Wow so hard! Male variations all seem to start with the same type of note progression. 5-10 seconds would give more of a clue. On a side note, where are the videos of the two of you dancing? Would love to see that. You two are so engaging!
Does it count if when you said "are you ready?" I practically shouted "HECK YEAH!" I don't know any variations. I don't think I could even guess a ballet if you let me listen to an entire score, let alone name characters from it. But boy do I love watching ballet dancers do their incredible, amazing thing - and also watching you two try to make each other have a complete breakdown over variations. And also the subtitles/delightful additional text! And how could I forget you both desperately trying to sing your way through to a part of the music that will remind you of the piece's name? 🤣 Thank you, Jordan and Eden! Every video you make is such fun - and so informative for the non-ballet people watching! 🩰💖 edit: "Singing it with more passion won't make it correct!!!!" thanks now I'm actually crying with laughter, A+
Hahaha glad someone was as excited to play as we were 😂😂. Thanks for playing and laughing with us! We cried laughing too as we watched the playback lol. Thanks for your wonderful feedback 😄😄💕
I'm one of those people who don't know these variations very well.... I enjoy seeing you ladies having fun with these games, but it just makes me realize how little I know about the details of so many ballets. Please do some more of the blow-by-blow descriptions of some of these other ballets. You know, like you did with Swan Lake and Giselle. Please, please, please!
We hear your request!! There’s a lot out there, but we’d love to take it one ballet at a time with y’all ☺️🙌🏻. Always glad to hear y’all like those kinds of vids. Thanks for playing with us today!! ✨😄👏
I only recognized Franz's variation, which I'm at least glad of because I do know Coppélia very well. But my favorite part of this was learning about more ballets and variations I didn't know.
I recognized only the Tchaikovsky pieces; and yeah, I agree that Siegfried's variation is surprisingly very soft. It's such a fun tribute to underrated male parts in ballet (; (Btw, I love you use parts from Swan Lake in your video intro and outro (; )
I just realised that golden idol is 5/4 literally yesterday! Nice to hear that others hear it too! Male variations truly all sound the same with their introductory music (oom pah or trumpets blasting, just in different keys) so it’s so impressive that you two did so well. I’m like Eden - I knew the piece but had no idea where it’s from 😂 It would be interesting to try something in the middle of the variation! Or famous corps pieces?
Heeeeyyyy we’re on the same wavelength with the 5/4 thing! That’s a great idea for round 3, it’ll be hard, but all the more fun 😂. Thanks for playing with us today! 🙌🏻
This was fun! Watching the two of you do an amazing job of recognizing variations which you would not have danced yourselves is quite something! I got zero correct which is not surprising. There are two that I have heard many times from watching Prix de Lausanne but I can never remember which ballets they belong to. I've learned so much today, including the names of some ballets of which I have never heard, and I'm going to be looking all of them up! 17:39 I was hoping it would be the Carmen Overture but it's from Coppélia. 04:09 those splits!! Thank you very much for the video! 🤩🩰🙏💐
13:15 my all time favorites are, for the women- The Rose Adagio from The Sleeping Beauty (Viviana Durante🌹) , for the men- The Spectre de la Rose ( Manuel Legris🌹) both, other-worldly!!!❤🔥
You guys are the best! As a male ballet student i found your female variation one quite difficult. I am overjoyed that you did a male one a lot of people don't do a male version of most videos but you guys did. I am so grateful for it. Awesome vid by the way
@@balletreign that was the variation I was thinking of from your oom PHA,but since they all sounded similar in the first second and I didn't get any of the others I`ll give myself 0 out of however many. Entertaining Video anyway❤
Thank you so much for not using a Golden Idol video with the blackface child servants. I know a few companies like Paris Opera's recent versions and Boston Ballet don't have the kids in blackface, but the Russian productions definitely still do it... Makarova's version just has the idol himself (look up Angel Corella doing Golden Idol, it's amazing) And the musical edits were the conductor's choice with on the recording you played, that's why it's not the standard.
@@balletreign ruclips.net/video/BrDjxDXno7s/видео.html here is the version with the kids in blackface, Paris Opera does a similar version with Nureyev's choreography, but they removed the makeup in 2016. Fun fact-David Motta Soares, the idol in this video, is now in Germany and left the Bolshoi after the invasion :)
I hope you both know how much I love you guys but I’m sitting this one out: unless it’s Leonid Sarafanov, I’m not interested. Looking forward to next week’s video and have fun playing the game 🇧🇷🇵🇹🩰❤️
I got 7 😂 I can’t believe I didn’t get Acteon’s variation tho ☠️ I literally watched Yonah Acosta (principal dancer of the Cuban ballet) perform it live 2 weeks ago
I got 3 of the obvious ones plus GPC., so not too awful. What about doing the intrada part of aome gpdd and/or codas that these variatins all came from? Or well known soloist parts like the fairies in Cinderella, or character pieces like Widow Simone or the Chickens or any Jester part. Another great vid. You guys are so awesome!
11:15 ~ question! I thought that was the "Conrad" variation from Le Corsaire, but then again, I've only ever seen the modern Bolshoi versions, and the male principal is named "Conrad." ??
@@balletreign That’s cool. I really like classical music and because of it I started to get fascinated with ballet a while ago, but there’s not many channels on RUclips like this; I’m actually learning a lot here and it’s fun watching. Are there any other irregular time signatures other than the 5/4?
i love how every time eden says oh the letter o pops up the the screen editing is chefs kiss
LOL thank you!! 🤣🤣
What if that last one had a gong AND a chainsaw!! 😂❤🎉

THAT'S why the golden idol sounds so weird/unique... I've never been able to imagine what a 5/4 sounds like, now I'll always have a reference piece
Lol yeaaa it’s such a confusing piece to listen to unless you hear it in a 5 🤪 It is unique for sure! 😆🙌🏻

It would also be fun for you guys to pick one ballet, and play the music in disorder and have to say what part of the ballet it's from.
THAT would be a blast 😅😅

Glad u enjoyed that! Thanks for playing with us! We had so much fun 😁🙌🏻
Wow, this was hard, and I'm a guy. I got maybe 50% of it right. Congrats girls, your're smart.
50% is impressive! Thanks for playing along, hope you had fun! ☺️🙌🏻
Please do a version guessing the pas de deux and a version guessing the large corps de ballet number.
Oohhh that could be SO much fun 🤩 thanks for the suggestion!!
That was great fun but so hard! You really know your stuff. A few new to me though. I saw Carlos in Fille. Fantastic
Glad u had fun! Thanks for playing with us! Carlos Acosta is the best Colas in our opinion, so much character! ✨☺️
7:37 "Singing it with more passion, won't make it correct!"
