They took what normally would be the climax note and turned it into the chorus by repeating the note over and over in the studio. So, it was taxing on her voice even in her prime. She gmhas a fantastic voice, but thst particular note was at the edge of her limits 30 years ago
A vocalist of her talent is more than enough for a lifetime but she is an entertainer thru and thru. Those are skills she has to bring the energy to with every performance. She fronts every band that has the honor to play her music. Even pieces like these first couple where she was the original lead and created what I believe is the most iconic hook of any song played on any dance floor, she is able to deliver the entirety of what were once ensemble fronted songs. C+C was lucky to have her. Even after the lawsuit settlement, she would join them visibly and, singing along with Zelma delivered their 6th #1 dance hit "Do You Wanna Get Funky." She is a class act.
Lovely. I don't care what she sings, whether club, pop, rock, house, disco, jazz, WHATEVER, she's got my attention because THIS LADY has been under rated for much too long; love the song Martha....ooh HONEY. LOL...thank you for allowing me to hear your awesome vocals this day!

I was just listening to the Black Box version of Everybody Everybody and I thought "I wonder if there's a live performance with a horn section somewhere on the interwebs".. just a lil digging and I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED!!♡ 🎶 🎵 ♡
U kiddn? This is not even close to what she deserves, but the fact is it was 20+ years ago.... She still has the chops so her team shud look into some NeW Future House music with an updated digital style, but never lose the warmth of House Music!
As much as I understand she's not that young anymore it's kinda disappointing waiting for the iconic "It's Raining men" and seeing time after time she avoiding or pointing the mic to the crowd and saying "Sing". The anticipation kept growing with the frustration. She finished the song and I was left with the feeling that she didn't deliver. Maybe it's her age or maybe after her first attempts of "Everybody Dance Now" she thought "not gonna happen today".
She is the real deal! Simply gorgeous and one of the best voices EVER!
