    I have been running some older tracks that I’ve done and I can honestly tell you that they are not the same. The SSL fusion is just priceless!! Huge sounding tracks, with the polish you’ve been searching for!! Trust me 🤓 get it.

    I’m glad there’s still company making hardware gear... I use the UAD plugins, I’ve got them all, yet having used a LOT of the real world gear, I’d still prefer some them over plugins. Rather hardware or software, they BOTH have their respective purpose in the creative process of making music.
    Keep making the vid’s.

    it really sounds amazing, thanks for sharing this information !... Also thanks for all the awesome knowledge you are kindly sharing on your You Tube channel , I just registered on it ... I have a question please : based on your experience, what would be the piece of software (not hardware) that could do the best job for sitting correctly instruments in the Stereo scene and particularly for moving some instruments in upper part of the Stereo scene please ?.. Not talking about higher frequencies but upper location in the Stereo scene.

    Units like this are awesome but I also find it really hard to decide which settings actually sound better, so many sweet spots, lead to to many tough choices. Often after hours of tweaking and procrastinating I swear half the time the choice ends up been random 😂
    Still it generally is going to sound excellent with ssl. & playing around with insert & various bits of kit in the m\s setting sure opens up a heap of possibilities 🤔
    kinda like to hear one in person cos RUclips sound quality cuts out a lot.

    Just bought this piece and i must say im dissapointed...bought this mainly for master bus but soon as i turn on the drive i get like 0.4 db louder signal on the right channel. After adding just a little bit of stereo image signal drifts 0.6 db louder to right channel. This is way too much and unaccaptable for mastering. There is no way around it no matter what i do. First i thought the unit is damaged but guys from SSL explained me that this is kind of normal...

    • @Ezelmusic
      @Ezelmusic 5 лет назад

      Yea I want to know that as well! Seems this edges the Silver Bullet with the Stereo width module and the HF comp but the SB is a full Pre + The twin topology of the amps might give more coloration than what's achieved with this unit, would love your opinion

    • @ProductionExpert
      @ProductionExpert  5 лет назад +1

      They are different things really. Silver Bullet is a mic pre with benefits. The Fusion is a dedicated processor. JWI.

    • @tyranic1
      @tyranic1 5 лет назад

      I would not sell my Silver Bullet for this. The mike pre that it has is something else, even compared to other desert island mike pre's. As for the stereo width effect i'd just add Matthew Lane after the SB. The SB can elevate some mixes amazingly well.

    Was hoping to see a more professional AB testing.
    For ex.
    The drive was so subtle. Test with more input next time. I actually wanna hear what it can do! Especially on drums!
    One setting on the EQ? That was fast! Why no step thru all the freq steps?
    HF Compressor. No clear AB? Could't hear jack what it was doing when you AB with both EQ and HF Comp.
    Why no solobypass?
    Stereo Image. When doing it so subtle it just sound like a level increase of the side channel?
    Hos can I make something out of that?
    The transformer circuit AB should have been done in solobypass not masterbypass? How can we desern what it does??
    I'm writing this to help you make a better AB next time! Good luck!

    • @reptilespantoso
      @reptilespantoso 5 лет назад +1

      It complements the eq many people already have in the rack.
      The "drive" circuit is that SSL Buscompressor sound. (but then over the top)
      I'd mix that with a clean original. (at the insert point in standard mode)
      That insert point is a deal maker. :-D

    • @reptilespantoso
      @reptilespantoso 5 лет назад +2

      No. Well not in my experience. Even with some of the best plugins there's a different result. Software has it's place, and I use it a lot. Some of it is really good. But this "SSL buscompressor on stun" compressed sound.... nope. A bit hyped, but not agressive. Not in software. Eq sounds sweet too, try that with a shit recorded take through some generic converter in a 200$ "artist" package, and some random EQ a random person is using because everyone's using it, and he or she will have a harsh top end and phase problems in the low end. Which you won't hear because you've been monitoring with the EQ on, so your ears have adjusted to it. And then you're adding shit to the pile. Which is not my objective.
      A combination of hard- and software at the moment gives me the best results.
