Yes, Rob's reviews are terrific. They tell us what as travellers we need to know, rather than he trying to turn himself into some sort of wannabe celebrity like so many younger videographers funding their travel through thousands of views and featuring their mutts in every sequence.
Cheers. Probably to keep in mind when things get back to some normality it will go to a buffet breakfast again. I can't remember if they had buffets for lunch and dinner.
Dont know if anyone gives a damn but if you guys are bored like me atm you can stream pretty much all the latest series on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my girlfriend during the lockdown xD
“Fit the whole walton family “ 😂that’s a dated reference. Will be staying there in October and reserved the big bed. Looking forward to our stay. Thank you for your video.
I was thinking about trying this place out. problem is i'd love to stay at crimson or one of the nicer ones the entire time but $200 a night gets steep when your going for half a month. nice review
Unfortunately the resorts in Mactan are overpriced. Crimson got badly damaged during the typhoon particularly their villas. I think a lot are still getting repaired. You may wanna keep your eye on their Facebook page just in case they do have any promos. While tourism has picked up since Feb 10 it's still nothing like pre pandemic.
Definitely more than 30 years old: my guess from the furniture is it may have opened about 1980-83, which makes it almost 40 years old at a minimum. I've stayed at a couple of the lower priced resorts (i.e. not as expensive as Sahngri La Mactan) and can attest to how (in pre-Grab days) it was challenging to obatin transport if one wanted to visit Ayala Mall or elsewhere for the day in lieu of island hopping. C+ seems a sensible rating. Again, your videos are extremely comprehensive and give a 'warts'n'all' perspective, but you never denigrate places or people just for the sake of it.. Way better than self-opinionated 'Vloggers' who promote themselves as they obsess over trying to receive a million views in six months and hence pay for their next holiday. One suggestion would be to show the check-in experience though perhaps staff may not want to be filmed. Also some occasional views with poolside or bar staff and consequent interactions would be good, without overdoing it. That would give prospective guests an idea as to service levels and whether staff were friendly and suitably well informed in their area.
Thanks for the feedback. I find it a little difficult to film at check in as im carring my bags. I've got a few camera bags that I don't like leaving with the porter. It's kinda awkward to film one hand and with the luggage. Filming by the pool is an idea! Especially bringing me over a fancy cocktail! Yes grab is very helpful, although I found Cordova area a little harder to get a driver, although that may get easier as demand grows with more tourists.
Thank you rob for your videos really like them I would like to stay in mactan and use this is my base when I travel the Philippines what do you recommend for a monthly rental
I don't really stay long term at many places. Having said that, have a look around Mactan Newtown area they have a lot of condos in the area. If you check on AirBnb you may be able to find something.
This has to be one of the best local reviews i have ever seen. Jesus christ i tip my hat to you. Literally the details are absolutely stunning
Glad you liked it! I try to show the things I look for when I stay at a resort.

Stayed there in 2016, nice pools, food was decent and fair price for the stay. My daughter really loved those green pods.
Glad you enjoyed the place. I think it's not too bad at all. The pods and lounge chairs on the beach look great.
Rob, Thanks for the video. Been to Costabella in 2013. It upgraded so that a good especially the food

Hope you get some good weather and enjoy your stay!
Great memories there, been there in 2013, I like Crimson resort more although that beach is also plain.
Yes I agree, Crimson is the nicer place.

We enjoyed our stay at Constabella, good food and facilities but the price is cheaper compared to other beach resorts.
Yeah it's a decent option.
Great review thx
Cheers.
