visit Afghanistan one day, we’re very intrigued by the country and it’s citizens. Just don’t know how handy it would be to travel with our dog in Afghanistan…
@ compared to past years now is the safest time for tourists to visit Afghanistan. You need to obtain a permission letter from ministry of defence or something. Any taking stops u, you show that letter and they won’t say a thing. Just some rules to follow. But yes it’s scary unfortunately Afghanistan is not like other countries. It takes a massive courage and decision to visit there. I keep watching your videos and support u.
Hi Rashid, we completely understand your perspective and usually prioritize respecting local rules. However, we’ve heard from many others that the enforcement of rules around videography and photography can be quite arbitrary-one month it’s fine, the next it’s strictly forbidden. It often seems to depend on the guards on duty. That’s why we chose to go against this inconsistent rule, though we understand how this could come across as disrespectful. But hopefully you understand, that that's absolutely not our intention :)
Ford Ranger with all the EU Limitations like DPF and EGR (or AGR) is not the best Choice for this Route. Also Diesel is a Bad Choice, maybe older Diesel Engines before 2010 can handle this .
Thanks for the input! Honestly our Ranger did very well given the circumstances we put him through 😅 in China we had indeed another error, regarding the EGR valve and then cleaned it out completely, was FULL of soot. Of course there are always better options for specific routes, but we honestly never regretted starting this epic journey with a Ford Ranger Wildtrak (2015), we’ve met a lot of other vehicles on the road, some you would think of would be way more capable that had lots more trouble on the road. We believe it’s also a matter of luck and how you treat the car given cleaners and protection. But we’re still doubting to get rid of both, given all the bad diesel we’re facing on our way home…
Amazing! So well done! I’m subbed! - And a DPF is an inaccurate acronym for a piece of crap that does absolutely nothing but hinder you, amongst many other technological advances put in modern cars to make them better?! - yet somehow none of those engines last anywhere near what they used to 😂 Get a pre 1999 Toyota Hilux or similar, with regular maintenance you’ll have no worries or hindrance of modern car BS that is frankly put in them to make manufacturers more money or save the planet, can’t remember which one costs more financially and ecologically? Slightly cleaner burning engines or manufacturing of another million little parts which use a hell of a lot more petroleum to produce which apparently cause more breakdowns, resulting in unreliable travel 🤷♂️ what do I know though, I’m no scientist, economist or planet activist…I just tend to utilise something God given, often referred to as common sense, of which there appears to be a shortage of nowadays it seems 🤔 aaaanyway happy travels guys and thanks for producing unique perspectives of areas less travelled!
Thank you so much for your kind words! 🙏 You’re absolutely right-while our vehicles may be a bit more ‘eco-friendly,’ these measures take a serious toll on engine longevity. We also question whether they truly benefit the environment in the long term. We've been considering removing the DPF and blanking the EGR, but that comes with its own challenges. It’s illegal in Europe, and reinstalling them for car inspections in Belgium could be quite costly...
@ credit where credit is due 🙌 Yes I fully understand exactly where you’re coming from! I’m honestly not convinced it is that environmentally friendly in the grand scheme of things! - it’s a whole lot of effort to do away with it all, and then reinstall it in order to pass European checks…however, if one has time, and is able to install bypass systems rather then completely disengage it it may be worth the effort! Reliability over anything after all, especially in areas you are venturing to! Best of luck either way your adventures are incredible!
Love the vid quality but not the music.🙉 Everyone does music which I will never hear in those locations if I’m out touring. Anyway, more people than me seem to like it. I just turn it off and use cc. I’m liking the vid anyway for the drone skills. 👍🏻🙏🦘
Thank you! We always try to match the music a bit to the vibe of the country we’re filming in, especially when strolling to the ancient cities of Uzbekistan for example. Music plays such a big role in our lives that it naturally becomes part of our storytelling. Ken is a musician (you can hear one of his tracks starting at 42:55), and for both of us, music is constant-from the moment we wake up to when we fall asleep. For me, Charlotte, music is more than just background-it’s a way to tell the story. It creates the mood, whether intense or lighthearted, and captures the feeling we had in the moment. That’s why it will always be central to our videos. But I totally get your point-it can feel a bit unexpected to hear a rock tune while driving through an ancient religious town. 😅 We’re so happy you still enjoyed watching! And those drone shots-haha, I actually lost the joysticks on the road to Alaudin Lake! Hearing that you didn’t notice makes my day! 😍
Wow, this covers the whole meaning of he word "adventure" Bedankt voor al het werk om deze video te maken en ons mee te laten genieten 👌

You should be respecting the rules. To them, it’s not a stupid rule for you to come and break.
