Thank you for this review of fathers career and his mindset. He was the real deal, determined, single-minded and yes outspoken in every aspect of his life. We lost our father a few months ago and he would be tickled with all the love that has been shown for his achievements.
@@philreadjr phil i used to ring your dad most weeks after I met him in 2017 after helpingwith the bike legends he used to share some great stories a bit of a lad in his time it was so sad when he passed away you were very lucky to have a dad like phil he was a top man god bless him i have great memories of him
@@philreadjr Hi Phil Read Jr - You just have to look at your Fathers records...and well, they speak for themself. Condolences for your loss. Thank you for stopping by and commenting. 🏍🏍👍
Hmm,,,not so much a gent. I've been in the pits at a couple of tracks with him around and I found him to be miserable and unapproachable. He was quick but never a fave of mine.
@@chrisstewart8259 sorry to hear that chris but I’ve known phil the last ten years of his life and found him to be a nice person and got very close to him 🏁

So many titles..
Controversial..but once on his machines..No. 1
One of the few racers to beat Ago on equal bikes, much underrated
A great racer

Saw him as a kid at Roy Hesketh early 70's with Paul Smart, Agostini, Rod Gould, to name a few. He was riding finger on the clutch aircooled Yamaha.
He was a great in the sport...one of the best - thanks for your comment 🏍️👍
